You are failing to understand what I said. First of all: I wrote that Fantasy is based on Medieval times, not that the set is (although the set is ofc based on it to some extend too). Second: I especially made clear, that while I don´t need a wizard in castle Sets, I don´t mind having him. To make it more clear, I like both Medieval based and Fantasy based Sets, hence I menationed that I really liked Fantasy Era. And third: I wrote in several comments now, that while I prefer when there are more male knights, I don´t really care that Lego has their reasons to do it different, which I understand and which are perfectly fine to me. I never once complained about the dragon knight beeing female, because it doesn´t bother me at all.

And if you don´t people will not buy your product because it is to sexist (you just have to read the comments here to see that that would come up) or they don´t feel represented. You can never make everyone happy. That beeing said, even with people complaining, many of those will still buy the set anyways.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah, I am pretty undecided what to buy yet too. - Also when to buy. Last year they had some discounts on Sets using VIP-Points, so would guess we will see that happening again. So might depend on if I am looking for one of those sets. Same goes for Black friday, there will be discounted sets - but you never know which ones will be there, so I guess I need a Crystal Ball lol... -
When Film companies make new videos or series they tend to change a lot things and a lot people complain because they are not very true to the original. Just look at 5-0 or Mac Gyver. Times change and so do the likes of the audience. Now you can see a similar thing with Lego. But in that case you have one random person and one main character. So you go to change the random knight in that case and not the famous wizard. This set is a remake of an old set. If it would be more like the Lion Knights Castle or the Medieval Town Square, that would be another thing, since you can just put a female wizard there (but again, in the Lion Knights Castle they wanted to bring Majisto back because, well he is a famous Lego character from the past, that people recognize - but in return they decided to add a queen and not a king like they did in other castle sets)

It was still about that male/female discussion. To make it short: Historically seen it is a fact that Knights were, with some exeptions, male. That beeing said while fantasy can do what it wants, it is based on the medieval here and I personally would prefer that - and I don´t really need a wizard in a castle set - although I have nothing against it either and indeed I really like Fantasy Era. Anyways. While I personally would prefer to have mainly male knights, it doesn´t bother me that Lego decided to do it different, that is perfectly fine with me. Not yet, that one is still a mystery to us.

As mentioned before, no idea why we have to discuss this every set they are introducing. But however, since it doesn´t seem to stop: For me this post is very problematic to be honest. While I personally can understand why Lego makes the things they do the way they do and I don´t have a problem with that, I kinda still would prefer them to be more accurate in that matter honestly - calling everyone sexist who thinks that way is just insulting and stubborn to me. Exactly this. Well that argument is way off. Majisto has to be male because he was - there is a difference between changing an certain iconic character and just changing a random knight. They could have decided to include a female wizard instead of Majisto in the Lion Knights castle, but obviously they wanted to have the Iconic Wizard included - as for the workshop. It is Majistos Workshop, so that wouldn´t work here.

For me the minifigs they choose make sense. If there is a Pirate ship there would need to be the Captain obviously. But for a little heist with a rowboad you wouldn´t send the captain, right? You´d rather send some crewmates for that job.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Black Falcon replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like that ones. But I doubt we will see them returning since they tend to build stuff more detailed now -
Seems unlikely to me. I mean in general it would be likely they use it for an alien, but when you look at the leak the third eye is rather high - and that piece would cover it IMO.

Where? I see members of this forum posting that statement, but I haven´t seen Lego doing so. In the end I don´t see the reason to bring that discussion up for every historical Set are releasing.

Honestly, I was kinda expecting a moulded head and not only normal minifig parts. We´ll have to see what helmet they will be wearing but would guess for a normal space helmet.

What next vintage set could be recreated by TLG ?
Black Falcon replied to Khargeust's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well the goat was in the Mill Village Raid though so don´t see that affecting the price of the MMV. And that ones prices didn´t really decrease after the cows came to pick a brick, even though the goat surely has a bigger influence on the overall price of the set than the cows had. But anyways, while the goats price might go down, I don´t think it will make the goat that cheap (that version at least) I actually would guess it might even stay above 20€, but really hard to guess in the end. But as long as Lego doesn´t make one that looks similar to that one people might still want to have that one. -

Well the good thing is it will be cheaper than the original ;). And if you are going to get some Pick a brick goats don´t forget the CMF ones. Always good to have some diversity in both animals and townsfolk. That beeing said, even getting the new set now, I still would like to have the old sets. Don´t care much about the set actually but would love to have the civilians and animals. -

Since we are getting a new Blacktron-Ship next year it can´t have been that bad. And it was actually quite fair priced IMO. Howevern I actually was surprised it is already retiring, although one year is a quite common duration. I am not that sure how that set was received be non-nostalic Afols honestly. I would have liked an more renewed look actually. Well I actually am happy we got a castle in that size, as with 100€ today you can´t do that much anymore, honestly. Sure I would have liked the set to be a bit less expensive, but for me it looks just perfect - (if we ignore the ramp) Well while they will focus on older, more iconic sets, with the Medieval Town Square we are getting a newer Set remade actually. To be fair that one is one of the very iconic (and expensive) ones just as the set where the Goat originated from. However that one clearly has the price only because of the Goats, the horse and the villagers (although Medieval Market Village might be the same to some extend) While that might be true, and this group surely is bigger than younger people that are willing to spend that much on Lego, I wouldn´t generalize to much there. I mean there are also young people that are having a good income and can just aford to spend a lot money on Lego and generally there are way more singles out there than there were in the past that don´t have to spend their money on kids (yet) -
A real set will have a way bigger budget than the GWP had. And all of the big Retro Sets so far had only prints, so I don´t see them changing that. There isn´t really a rule how many normal CMFs we will get. Last year we had two normal Series, this year it was one. Next year will be one normal Series, one other Lego Series and likely the third might be licensed again, but we don´t know anything about that one yet. We got Series 24 this year and then Disney and Marvel, so I only see one non-Licensed there.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
Black Falcon replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well I don´t think she actually is meant to be Red Sonia but is based on her ;). In the end it is not a licensed series so it can´t be her actually ;) I do actually like that sword, looks like a barbarian sword to me ;) - Also Basil is still one of my favourites together with the Goat. For me the head still looks yellow, would be surprised if it would be a different colour.- 574 replies

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would have been hape to have that kind of print for Majisto. Maybe with an little bag added on the cord, and I would be perfectly happy -
Yeah, well just see it as saved money then ;). However to be honest, with the set coming closer to release we got different leaked infos that now were revealed to be lies. The Set was said to have two minifigs and prints for Majistos skirt. So naturally, those two things, together with the missing shield were a huge disappointment when the leaked picture showed up - but also beeing honest, I was hoping to see prints on Majisto but wouldn´t have really expected them, same as I wouldn´t have expected a second knight, since the original set had only one already. So while I had kinda to high expectations and there was indeed a big dissapointment at first, the set has already grown on me with time. Still wishing for the shield though. Yeah, well I never heard that term for this faction. Any special reason why they are called this? Well people guessed to have a Dragon Knight remake in that Set to get the helmet, plume, shield for the GWP. But that was kinda unlikely, because to many parts exclusive to the CMF would be used in the GWP then. Limited Edition is just their standart they have put on GWPs for a while now. And well on the box we will just have to agree to disagree, which is perfectly fine. The question actually is, does anybody really understand the source material? You never know why they made something like they did. For instance the Black falcons also had black helmets and since the Lion knights had grey ones, it is quite easy to asume that they had the black helmets to show the difference between both factions - but later there are actually also black falcons with grey heads in the old sets. Now when they updated the black falcons for the Medieval Blackssmith, and redesigned them, they gave them a diverent coulour - they kept their blue torso but instead of the arms and legs beeing black they got an other colour for it, and the helmet and armour aren´t black either. So now you could say the designer had no glue what he was doing, but I actually like that redesign better than the original one - in the Lion Knights Castle the black Falcons however are wearing black helmets - and I really prefer the one from the Blacksmith. So while beeing more true to the original in my opinion a redesign doesn´t always have to make everyting just as they did in the original. That beeing said. Black helmets exist, and it would have been easy for the designer to use that one instead of the one he choose. However the one he used doesn´t exist in black so he likely had to decide whether he used the black one or whether he wanted to have the knight wearing a plume, even if it is not the dragon one and he choose to have the plume. I see nothing wrong with an discussion (as long as it stays civil ofc) in the end that is the use of a forum.

Most of the stuff in you could use as details are pearl gold, which would just not fit into that build at all. Uhm, which knights exactly are you reffering to here? Well I wouldn´t have minded if they would have made another gwp of an existing faction. But I think they wanted to do something that is just very Iconic. I can´t agree with that. To me the overall build looks good - I am not a big fan of the door though. I mean it makes sense to include but it looks just to little for a door. The biggest problem I have with the remake is actually the missing shield. I can live with them not having the helmet and the plume as it was clear we wouldn´t get that ones. I really like that one. It is like an more modernized version of the original Boxart. I get that the set and the box both aren´t really your taste but you can never please everyone. However just because it doesn´t match your desires doesn´t mean the designers did a bad job. In the end they can´t influence the limitations they have.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
IMO it gets more confusing the more threats are there. Just look at the CMF 25. It got discussed in its own thread, in the thread of the medieval towns square, and at least 5 other ;). -
A brick built dragon head would be way to big to even fit there (both visually and size wise), so I actually belive including the blume is the better option. They could have just skipped it though, but actually aside from beeing some dragon-decoration it also adds some colour to the build (and if you don´t like them you can just not add them).

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sure it is possible, but if they are going to do more remake shields, they would likely have the one included they need for the GWP. So I think it will be either no new shields at all, or just no new remake shields of other factions. I don´t actually think the basil one would be that much cheaper than making an other one. The only cost you would be saving is the one for the print. Well actually we are missing both the blue and yellow black falcon, but I like the reimagined design better anyways, so there is no need to bring back the same shield with two new colours IMO. The grey shield is just plain but got I don´t think the mould for that one still exists - and just adding a plain grey shield would be kinda boring, however I could see them adding it for the blacksmith as unfinished shield. Aside from that we are missing the shields from 383 Knight's Joust It is new and actually my favourite too. If it was for me they could have skipped the other two and used the budget for something else, like Prints on Majisto. ;) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Actually the Series is already discussed there in the 2024 Space sets and LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion Thread (among others in others), so I don´t think it actually will need its own thread. -
Nice List, there are some animals there, I was not even aware they exist. The List doesn´t seem to be complete though, at least I can see some horses missing but I guess the List starts with animals introduced on a certain date?

Exactly this. I mean it looks good and all, besides the roof seems a bit to massive to me compared to the rest of the building. But with Majisto already beeing a quite big GWP and that one needing even more parts, it is just not GWP size anymore. The BURP piece has three major advantage in the GWP: it was used in the original Set and so it helps keeping the flair of the original one you can build a great part of the model using just a one part instead of several bricks you have more space inside because it doesn´t use as much space as you would with normal parts Noone said you couldn´t. But in fact the normal bricks do need more space so the model needs to be bigger. While the original and the GWP both are 12 studs wide, that moc needs two studs more for the base of the building.
