How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
I see, that one looks actually quite good conisdered it is brick build. Usually not a fan of brickbuild creatures, unless they reach a certain size. Very likely they would do something similar to that with the dragons, moulded head and wings -if they don´t use foil for those. And the rest brick build. At least I don´t see them doing moulds for the whole dragons, but who knows. -
Well, the Lego Movie came before that and did pretty well too though ;). In the end neither of them was the first, nor was it the last. In the end Barbie Movie is a comedy Movie, and while a Ninjago Movie will surely also have some elements of that, I doubt it will be one too. Also Lego and Universal signed the contract in 2020 so there is like no reason to think they are just doing it because the Barbie movie did well - especially since a Ninjago Movie will be aimed at kids, whereas Barbie Movie was clearly targeted towards adults. As for the Pharell Williams movie, that isn´t a Lego movie. It is a movie made in Lego style, but aside from that has not much to do with Lego - and I doubt many Lego Fans will watch it if they are not fans of Williams too.

How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aren´t the Ninjago Dragons way bigger than the HTTYD ones would be? Is it? I mean, it was mentioned in this thread a few times that they have done the same with other franchises like Indiana Jones - making Sets for the existing stuff, where it is quite safe that people want it, instead of making it for a film where noone knows yet how well it will do. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fair point, I honestly didn´t think about that part lol. Anyways, still hoping it is something else. And actually it is quite a short time for a marvel series again, and there are just so many other IPs they can do.... -

Well basically all toy companies are a Lego competitor ;) - but no IP Holder will give a licensing agreement where a toy company gets the IP exclusive for all kinds of toys. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well personally, I don´t care much about either of them, but I guess Fortnite could have some more cool minifgs than Marvel. And since last Marvel didn´t seem to do that well another one would actually surprise me. So yeah, hoping it rather is Fortnite then. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, I would guess Simpson would have a better chance to get a CMF than How to train your Dragon. But I wouldn´t say noone would want to have the minifigs. I mean you can add baby dragons to them and we shouldn´t forget that even without any dragon at all they would still remain viking minifigs and historic minifigs usually aren´t the ones that are running that bad ;). So I could see many people getting them for the parts alone, not caring about the theme - similar to D&D now. And honestly, I do like Dragons but the Dragons of that series are way to comic-like and not really something I would be looking forward to. -

He means other themes. For JW we don´t even know when the second wave of Sets will release yet. I would guess later than that for sure. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Black Falcon replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wolfpack Renegades is a Set I mentioned as such several times - about the other two, not sure really.I mean there are so many small sets out there they could do and those two aren´t just the ones that come to mind first for me. I don´t think gold would really be that much better. Probably even worse. Also it is called yellow castle so I doubt they would change the colour anyways. -
Lawsuit TLG against Dutch Retailer Wibra

Again, some things went wrong there, but it isn´t like Lego told their Designer, go and copy this. -
Lawsuit TLG against Dutch Retailer Wibra
Black Falcon replied to JopieK's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, come on. You can´t really compare a situation where a Designer rebuilt a Moc of someone else, that was later sent to someone, with stealing someones Moc to sell it. There were some things going wrong there for sure, but you can´t really say they intentional stole the Moc. They also took their time to clear things up both per mail and in a teams call - try that with an company selling your design and you won´t even get an answer most of the time. Bluebrixx might be doing their own designs too (now), but they have been selling stolen MOCs too. And they still don´t care about other´s companys IPs. I would say that pretty much depends on your own taste. But kinda funny when I think about that many don´t like the black boxes Lego uses for their Adult Sets, which is basicallly a similar design to the white box. -
Wouldn´t surprised if the sails show up on Pick a Brick at some point - for like 100€ or so, so would stay the better option to just buy the ship and use the parts instead of buying the sails alone. Doubt there will be a good price for them on Brickling either since I don´t really see anything else that would make it worth parting out really. So probably Bricklink might be an option for single sail pieces but I doubt it will be a good source for the complete set.

Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, but that would be the case for sets where we have indication that there is a big moulded creature included. But for those we will have to wait for the summer wave I guess. Shouldn´t take long till we at least get the names for the january sets, just two more months till they release. Actually surprising we didn´t get any info about it yet. -
Is it? I mean sure, kids might sometimes play scenes from the films, but playing in a certain franchise doesn´t mean they can´t play their own, madeup adventures. And in the end, IMO making up names is probably the least creative part in play and whether they play Harry Potter and use the spells from the books/films or use Abrakadabra instead in a unlicensed world - I don´t see much difference either. In the end it will probably more depend on the kids themselves rather than if it is licensed or unlicensed.
-
I´m actually surprised that it still was around, since we didn´t see it in any Set this year IMO and the last set it was included retired last year. Anyways, since many sets will retire towards the end of the year, many parts will retire too and they already made a list last year for them. That doesn´t mean of course that there still can be one included that will reappear with a new number. But it actually would be a good opertunity to make a brown sheep next year, so I hope we will get that instead.

Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well I am not a fan of comparing price per piece of sets to tell wether it is an expensive set or not for this very reason. But that is also the reason, why we can tell (in a certain range only ofc) what kind of dinosaur we could expect, because especially the bigger dinosaurs always increase the price per piece ratio by a huge margin, because they are made of expensive parts. That beeing said. I don´t think the smaller Set will have any dinosaur included (the only one I could see there would be a baby raptor) and the bigger one, I could see one Atrociraptor, but not two. Wouldn´t be surprised if there is just one or two dino childs included actually. -

The price to piece ratio of the smaller one points more towards a buildable skull than of the bigger one. Both don´t really indicate that we get a bigger dinosaur though. But yeah, the piece count of the smaller one is less than in the T-Rex one, but maybe they do only a skull this time - or it is just smaller. Could just aswell turn out to be something else, like another buildable dinosaur. -
While I do agree with the first part, I can´t really agree with the second. Who says you have to take the pieces of classic Space and build another classic space set? Just build whatever you like. And if you build an classic faction with some new colours, maybe some people (most probably will not care) will say it isn´t Ice-Planet or whatever - but I doubt they will dislike the MOC just because of that. You could also argue that most of the SW ships are grey, so you are limited in what you display also, colour-wise - but honestly, before that license came up people also used colourful bricks to build Star Wars ships - especially kids won´t care that much about that detail. That beeing said. I don´t think there is really much difference whether something is licensed or not. In the end you can build a licensed Ship from whatever license exists in the world our of unlicensed Sets and your own madeup ship from a licensed set.

What is your favorite Space set? (One only!)
Black Falcon replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
To me the best and most unique ship is the 6979 Interstellar-Starfighter. I mean, especially the light and sound feature is really cool. Wish they would do something like that today. -

As far as I am aware we only have price and piece count for the January wave, if I didn´t miss something. And the smaller Set will very likely not include any Dino at all - I would guess it will be another buildable skull. As for the bigger of the sets, there could be a small dinosaur included, but I don´t really see two Atrociraptors there either. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Black Falcon replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don´t see them doing a yellow castle, aside from maybe a small Set (GWP, insiders reward). I mean, how many people would really be interested in that? I don´t even see most Castle fans wanting it, aside from people that had the original maybe, so in my mind the demand for such a Set is very limited. Especially a giant one, which would limit people buing it way more. -
Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Black Falcon replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I certainly wouldn´t mind both ;). I mean I love the Lion Knights Castle, I also like the Town Square but also the Forestmen GWP - and even the Majisto one, even if it was lacking at some points - and I certainly wouldn´t mind to get some more GWPs. But I also would love to get smaller, cheaper castle Sets. Like they could make a Wolfpack Tower for instance and release a small raid on a carriage GWP alongside with it. But I don´t really see them doing smaller Sets as buyable Sets in the near future sadly. -
I wouldn´t say it is dead as for never happening again, but we won´t get more than an Icons Set for the theme in the future (or a GWP). That beeing said they will very likely make it using Trans Bright green and without Magnets. Well we do get a Blacktron Set next year if the rumours aren´t wrong, and M-Tron and Ice-Planet are probably the next most Iconic Space factions after Classic Space, so M-Tron seem like a solid choice for the next one. Would still probably be released 2028 or so, if Lego doesn´t decide to do more Icons retro Sets each year - could aswell be later if they choose to make an other faction first or decide on doing an Adventurers or Western Set inbetween ofc.

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well I would bet we get two at least, one D2C and one D2C GWP ;). Joking aside, we still have to see though if we will get a playset or something else. I mean if we consider getting the Balrog it could be a Playset, a Buildable Figure or a Diorama. -

Have to agree here. While it is a fun Set and sure has some usefull parts, all the exclusive ones aren´t really suitable for castle. That beeing set I like the set for what it is, but probably wouldn´t have been a must have for me. Still hoping that we will get a castle GWP set this year, though. We are getting slowly towards the end of the year, so there might not be that much time left for it - especially with no rumour or mention of one yet. And not sure if they will do a castle GWP for Insiders again, because we already had it there last year.
