I don´t think it would need to be named after it, since it is just stealing the eggs and isn´t the main Dinosaur in the Set. Also, if they used that mould they could just use it as any Raptor, similar to them using a newer Dilophosaurus mould without movable legs. Anyways, wouldn´t be surprised if we would see tomorrow.

The Jungle Sets look pretty good. Just wish we could get just the animals with Sidebuild without the vehicles. Not really interested in those at all (even if they are honestly well done too).

I think the main reason, why they didn´t do it, is because it would limit the people wo are going to buy it to the people that are buying the city-space Sets, while the calendar should appeal to citiy fans of the "normal" city sets.

Yeah, we are basically still waiting for reveals of the themes/sets I am most looking forward to, City Jungle, Harry Potter and Jurrasic Park/World. I guess we will see all of them tomorro then, after all the reveals today.

I think in the last years, as Lego became more and more popular especially among adults, the value of Lego and especially older products has become more and more known, not only among AFOLs. So while most thieves surely won´t know which set does have value and which doesn´t, I wouldn´t say they have no idea that it does have value at all, and so might still take it with them.

I think a Forum is a way better place to discuss things than social media anyways. Way better structure and it is easier to spot when someone replies to you than other more traditional sources like blogs.

My first thought was it would have has to be the baby mould, but reading the polish block again, it has to be something bigger, since they state that it is trying to eat the eggs from the Stegosaurus. So the Beta-Mould seems possible to me. Would be possible, that they would just use the one from the January Wave again though. That would also be possible, though I still would think a reuse of the January Beta-version seems the most likely option.

All 4 House-Animals are included. They are the same, yes. Would have been very unlikely they would do new ones for it. However very happy that we are getting them outside of the Sorting hat set now, especially in a less expensive one. The Advent calendar looks pretty good to me and even better, they reduced the price compared to last year and are back to the price we had two years ago. Wish they woudn´t include Draco and Cho again though, but someone else. Harry is mandatory anyways. As for the other figures, great lineup. Did we actually see the Carol Ghost somewhere in the Films? I tried to find a picture (or video) of it but wasn´t able to find anything.

I love this kind of information too. Always interesting to learn more about a design process and why they did certain things the way they did. Also love the note from the designer that they added the fruit to show that the beetle is eating vegetables and his kid said it would be cool because it laid it´s eggs on a leaf. They stated that they would post that kind of Article for every minifigure in the lineup, so I would guess we will get one every day now (and Ice Planet and Orion were already posted)

It does. And IMO it does belong to the family ;) This calendar looks way more like christmas than the previous ones, where we always had Santa in but most of the minifigures were not different from the ones you get normally. Now every single one looks like Christmas.

Good and Bad news I guess. On one side Allosaurus surely is better than yet another T-Rex but on the other side I would have prefered The Lost World Sets and especially the Stegosaurus one doesn´t sound really exiting aside from the Stegosaurus. If they would have made the TLW-Set there would be no way they would have done just one Stegosaurus, since it would need a yound and a Adult one - and the side build would have had to include enviroment and not yet another truck, quad, lab etc.

With the Set beeing avaiable only on Amazon and Lego, it would more seem to me that it is a semi-exclusive Set, that will very likely stay exclusive to those two.

Disagreeing doesn´t mean you are wrong in this matter (hence I especially wrote that it is totally fine that you have another opinion) but just that I have a different opinion about it. Of course you are also free to not care what my opinion is, though in general a forum like this lives from people that are talking about their opinons, what they would like to see Lego make, what they like/don´t like about Sets revealed etc.

You could say that the former City space theme was playing today and now we see how that space programm turns out to be in the future. The city label doesn´t has to mean that it plays today. I think we had that topic at least two times already. And none of the socalled claims and evidence about some big conspiracy that doesn´t allow Lego to do any nonlicenced space outside of other themes made any sense at all. But well guess it is ongoing. I´d rather say that you are in the mayority here, since most people don´t care with what the set is labeled, as long as they like the set itself. Just look at how many people in this forums started to buy friends sets, despite stating that they don´t like mini dolls at all. So if people don´t get turned off by the figures included as long as the set is cool, I don´t see why they would be turned off by a logo, you don´t even see once you built it. The only part where I would disagree with you is, that it would have to be inhouse themes. For me that best Space Set Lego recently made is the XL-15 from Lightyear, even better than the Galaxy Explorer or the Interstellar Spaceship, which are both great too. So yeah I got that one, just for the ship, despite not caring about the IP or the Minifigs at all. And I think most others don´t care either, though of course it is find if you do. I would rather say that Space is the big theme here and City Space, Friends Space etc. are the subthemes of that in a matter. Just look at the marketing. There are even space shop displays where all different Space topics are gathered. And yes sure, there is no Space-standalone theme, but how does that matter in any way? And that comparism doesn´t make any sense at all. If you would say that City Space is not Classic Space, fair enough. But it is still space. The naming of interstellar Spaceship would actually make me think that it is based outside or our solar system. But in the end, it will just play everywhere kids want it to play anyways.

I would say it might take till end of the year before they are avaiable without selling out right away. But also possible they are moved to bestsellers faster then it is possible that happens already a bit earlier.

I think another reason might be that the original Classic space minifigures already came in various colours and they already added more colours of them with time and people started to collect them. So it clearly made more sense to keep with the same design rather than changing it. And even some of those had different faces than the classic smile, though later they used the classic smile again. That beeing said it is an even more odd choice for me to use other faces again like they do with the Diner GWP or the two extended line sets, especially with the city minifigures avaiable that would fit better there IMO. I don´t actually think that the Castle GWPs (Majisto more than the Forestmen one, though) are much more different from their originals than the Galaxy Explorer or Blacktron cruiser- aside from the minifigures. The other Castle Sets obviously are an completely different attempt but the Eldorado Fortress to me is more in line with the Space Sets than the Castle ones, even if it might be a bit less close to the original with the added ship and the modularity.

The purple butterfly looks unprinted to me and is used as petals in the 10329 Tiny Plants Set. The small owl looks ligth than to me, but could aswell be the same as in the harry potter Set or another similar colour. Kinda hard to tell in that tiny picture

And for that the question would be how much they would need to update the older sets to appeal enough. Either way the sets could use the old colours, but they would still look quite different from the original sets, likely more than the Galaxy Explorer update did.

I wouldn´t agree with that. I would rather say Space and Pirates are quite close to their original design, while castle is taking a different way with creating new sets instead of updating old sets - aside from GWPs at least. I would agree however, that Space is the only theme that didn´t really update the minifig design - and while for the classic space miniifgure I don´t see the need for it, I would have prefered to get an update for the blacktron minifigure.

It was clear they would be brickbuid. since we already had the information it would be a sidebuild for buckbeak and the moulded one would be way to small for it.

It does seem quite unlikey they would bring a CMF faction back, though of course you never know since the Raven Knights seem to be a very popular faction - but for that they would have to do a normal Castle theme again first.

Since they started to celebrate their Harry Potter day last year, I think it is save to asume that both the Set and the GWP will be released on September 1st.

The one you posted is actually the one that is the least appealing. Though the main issue for me would still be that it does depend a lot on which minifigs would be included. I have no interest at all in city figures, so themed sets would be the best. Like one including Classic Space minifigures in several colours, another different Castle minifigures, and one with pirate, adventure etc. Though I don´t think it is likely Lego would do such sets now, since they would need 5 printed torsos each, then maybe some printed faces or even hair pieces that are already retired. And with bringing back older minifigures in an updated way already it seems even less likely they would do something like that.

There is a difference on what their decisions what sets they are doing are based on and what they use for marketing. Basically the site lists all historical based sets including the creator pirate ship and the snow white cottage. So everything Fans of historical Sets could like. But while Lego surely also considers all other similar Sets they have in production aswell as how good other Medival themed Sets sell, I still think we have a better chance for another Space Set next year, than for another castle one.
