Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Dark blue/black is a strange colour for a T-Rex. The buildable Ankylosauros is also disappointing, would have expected another fossil there. Both sets are a miss to me but the Stegosaurus is really great to get. I hope it comes with 4 movable Legs. Overall I would have hoped, that since they are doing two waves of sets, we would get more than just 5 Sets in total, though of course we knew the numbers for a while now. -
My impression from this series didn´t really change much from seeing the better pictures, still somewhat disappointed from it. In the end it is what I expected though, a series with a mix of older and newer minifigures. but I would have expected some more retro figures still. My favourite is the Alien tourist, wouldn´t wonder if that will turn out to be the top minifigure from this series, Ice Planet and M-Tron Figures are pretty cool too. Not that much a fan of what they did with the Blacktron 2 figure, would probably have been better to do a blacktron 2 figure and an alianated new figure on their own. Worst figure for me is the robot with the little aliens inside. The idea is good, but I just don´t like how the minifigure looks. Were they? As well in the Historic Forums as in the CMF thread there were quite positive opinions about the figure overall and I can´t remember much complains about it beeing a vampire. Especially, since as mentioned above, to swap the head is quite easy.

It is possible, sure. but in the end we already know that some elements are inlcuded, like the swapable heads, the frame and not to forget the license itself that will draw the price of this set up.

And City Space has the classic Space logo. You could aswell see them as a more modern form of classic space or futuron. The CMF has several retro figures and some unique new ones. I do have to admit, I am still somewhat disappointed with the CMF but City Space has a bunch of cool sets. Sure their design is more based on actual space and maybe less futuristic than the old Sets. But I built the intergalactic spaceship a few days ago and it is really good.

Yeah well I didn´t count it in above, as that was only about the retro Sets, which the Creator 3in1 Set doesn´t belong to. Eitherway whether we look at the retro Sets or Sets overall the Pirates Theme is the one with the least Sets, while Space gets the most, though if we are talking about Retro Sets Castle might be leading, though the Medieval Town Square and Lion Knights castle take a different approach than the Retro-Sets from Space and Pirates Well Pirates and Castle might be based on their historical models more than Space, but both - especially castle also are based to a big part of fantasy. Anyways I wouldn´t agree that they look too much the same as they had many different approaches over the years, especially the castles of the Knights Kingdoms Era do look quite different from the first castles Lego made, Fantasy Era had a Dwarven Mine and a Troll Fortress we never had before and the Dragons of the later Series didn´t look anything like the ones they had earlier. If we are looking at todays Sets, the Lion Knights Castle looks very different from any of the older Sets and both the Eldorado Fortress and Galaxy Explorere, even though based on older Sets looked quite different too just by the way todays sets are built with all the new bricks and building techniques. Space in general of course is more open but I wouldn´t actually say one set would look out of place next to another (unless it would be a older set next to an newer one because of the building techniques again), since Space lives from different Factions and several eras would just make a more lively space populated by many different species.

What is regulary for you? Lego just started to make those kind of sets two years ago. Baracuda Bay might have played a role in the return of those sets but isn´t part of it and even if you count it those are two Sets, one in 2020 and one in 2023 - with three years in between. So if you look at space you got the Galaxy Explorer in 2022, and actually even though it was a GWP we would have to count the Blacktron Cruiser too since it even brought a faction back and was a revival of an old set. If we are taking 3 years as the "regular release" of a bigger set as that is the time between the release of the Barracuda Bay and the Eldorado Fortress then the next bigger retro Space Set would be due next year. But anyways I don´t think it works like that so Lego might do such a set next year - or not. Honestly it is possible that they decided that with the City Space Sets around, they won´t make a classic Set for this year but I don´t think we are done with it, especially if we are looking at the GWP that sold out rather quick, so they still doing those kind of Sets. Aside from all this, I get your disappointement about the Black Space ship, since getting nothing when we are just hopping to get something is bad enough, but after all this rumours and us basically expecting a renegade remake, it is an even bigger disappointement. Especially with the info that they would belong to an own Icons Subtheme that sounded pretty much like it was made for Retro Sets. There was a second Set rumoured to be under that Subtheme where we had no info about yet but that will mean that this one will also based on the movie then. I guess we can only hope for new Pirate and Space Sets for next year, since if released this year we would likely already have informations about it. Or at least some good GWPs for any of the Classic Themes this year - we will see.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
We usually only learn about that once if shows up at certain places. And if it is the case it will be exclusive to Lego for at least 3 months, so it will need some patience. -
The GWP was, but it doesn´t seem like we are getting a set to buy this year. If you are looking in the pirates-section, you will pretty much see the same complains. When Castle and Space got the Galaxy Explorer and Lion Knights Castle they got nothing. Last year the got Eldorado, which didn´t please all of them either - well this year Pirates only got a follow up set if you are counting the Barracuda Bay, which surely had a similar appeal but the Eldorado Fortress isn´t really a follow up set to that one. It is more a follow up set to the Galaxy Explorer and the Lion Knights Castle, since Pirates didn´t got a Set for the 90s jubilee. I don´t get all this this theme got this, and that theme got that anyways - in the end we should all be happy we are getting those sets at all. I could also state that Space gets a own CMF or that it gets it´s own subtheme for city - surely it isn´t classic space but it is space. If we are beeing honest, Space, Pirates and Castle all longed for getting new Sets for a long time. And if Lego would have made new Sets of any of these themes, none of that would have been like the classic sets we got decades ago.

Well, they wouldn´t have had to add Dice made of Lego but could have also used normal ones.- 686 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Black Falcon replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
If an order drops below a threshold due to them canceling something from your order, shouldn´t the shipping still be free then? -

Yeah, I like the Set but it is obvious that the Lion Knights Castle is the better Deal. Though I think there are still surpisingly many prints in it, especially compared with the Medieval Town Square - on the other side the low Number of Minifigures might be the reason for that. Anyways that it is marked as Exclusive isn´t really surprising, but I would still guess it will actually just beeing Semi Exclusive - though those sets usually don´t get that high discounts either, depending of which of Lego´s Partners actually gets it.- 686 replies

It is hard to take you serious, when you always complain about Sets that you think are awefull but you buy and build them anyways. Especially with the way you are wording those critics. -

I would guess they did the other trees in brown because that is the more natural look - and the big tree in black because it was done that way in the fan design - and it might also be a link to the older Sets and Lion Knights Castle where they have done it the same way - also possible it was easier for them because more of the parts needed might be Production than in brown.- 686 replies

I was afraid of something like this. Well just saved money in the end. But also a good choice IMO to make a set that is related but not really that much bound to the film as it might appeal some people that don´t care about Pharrell Williams or the Movie at all - depending on how good it turns out to be ofc.
-
One of the reasons why I asked for the source, but fateful is quite reliable, isn´t he? Of course we don´t know if he got it from the same source than all the other info´s he leaked but I guess he wouldn´t post them if they wouldn´t be reliable.

Hmm, for me it did sound like the Rainbow pooping Unicorn just turned into a spaceship. I would still guess it is a Spaceship model and not only something like a 3d picture. Likely more related to the Everyone is awesome Set than to actually older Spacesets, though. What still doesn´t make sense to me is the Atlantis Apts writing. I mean, Atlantis could be the name of the Spaceship, that wouldn´t be really off but what is Apts supposed to mean? The only thing that comes to my mind is Arpartements, which doesn´t really make sense on a spaceship. So maybe the one that shared the info has read it wrong from some bad quality pic, which would make most sense to me. Or it has some meaning I am just missing here. Third option would be that it would be a complete fake but then they wouldn´t add such an info that doesn´t seem to make much sense I guess.

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
very unlikely, obviously it will be open on the sides for the arms, but I don´t see that happening for the back as there is no other reason for it other than to make it fit with wings and such but oposing to that it would just look very bad to have the Armor on the front only for every other character than the Aarakocra. So yeah I think the chances for that happening are very low and I am actually happy about that.- 686 replies

The infos we had before said it would be a new part for the wings of the Aarakocra and I think if they would have done the Harpy now, they would have used it but both Series have 8 months between them, so I think the planning on the Harpy one was to far when they decided on the Aarakocra and it´s wings. Especially since when you decide to do new wings it will still need some time till they are designed and the mould is done.- 686 replies

Well I will wait for Pics before I judge it but it sounds kinda strange. Where do those infos come from anyways? I mean it doesn´t sound like something that would be completely unlikely from Lego, but especially the writing is something that just sounds off to me. Or I just don´t get the meaning.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Black Falcon replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really do like that one. Though, a shield with a Dragon on it doesn´t really scream High Elven to me. To me the dragon looks a bit strange but I really need to see better pictures of it. -

I was really worried about how the Aarakocra would look and am really pleased that it looks really good (even if the head is a bit to big IMO and it looks a bit toonish). Definitely one of my favourite figures from this cmf. Others I really like are the Dragonborn with a lot of great new pieces/prints and the druid (love the bird). Overall a lot of great new pieces and prints.- 686 replies

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It is actually funny when people complain about the Set beeing smaller, when it is often criticized, that they would be to big. And overall I would say the size difference isn´t that big - the inn looks a bit smaller and maybe the width of the whole Set is a bit smaller also, and you are right about the rocks, though I think the tower itself is actually bigger than in the fan design. I like both Dragons, but the green one was build to fit around the tower, which looks really good, but when you have the dragon on itself, the wings just look terrible really - whereas the red dragons wings look much better, though he wouldn´t fit around the tower like the green one, which also is something that many complained about, but I actually think this was a good choice. In the end there are always things that are better in either the fan design or the Set and it is pretty much based on your own tastes. There are some neat details in the set and things like the dragon that I like there, but also things like the inn that were better in the fan design. I guess there was a reason for the roof design of the inn, since it looks really strange but I can´t say what that would be. I guess the Designer interview will show.- 686 replies

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
You can keep saying the same stuff over and over, which doesn´t make it any more true. Lego won´t run Dreamzzz for years if it isn´t doing well. I think you should try to keep a bit more to facts. I mean you don´t have to like any of those themes, that is perfectly fine. But to claim themes would sell bad, when they don´t and so on are not. Especially Ninjago is selling well for years, and while it might be a joke for you, it obviously isn´t for many others. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The article you linked, doesn´t really support what you are writing. It is true, they have a longer plan for this theme, though he states 3-4 years not 4-6. Also it is said nowhere, that the theme isn´t doing well, but quite the opposite that they are pleased with how it is doing so far. A long time plan doesn´t mean, a theme won´t be canceled if it isn´t doing well. They had longer plans for Vidiyo and it got canceled.
