2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Black Falcon replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
There are basically three options: 1st would be they remake the Black Monarchs Castle - but that seems like the most unlikely option to me, especially now that the ghost is around already (which they could still include ofc anyways), second option would be that they remake the Black Knights castle, which seems to be far more popular than the Black Monarch one. So way more likely. Third option would be they go more the LKC route and make some completely new castle, that takes some ideas and references to one of both of the castles. I would guess we get either of the two later options - but even if they would remake the black knights castle, that doesn´t mean we will get the same number of figures or horses. But as mentioned before I would expect the set to be around 200-300€, so the number of figs shouldn´t be the problem here - whether we will get four horses is another story though. -

I wouldn´t expect to much though. First of all the new Set will very likely have less budget, both because I don´t think the price will be as high as for the Lion Knights castle and the fact that the LKC seemed to have gotten a good budget because it was an anniversary set. And in the end it is probably better to expect less and be positively surprised than the other way round. -

For me they just look to much alike, especially their shields. If you would want to have both factions in the same build you would have to give the black knights only their small shield, so there is still some difference. But even then I don´t think they would choose two factions that use the same heraldry creature. As mentioned before, I don´t really see that that set would need another knight faction to work, wolfpack and the ghost are enough - and if they would however want an other knight faction, I would guess it would be the black falcons again. I don´t know, but reading the comments here and on other sides, sure the majority wanted the figures, but there were several people that said they would only want the machine, so I don´t think the machine itself is that unpopular. The main reason why I think that the Wolfpack will be included is that there was one in the Black Knights Castle, and that is also the one I would think they would base their Set on if they would be going to make a Castle for that Faction. That and the fact that the wolfpack barely showed up as an faction yet but just as single bandits - which didn´t even had their shield included in an actual set. -

With all the similarities it sometimes seems like the Dragon Knights are actually the successors of the Black Knights, though they go way more into fantasy. But eitherway I don´t see them doing both of them together. For the Lion Knights castle it was easy to include the Black Falcons alongside the Forestmen, because the former were already in production - for a black castle I would actually only expect the ghost, one or two wolfpack bandits and the black knights themselves - not sure if we should expect civilians here, but if they would include some I would guess no more than two, as I also don´t expect them to do a castle at the size of the Lion Knights, more a set between 200 and 300€ maybe? -

Yeah, well as I said I could totally see them using it because it fits so well - the only reason I don´t think it would be used if they would make a big set for them at the same time is, that they might want them to look different from the griffin knights - else the only thing that makes a difference for those two factions would be the shields (and probably the griffins ugly helmet). But who knows. As for the third knight, I would simply think they would put the breastplate on the same figure like the other two knights. -

I would rule out that it has anything to do with the theme, because it isn´t just HP. The Balrog from Lords of the Ring was also pretty late (and even later with the reveal) and the Minifigure prize machine has no reviews yet either. I think it might just have to do with Lego sending the review sets out later, probably in order to prevent leaks before reveal - though also doesn´t really explain why some sets like the Balrog also get revealed so late. -
Depends on the store I guess. As far as I know they are told not to let people pick single parts but just full figures. Wether all follow that is an other story ofc.

Yeah, but that is basically always the problem with like everything. You never know what the future holds. Like you also didn´t know last Hogwarts if the next one wouldn´t be better, so you had to either start buying it or hope the the one we have now be better - if you are looking to have just one Hogwarts that is. And given that Hogwarts is released over three years at least, it is obvious you won´t know how the whole thing looks like in the end, but at least with this version you get a good impression based on what you already got - unlike with the last one. -

Any other result would have really surprised me, happy it won. I would hope for a cloth sail - if they keep with the prickbuilt one, that one surely would be a sticker - very likely the flag anyways. Shield should be a print, but if they will be doing two versions... Yeah, sadly not. There are still some sets that I didn´t buy yet and are retiring this year, so a GWP like this would be perfect to buy alongside them. There is no way they would change the faction for it. However I could see them using the Griffin Torso and legs, they would actually fit quite well for the serpents crew and if we get printed shields and a cloth sail I would be happy with that. As said above, I can totally see them doing that, but see no reason why they shouldn´t include the legs too. Black Falcons had plain legs too but got updated printed legs when they made the new version. However for the thrid crewmate, I would expect them to just use the plate mail piece like in the fan design. If there would be new Black Knights sets, they wouldn´t reuse torsos though, but make new ones. The only reason why I see them using the griffin knights torso (aside from the fact that it just works well) is that a gwp wouldn´t have the budget for shields, sail and torsos. -

A twelve month product cycle isn´t really that uncommon, especially for smaller sets, there have been shorter. And how 12 months should prevent people from thinking if the price is worth it for them or not, is beyond me. -

Have to say I like the set better now after seeing the video - I especially liked how the wings oben and close together with the book nook. -

The HP GWP will come 1st september like the last years. Double points for the release seems unlikely but we usually get double insiders points for prime day. -
I meant the leak last month - if there was an other foal leak earlier I never heard of it.

Which is totally fine. I actually don´t mind either, the overall result should look great. For instance I do like the Dragonborn a lot, just overall a great figure, but I also love the Black Falcon Knight remake. On the other side I am not really a fan of the Dragon Knight from the Majistos Workshop GWP, that Torso just doesn´t work for me at all sadly. You mean the Dragon Knights from the last Castle theme I guess? Personally not so much a fan of them, as I don´t really like the logo that much. But Rogue I can fully agree with you, that one is definitely among my favourite CMFs and Castle figures. -

I would actually be really surprised if we wouldn´t see any more Retro Icons Sets. Sure they haven´t been that long on the shelves, so sales probably were not as high as expected, but I don´t actually think that they sold that bad - but probably they are especially popular among AFOLs, so might aswell just be that many buy them short after release and after that sales just drop. On the other side, the retailer that got the renegade exclusive here has them sold out online and in most shops, so it can´t sell that bad. Honestly, many people complained about the price and sure it isn´t cheap and the price per piece looks high - but to me it doesn´t really look any more expensive than any other Lego Set to me. I mean when I look at it, there are a lot minifigures included, you have a lot big parts (the ball pieces that include the minifigures and even more the new pieces they made for the glass of the ball machine) and on the other side I see barely any small ones, whereas other sets include a lot 1x1 tiles etc. for details. Was never a fan of people judging based on parts per piece ratio and this set is a very good examply why. That is, what the shield is there for ;). -
Is it just me or is Army building really really expensive?
Black Falcon replied to Alcarin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Actually, what you a referring to was both KKII - KKI is actually a total unrelated subtheme of castle and noone knows why they choose the same name for them. But anyways, the theme lasted for three years, with in the first years the knights having shields like your dragon shields, though they didn´t really look great. The second year they used the standard shield, which was also used for the unicorn in the third year, which was when they introduced new knights and factions to the subtheme - but yeah, aside from the buildable knights there were only 4 sets - and strangely an additional bigger set, which wears the same Logo, but is actually a KKI set.... -
The pink foal leak was the leak from the unicorn castle so it was just no surprise, because everyone knew what it was for.

Impressive collection. And just reminds me how much better the second part of Knights Kingdom II was compared to the first, more colourful one - especially in the minifigure design. -

Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would rather say that something beeing a display Set doesn´t rule it out to be a playset too. The inclusion of a single minifigure is hardly an argument for anything. Lego is well aware that people want certain minifigs, so they put them in sets so people buy them - no matter if the Set is meant for display or not. By your argumentation, the 60424 Jungle Explorer ATV Red Panda Mission would be a display set, because the fig is clearly included for adults that had the old adventurer sets ;). And sure Malfoy Manor was made because the Designers know that AFOLs wanted to have such a set and also Narcissa. But the execution isn´t really the big UCS, just for Adult version either, so basically everything about is still looks like a playset to me. You mean like the Philosophers Stone challanges? But anyways, I think people just have different takes on what is a display set and what isn´t. To me Sets like the microscale Hogwarts castles are Display Sets, all other Hogwarts we got a playsets, although of course you can still display them. The mirror is just placed there because he fits there and IMO is meant to taken out to play, just like the modules are. And anyways, I would argue that the stairs beeing made for display doesn´t make much sense, because if you want to display that Set you would use the other side anyways - and even then you would at least need the great hall to make it look like Hogwarts. Just the Tower alone doesn´t make a good display IMO. -

Yeah, have to agree here. If we get a pokeball it should be able to open and close and likely would also be bigger than the prize machine balls. Also I would expect some more detail, like a pokeball isn´t just red and white but you also have a black line deviding those colours and the button to open it. Will be interesting to see how Lego will be doing this, if they are going to make one. -

I wonder if none of the mutants sold that well that Lego isn´t doing Sets with any of those. At least I wouldn´t be interested in either of them, actually not even interested in the Titanosaurus because it looks just too ugly with the bulge on the head. The trailer looks like they are doing the same mistake they made with the hybrids now with mutant dinosaurs. I still will watch it sooner or later, but not really hyped about the movie or anything. -

At least it shows everyone that AFOLs like castles ;). And hoepfully, one day.... Yeah, but that was on a printed cape, which to me just looked silly because it was so short. Doesn´t seem that the Griffins wear a cape, so very likely no logo on the back either.
