Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, it is not about what I prefer, but what is seen in the films. But to be fair I guess we have to agree on that the size is just not consistent in the film really. I mean, you can watch him walking though the halls and compare his size with the help of the pillars. When the Fellowship passes them, they are by far smaller than the Balrog. When the Balrog enters the Bridge (about 1:47 in your link, which is where I took the size from in the first place) it is also bigger compared to Gandalf then three seconds later - though not sure if the Balrogs size even changed, since Gandalf is bigger compared to the bridge there. Then when they are falling together the Balrog is again bigger compared to Gandalf - while in the second Movie the size difference is smaller again. Though it also depends on the Balrogs posture. Eitherway, I still think that a brickbuild Balrog is more likely than a moulded one. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Would really be surprising if they would do both in the same year.. Is there any info yet if the Blacktron 2 will be an actual Set or "just" a GWP? -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, when I look at it in the movies, the Balrog is at least 4 times as big as Gandalf - and that even though Gandalf is closer to the viewer and thus should look bigger because of the point of view. Also when they fall together it looks the same. -
It was just a survey in the first place with several ideas they had in mind. Surveys are made to see wether there is demand for something, and there was not much demand for it it seems. I mean you can never know if they won´t come up with something similar, but for now I don´t think they have any plans to do it.

Just that Lego Sets are based on the movies and not the books, and as mentioned in the post above mine, they are way bigger there ;). -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I would take it almost granted that we will get the Renegade. The Piece Count/Price seems to low for the Base and to high for the Alienator or the Battrax. Aside from that I think that a ship would sell better than a ground vehicle, and would especially work well for people that already bought the Galaxy Explorer. Actually a bit surprised we will already see it in January given how little and late we got infos about it. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

I would bet against that ;). I would guess so - though it will surely leak before that. -
Anyone know what the late November/December GWPs will be?
Black Falcon replied to icm's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Have to say I am pretty disappointed by this years Black Friday GWPs. Neither of those do interest me at all, but ofc that is only my personal opinion. As far as I know there is no other GWP between the Bookshelf and Insiders? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well there is a big difference between an Iconic game that adults played in their childhood and kids do play nowadays - not to forget that they were additions to Lego´s own Mario playworld. While Horizon has two Games and a Lego Game. Lego has done Racing cars in different sizes and styles for a long time some have been F1 style, some looked more like normal cars, and some just had very basic design. In the end I don´t think Kids will care much about the license, but they will be able to have fun playing with them. In the end they will be small cheap sets that dont really need any occasion to gift them. But as I said, there were so many rumours about them out there we still have to see how they will really turn out in the end. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well noone is saying they never did a bad series but a whole series for a a Video game still sounds unlikely to me. If they would expand the franchise further with a movie for instance, there might be a better chance however. And well, an other single minifig can just get added to another set. For kids those will be Racing cars in the first place. -
They made a survey where people had several different options to vote on what Lego Insiders (one of the questions was what name it should get and the result was obviously that) should become. Some of those question were if people would be willing to pay for a subscription (and how much they would pay for it), and what people would like to get from it. One of those options what that people could get access to buy exclusive Sets that resemble older Sets from Lego´s history. Well I guess not many were willing to pay for something like that so Insiders replaced VIP with actually quite little changes.

My point was basically that there is no Adventurers in City. The only thing City has in common with Adventuers is a Minifig that they use to give a nod to the old Adventurers theme and a Location that could be used for a Adventurers theme. But aside of that there is like nothing both have in common. The main target are clearly to film, watch and rescue wild animals and not to hunt treasures. The vehicles in the sets are way to modern and while I won´t say that Lego couldn´t make an adventueres theme in the present time, I don´t think Lego would do that, nor that it would be what people would really want. At least for me the less modern look is one big part of what made the Adventueres theme what it was.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, the question is, how much demand would be for something like this. I mean, if we are being honest, people wanted to get Aloy and they were happy to get it. But ever when someone wants more Horizon Sets it is always mentioned they want a Thundejaw or something like that - I can´t remember anyone asking for any other character really. Of course you are still right about the minifigures having overall use for people outside the theme still, but I don´t think it has good chances to ever get a CMF. -
Anyone know what the late November/December GWPs will be?
Black Falcon replied to icm's topic in General LEGO Discussion
One of the sets is rumoured to be a little train, but aside from that I don´t think there is anything leaked yet - but I would guess we will get first informations for those soon. As for the train, it is unknown yet if it will be the reward for black friday/insiders weekend or for december, but I would guess rather the later. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Black Falcon replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Some F1 fans might buy them for some parts if there are printed pieces. That aside, I said when the first rumours showed up I am not interested in the series and I don´t think it will sell that well. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

To be fair, I think that series could - depending on how it really turns out in the end - actually be better received by kids than adults. But in the end hard to judge before we even see some pictures. -

Yeah, I would think it is very unlikely that they will make a moulded Balrog. For that he is just to big. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
That might depend on how well the theme is doing. In the end only Lego knows, they have been doing Themes with only one wave and themes with several. Even if they have just plans to make one wave they could decide on doing more if the sets sell well, so we will have to see. On a side note, even if they would actually do Sets for the new film, I could see them making another wave for the animated series/films. Still thinking the animated is more likely anyways though. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, ofc they are not the main build, since they are not really built. ;) But seriously, the Dinosaur alone would make the Set look pretty small and expensive (since, well the Dinos are what makes them exactly that) and as said before, they add other stuff like Planes, Cars etc. to add more play features, same as some enviroment/buildings - that is basically what they are doing with all their themes and I doubt it will be any different in this one. Well as said before I can´t say much about the franchise, but looking at the Dragons I don´t see them to be the main part of the sets at least not all of them. Sure you could make a let`s say 20€ Set with a Dragon and a Rider. And maybe they will do that, but I doubt we will see all Sets just including a Dragon and Rider (and maybe some small sidebuild) - I would rather think we will also get a part of the village and be it just one house, a ship etc. Lego usually does Sets in different sizes and I would be surprised if it would be any different here. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, I can´t really agree with your reasoning here. First of all, the dinosaurs are still the main part of the Sets. It is probably all kids care about really. The vehicles are added mainly to add more playability to the sets. Also, Dragons are easier to to build IMO without moulded bodies, than dinosaurs, especially the small ones are. Let´s take the raptors for example, they have quite small legs, and I am not going to say they couldn´t build them with bricks (they have done it for the magazins) they are probably not that stable when kids actually play with them. Well but the reason why we didn´t get any sets for the new movie was probably because the film went bad. We have seen it with fantastic beasts too - they made one wave for the first film and then went back to do Harry Potter - so why should Lego make Sets to the film when they can make it for the series and old films where they know it is well received? The only reason for them to make sets for the new movie I could imagine is if Universal would especially want to have those to promote their film better - I still think however that Sets for the old stuff would work as well. Probably the differences won´t be that big. The biggest difference would probably be the minifigs, The dragons would probably look pretty much the same in a legofied form. -

I would guess for it to release for the insiders weekend this month. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
Black Falcon replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
You are right there, but the reason I think why they will be brick built is, that new moulds for the dragons would be rather expensive, as we see in Jurassic World, and they would probably need a lot of them if we think they would make more dragons. I mean someone mentioned 5 main dragons in this thread - I don´t know the franchise and can´t judge how likely that number is, but if that is the number we have to expect, then it seems likely to me that they will be brickbuild - if it would just be one and that one used in several Sets I could see them doing a moulded one.
