I did a quick comparison between the two Grievous' and found that the main difference is the head. It's not just the printing either. The head seems to be a new peice, a more detailed one at that. It is possible a new Grievous might appear in the future. After all creating a new head isn't nearly as big of a deal as completely redesigning the whole thing. At the very least they would update the printing in a non clone wars style (Which is more likely if we get a new Grievous at all, that's what they did with Gollum) that is if they decide to include Greivous in a ROTS set in the future.

I think it's supposed to be a web series, at least that's what I've read in a few places. A book will be released with it as well. I assume that after it's aired Lego will probably release it on DVD like the other star wars shorts (But that's entirely an assumption, but based on the high quality of the video I see no reason why they wouldn't). Continuity wise this looks as if it takes place after episode 2, I'm just glad it's not clone wars styled (I will dance in the streets when Lego stops making anything Clone wars).

The one difference I saw with Mace was that he had printed legs.

Loving all the redesigned minifigures. Count Dooku is really impressive, great hairpiece too. And the more I see of the new Yoda the more I love it.

The sail barge is a must buy for me. Hoth as well, I've never managed to get a snowspeeder before. And any set with a new Yoda I'd buy (The CW Yoda is too cartoony for me and the version before that was just too sparse on details). I'm hoping in AOTC sets we at least get the main characters from the movie. I have no minifigures from that movie and reallly am lacking that in my collection (I have my SW minifigs lined up by movie and have a depressing empty slot there. I hope we get at least one Padme next year. Out of all the characters in the star wars universe she has probably the most variations and yet appears rarely in Lego form (Which disappoints me).

I'd love to get the sail barge. The minifigure count does seem low though. Perhaps they're trying to make it more affordable, after all they've made the sarlac pit and skiff an individual set. I certainly wouldn't mind a lower minifigure count in exchange for a cheaper barge. I'd guess Jabba and slave Leia and Max Rebo for sure. I'd assume they'd have the token hero character (Luke), and a token bad guy for the hero to kill (Your guess is as good as mine). I could believe we'd get R2 or maybe C3po (I prefer C3po just because I have a dozen R2's that all look the same but only one of the new C3pos). Who knows, perhaps the Ree Yees minifigure taken out of Jabba's palace will appear here instead. Again I wouldn't cry if this set was a bit more cost effective

You might be on to something there. We've had rumors of an Ewok village forever and that hairpiece looks perfectly like Leia's hair.

The battle of Hoth set isn't really that bad. While it may not be movie accurate it does have a whole lot of play features. I can't help but be reminded of the Jedi interceptor. It has a big vehicle and than some extra scenery and character that's all somewhat tied to each other. It sort of summarizes the events of Hoth without going into great detail. This is definitely a nice companion set to last years Hoth. I'll buy it if its in the $40-50 range. Anything over that and I'll wait for a sale. I don't have any idea what the price of this thing will be. I mean it looks like the piece count of a set in the $30-40 range, but the tauntan and minifigures makes me think it will be much more expensive than that.

"A Laugh And A Half" Batman Brickfilm

Thank you. Thanks. I did this for the lego dc super heroes contest at http://dcuniverse.legosuperheroes.com/ This is the second year I've participated in the contest (Last year I tried to make a serious video and it turned out pretty bland, so this year I went with comedy). -

Yes I did. I created the mouths in Flash cs4. I figured it would be a nice touch to give them moving mouths, so I did. Unfortunately I ran out of time so a few scenes don't have them. -
So I put together a film for the super heroes video contest. The animation goes down hill towards the end because of the Nov 15th deadline. About a minute of stuff didn't make this cut. So possibly at some point in the future I'll make an extended edition (And replace some of those shots where nothing is moving!!!). Enjoy.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

As I said, I might be crazy. Still without the goggles he does look pretty similar to the Batman and Robin version. Personally though I'm not happy with either of the versions we've gotten of him so far. First one was too plain and this new one just doesn't look right to me. It's an improvement though. -

I might be crazy, but it seems almost as if the Mr. Freeze set is inspired by the movie Batman and Robin. I mean Mr. Freeze looks pretty similar to that version of him, especially with the shape of the helmet. Plus the batski was featured in that movie. Also Batman's suit in the end part of that movie was colored a bit lighter (Who knows why). I just can't help but think the designers were a little bit inspired by that for this set. I hope we get a few more female superheroes next year. We haven't gotten many so far. And my bat family isn't complete without a batgirl. -

Agreed, I wasn't happy with Ultimate Goblin when he was introduced a decade ago and I'm still not happy with him now. I really wish they'd stop basing the Spiderman sets off this show. -
I find it puzzling today that when I stopped at Walmart I found Helm's Deep for $57. It's odd because all the other LOTR sets are still full price, but the most expensive set has a significant price drop. I may not be a fan of LOTR but that's a deal I couldn't pass up.

Or they could just put multiple colors on the ring piece to represent the different rings. -

I gave it some considerable thought and I think that if they were going to give us an exclusive figure it would be Tim Drake. Here's my reasoning. First it's technically a variation of the Robin character and I would bet that Lego would use a main character for an exclusive. Second it would require no new molds, just a few decals and its done. Both cheap to make and an important character in the Batman universe. -
What I want most is more locations and less vehicles. We have a lack of buildings and areas and I'm tired of having so many vehicles. It would be great to have Wayne manor or Wayne tower (Any Gotham structure would be wonderful). A Daily Planet would definitely be welcomed. Also we need more civilian characters since we have few to none so far. What is the point of having so many heroes and villains if nobody is in peril? Give me Lois Lane, Vicki Vale, Commisioner Gordon (None TDKR version), Gwen Stacy, etc.

For the exclusive figure I'd prefer someone like commisioner Gordon or Vicki Vale, we honestly don't have enough civilians minifigures. Plus I don't need another version of Batman or Robin, so someone we don't have yet would be welcomed. It's more than the cutescenes, there were a couple shots in there that didn't happen in the game. For instance Batman fighting Penguin and Two-face in the banquet hall (Whereas in the game the villians jumped into the area beneath the stage before Batman could get to them). This is a movie based on the game so the things we saw in the cutescenes will happen in the movie too (But they'll be animated in higher quality and detail as we saw in the trailer). I'm actually fairly excited. Perhaps this is only the beginning of feature length Lego Batman movies (Since we know from the game that there's the set-up for a sequel with the whole Brainiac thing). -

Nope, I just compared the game cutescenes and the trailer and while the movie is certainly based on the game, the animation itself is new. You can tell because of how much better the animation in the trailer is rather than the game. Also there's a fair number of changes in scenarios and in design. For instance Arkham has green windows instead of red. Also in the ace chemical level Batman and Robin are falling into the fire in the game, but in the trailer they're falling to the street outside. And the Flash is in a different city fighting captain Boomerang. So it's not just the cutescenes. -

I just compared the trailer and the cutescenes and it actually looks like they're different. Arkham for instance has green windows instead of red. Also in the ace chemical level Batman and Robin are falling into the fire in the game, but in the trailer they're falling to the street outside. Also the quality of the animation in the trailer is a lot higher than the game cutescenes. So it looks like even if it uses much of the script from the game it's still new animation. So it looks like a movie based off the game with all new animation. -

Yes! Pictures finally! All in all those are some pretty solid sets. I'm excited for 2013, doubly so since we're getting a Lego Batman movie as well. -

It wouldn't make sense for Bane and Catwoman, neither of them are crazy. They're criminals yes, but Arkham is reserved for those who are criminally insane. I do agree it's a bit stupid to have panels for Ivy and Freeze, but perhaps those cells are meant to be temporary holding cells until they are moved to a more permanent room. Or perhaps the special cells are for treating them (Since both have unique biologial conditions). Perhaps in the future we'll get an add-on (Hogwarts style) that includes special cells for Joker and Scarecrow. There might be a real logical reason as to why the designers built it this way. -

The bat looks fine to me, but the tumbler is too small. I really wanted a tumbler that could fit 2 minifigures (since my Batmobile cannot), but I suppose I'll have to wait for another iteration before I see that... -
The doctor variation of Harley, it looks like we're definitely getting something Arkham related.
