Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Black Falcon replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The thing is, would Lego really want to call a normal wolf a beast? I mean they have been hunted and killed for centuries because people made stories about them and feared them. I can´t really see Lego going that route. I could see them doing the Wolfpack Bandit with a normal Wolf however, but then I don´t think Lego will call it Beastmaster - but wouldn´t be the first time we get some missleading/missinterpreted descriptions of those figures. -

Not that strange IMO. We just got a T-Rex first and the Pteranodon has a more unique look than the raptor has IMO. I could see them doing a Brachiosaurus next, and maybe then a raptor - if they keep doing Dino Costumes, that is. -

That would be my hope too, but for that the name kinda doesn´t fit. I mean sure, it wouldn´t be that uncommon to call a wolf beast, but then it would probably have a more beastly look than looking like an actual natural wolf. They could aswell just add some fantasy beast ofc. Well eitherway, I guess it will be a figure that many people would want eitherway, especially if they would add a shield - I wouldn´t get my hopes up to much either though, since beastmaster isn´t really something that would have to have one - not including it on the other side would seem like a wasted opportunity to me though. -

The thing with such predictions is, since they are quite vague, it is easy to claim you got it right in the end. I mean like you said you could take the quote you quoted for Helms Deep, the Fellowship for a Set containing the Fellowship or take it as a Set from the first Movie. About the reliability from what I heard he seems pretty reliable. But with what we got, the question would be how reliable are our interpretations of them? ;) -
21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don´t see how any of this could get anyone in trouble really. Most of it is pretty commonly known or was talked about here and at other places already. I would kinda disagree here. It is among the less demanded figures, though I don´t think you really can tell one that is really selling the worst. The Paladin is clearly the one with the highest demand, but down on the other side there are more figures that have a quite similar demand. But if I had to name one selling worst, it would be Szass Tam. Eitherway, I do agree that the Dwarf is kinda disappointing. The only figure with plain legs, only a printed beard and the hair doesn´t look that dwarfish to me either. If they would have made a Dwarf in Armor (a printed one would be good enough) with a helmet and beard it would sell much better for sure.- 686 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, I don´t think that any reseller would buy his boxes for RRP though. And given that, investing in CMF seems like a save buiseness to me, since overall, even if you get figures that would go under rrp, others will sell for more. The main problem I see with them, it is a lot of work, unless you just try to sell full series, you might end up sending many single figures around. -
I neither said they wouldn´t return, nor that they shouldn´t. But if we are beeing honest, they are not really ones that have that high chances to come back anytime soon. Of course Lego could make other Africa Sets and include them or a City Ostrich Farm (well that one is probably very unlikely though) Well best way is you make a super famous Film where both of them are included and play important roles. Pay attention that it doesn´t end up as a friends set though ;). They are doing a Minifig-Scale Lion King movie? Or it will be included in the ideas Set for 100 years Disney?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To me it is totally unlikely that this is really a CMF series - well it might be done in the style of it but it won´t be a normal Series. I mean Vidiyo was sold alongside the normal series, same as those Mario Buildable creatures series were. So I don´t see that taking anything from a normal series happening. That was mere speculation. And unlike Team GB and DFB series which were clearly made for a certain country, F1 is a IP that is international - so that isn´t going to happen. As mentioned above, To me it seems unlike to be a normal series. But in the end it won´t make a difference if it is for the matter if it sells or not. -
Well they have done some again, that went out of stock pretty fast like the Classic Space-Mini-GWP and the Chest from Dungeons and Dragons. So those were definitely produced again. And yes there is no way they would or could offer all GWPs for a longer time span, since the benefit for Lego of them is that they can produce them and then free the storage space from it for the next GWPs.

The goat has a huge popularity among afols and as such among the designers aswell. Ostrich and camels don´t come near to that and the goat had the advantage that it can be more widely used in medieval and modern sets and that it is small enough to fit into a CMF. That doesn´t mean that it is impossible for them to return, it is just way more unlikely to happen soonish.

Doesn´t seem that unlikely to happen to me. If they are important enough for a story I could see them doing them without any other reuse. However I also would like to see camels and ostriches back in production. Just probably not very likely to happen anytime soon.

Exactly this. I do like GWPs. Sure you sometimes buy something you would get cheaper elsewhere. But normally I tend to buy sets you don´t normally get big discounts on - or if possible that are discounted on Lego aswell - though that often are ones I am not interested in anyways, so it doesn´t happen that often. Eitherway all this dicussion whether it are gifts or not seems to come up regulary, but doesn´t really lead anywhere. Basically, they are gifts as you would have to pay the same price without them - but of course there is a reason behind it and they do it to get more sales - and you don´t just get them, you have to buy something for it - and I think the term Gift with Purchase describes it perfectly fine and I do think everyone knows what it is about anyways. As mentioned above I do like GWPs. But I do understand that people would rather have them for sale - there are some Sets I would have liked to buy too, or some I would have liked to get, but I didn´t want to spend 200 bucks to get them. But everyone should know, that most of theses sets wouldn´t exist at all if they wouldn´t be made as GWPs. When I read some comments here it sounds like we would be able to buy all of them if they were not GWPs but that is totally unrelaistic in my opinion. So yeah, I rather have them as GWPs than not having them at all. Sounded perfectly fine to me ;).

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well of course nothing is really in scale to each other, especially with the UCS stuff around. A in scale Hogwarts would be insanly expensive and huge, but nonetheless a D2C would be even more out of scale to the rest. Would people buy it anyways? Sure. But I still think there are other locations that would benefit more from a D2C threatment than the privet drive would. -

I am actually not that sure if kids care that much about the characters, since I would guess they care way more about the dinosaurs than about them. Also, not sure what your claim that JP flopped is based on? Discounts so far are not different from other waves, so is there any source for that? -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The best options are either the Burrow if you want that one and the exclusive GWP, or the Arrival Set with the Durmstrang ship. Aside from Hogwarts it is probably the most Iconic Location that exists in the Films alongside Diagon Alley. Would actually say it is more Iconic than the Hogwarts Express Well the Hogwarts Castle is the first Big HP-Set we got, and yeah it is for sure the most Iconic Location. And I got it myself, but in the end if we connect all the playsets of each wave we basically got a big D2C-Size Set. So that beeing said, I am not sure if I would agree that the Castle would have to be the choice if they would make a single one only. It certainly isn´t an unlikely choice, sure but if I had to choose I would choose Diagon Alley over it. As for if we need to be everything done in detail. The answer would probably be no. And yes. And well, maybe. Since everyone would like to have another location in a better size where they can add more Details. Some don´t need to Burrow since they got the old one, others are happy about it. In the end I would say it doesn´t hurt anyone if they over it, since noone needs to buy every of the sets and can choose what they like the most. Sure the Location itself is iconic and got a lot screentime as it was present in most of the films. But as a Set I think that the Burrow is the way more iconic building since it has a very unique look. And a bigger version of the burrow benefits greatly from more room to display stuff, while with the Privet drive, I am not sure what the benefit would be from a big D2C version, compared to a 100€ Playset. Everything you would want to fit into it would fit into the Set IMO. And it would probably look pretty much out of scale compared to all other sets. Well aside from the Hogwarts Express maybe. Grimmauld Place, the Ministry of Magic, Hogsmeade, the Leaky Cauldron just to name a few. There is plenty of stuff they could do as a D2C set and at some point they will just start redoing sets they already made, so I certainly don´t see them running out of ideas. -

Very unlikely they make that, at least in the same way as they did with Mr. Gold as that resulted in to many ripped packages. They could make it as a normal figure but then no idea how many people would want that - personally I wouldn´t be interested honestly. -

End of next year, though I wouldn´t be surprised if they would change it to 2026. Yeah, sadly Sets seem unlikely at this point, for both playsets and a bigger set. -
That doesn´t look like it is from any particular set, but more like someone just had fun building something from the bricks he had.

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

Well honestly I am not surprised, given she doesn´t even seem to have a name in the books. Well in the end it isn´t really surpsing that she gets a bigger role, though we have to see if she is the only main character, like it seems in that trailer, which really would be a strange choice then, or they will tell the story of more charcters, like they did in the LotR when they partet ways. If that was the case the trailer would be strange then though, so the chances for that might not be that good. -
To be fair here, we don´t really know when or if any of the figures will be avaiable again. Sure likely they would rather make a new Spacemen colour than bringing the one from the CMF back. Classic colour obviously do have a way better chance to come back again but when it comes to other colours we only got in parts like the purple one we don´t really know if they are going to bring that one in a set that is avaiable for everyone. They have done so for the employee gift and they certainly can do it for another, same as they can do for the dark blue one. If they will, that has to be seen. I mean I wouldn´t have thought they would include the orange one in a Set either, after it was inclusive to the book - even if it basically isn´t the same minifigure without the tanks and classic face.

Well in the end, how many of the potential watchers are that deep into the lore to know those things? A large part of them might watch it because they liked the films but won´t know much about anything aside from that. Anyways, I´ll hope for some more teasers/trailers as we go towards december. -
Well it is not like they add them to make it hard to get, but rather to make them avaiable at all - and likely because they want to have them themselves. That beeing said, I do agree with you that it would rather be great to have them with easier access of course. I am still disappointed, that they didn´t use the purple spacemen, since they already made an employee exclusive set with it, for the space diner gwp - or any other gwp/set. And well the avaiability of the dark blue classic space-torso is bad anyways, since you can only get it in store, where many people don´t have any near them and additionally you will need luck that they even have them in stock.

Are those stories really told that extensive that we can tell if certain creatures appeared there? But yeah as mentioned before, noone really would expect the story to keep to close to the source anyways. The question will be in the end how well it would be executed anyways. Honestly the whole scene was strange. I mean, Helm was hit three times without any guard or anyone at all stepping in. As for the Hammer, you could say they keep on the picture we got from him from the Lord of the Rings Movies ;). -
