Energy saw blades are the best. I hope we'll see it. Better yet, it should be in a trans fluorescent color. Just imaging what that'd look like under a black light. Kalhiki

[MOC] SD-1 battle mech (speeda demon B-model)
Kalhiki replied to bacem's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Agreed. I was skeptical about minifigs in Constraction sets, but seeing this makes me believe it's going to work quite well. As for the MoC itself, it's very good. I absolutely love the stocky proportions. If the actual sets look anything close to this (part count restrictions included), I will be pleased. -
Hm. I can live with those descriptions. Though I'm not sure about the Flyer beast/Iron Condor comparison. I think I'd rather have a more animalistic looking character. I guess I'll just have to wait for pictures to make a final opinion. Honestly, on another note, I'm seeing a lot of MoCs coming out of this wave. Fan made Mechs and Kaiju probability is high.

Onibaba. I make it a habit of knowing these things. If the set looks anything like him, I'll be pleased. And if Flyer Beast is essentially Otachi, I'll be extra pleased. Also, I've been thinking. I want the minifig Heroes to used a flat, round stud with an 'H' logo for the Hero Core. I'm pretty sure this is the route they'll take if the Heroes incorporate shoulder armor pieces. Plus it'd be kinda cool to have a mini Hero Core. EDIT: Pacific Rim comes out on DVD on Tuesday. What are the chances we'll get pictures of the sets on the same date?

Okay. I'm sold. This is what I've been wanting. I'm really excited now, but I hope the Heroes aren't straight-up minifigures. I like minifigs, but when I think of constraction, I think of poseability outside the range of minifigures. However, if this is Lego Pacific Rim, I'm completely sold no matter what. Man, I can't wait for the TV episode. It's gonna be epic.

If you ask me, 2 (most likely small) sets at a $10 price point is probably one of the smartest ideas Lego could make. Just think: essentially 2 for the price of one. No need to buy two individual sets in order to have the conflict Lego loves. Which would then make it easier for a consumer to collect more figures and sets. I'm excited to see what comes out of this. I love small things, so the "Vs" sets should be particularly interesting I hope. As for the individual, larger Heroes, two things: 1) Large Hero figure with the machine, or 2) the same small Hero with a super-massive machine. Honestly, I'm hoping for the latter. That could be pretty cool, if you ask me. If anything, this seems like it could turn out to be a pretty fun year. Kalhiki

Definitely a fine addition to the collection. Can't wait to get one and see it in person.

Can't wait to see the Robo-Dragon's set pictures. Looks like it could be pretty cool judging by the illustration.

These look pretty good, in my opinion. The Jet, The Overborg Tank thingy, and the Thunder Raider. And that buzz saw add-on...

Just wait. This'll be the year where we get fusion/returning villains. :P

That looks sweet. I'm super excited for Ninjago 2014. Cryptor looks excellent. Can't wait to see pictures of the sets. And a purple dragon? Yes please.

My guess is that the "Machines" sets will be something like BA Surge and his Jetpack. Not exactly, but similar concept where it's a hero figure with the machine. What would be neat is if the machines were easily interchangeable. Say they used the wide shoulder torso on all the Heroes, and the Machine attached to the inner-shoulder ball joints. That way they could be easily popped off and attached to a different figure. And, in my opinion, this would be a good route for Lego to take. That way buyers (kids, more so) would want to get more than one "Machine" set so they could swap out the attachments. If that's the case, this wave would be pretty cool. Kalhiki

Interesting. I kind of like where this is going, but the multiples are just... Eh. No thank you. If it's true, I can guarantee I won't be getting them all. I really don't need multiples, so I'd only get the "vs." sets and whatever else to fill in the gaps. Also, I don't like the whole "beast" thing. I've had my mindless animal fill from Brain Attack. I want sentient villains again. Kalhiki

Back to the website discussion, I really don't like the new site because, for me, it's incredibly laggy to the point where I don't even want to attempt getting on. Plus, it doesn't have a good feel to it. I don't know, it seems so... foreign. And out there. Not what I expect to see when I go to a website. The 2010 site was what I was used to. A main heading that had the usual, important tabs and, once you located everything, easy to use. Not to mention the changing background and the mission ticker were sweet. I was sad to see them go... Anything would be an improvement over this year's layout. Ah, remember the good ol' days of 2010's web design? Kalhiki

I think the hardest part would be designing a crotch piece that also allows armor attachment. In a body with waist articulation, two pieces of armor would be almost necessary. Aanchir's seems like the most logical choice, but I believe Takanuinuva's would be more welcome. Only one joint for the waist seems like all we need. But maybe that's just me. Kalhiki

I don't usually search things on Shapeways. Let's just say I haven't seen many people advertise what they've made (which is the only way I ever see it). Kalhiki

I was wondering when someone would use Shapeways for custom parts. I've seen Transformers upgrade parts, but never anything Lego. That being said, these look great. I really wish Lego would put out new bones like these. I'm sure they'd really come in handy. Kalhiki

I agree with SmoothJazz. I have a Glatorian head from the first wave of HF sets, and by the 'holding the sides method', it hasn't broken yet. Also, pull the joints apart. Before, I've bent the joint to pop it apart at the cup, but pulling is the ideal way. Kalhiki

Ah. Yes. That's the same as mine. I imagine it's a running problem since we both have it, so I'm not sure a replacement will guarantee it being correct. Hopefully later releases of the figure will have this fixed? One can hope. Kalhiki

Same here. I can live with it, though since I can still see the eyes. How high is it? Kalhiki

The commercial lies. Dragon Bolt has the extended tail. And they also did a pretty nice job of covering the short tail when showing the set. Despite that, the commercial looks great. Can't wait for next year's special. If the story stinks, at least the animation will be good. Kalhiki

Definitely getting this dude at some point. Not really interested in any of the Chima Ultrabuilds except for Cragger. May have to get two. One to keep, and one for parts. I'd love to make a giant gator monster with that head. Kalhiki

Something tells me those aren't the boxes. Seem more like displays than anything. Plus, you'd think the box would contain a picture of the actual set and not the cartoon picture. Not to mention their large size. Always could be wrong, though. Oh. And there's more to come. Check the bottom of the big, red sign in the first picture. You can see the black dude (Seismo, according to the box) between the boxes, but on the far right, there's a silhouetted picture of a never-before-seen character. Not to mention the multi-colored square in the middle. Perhaps there are at least six characters each having a different color? But then I don't know how Seismo would fit into that. EDIT: Just noticed more silhouetted characters on the sides of Volectro's and Seismo's boxes. I'm pretty sure there would be one on Flain's, but I can't make it out. Kalhiki

Bought. I have no idea what the hell this is but... Bought. Tiny Ball Joints: so many possibilities. If Lego is making sets based on an apparent show, it must be something to watch. Unless it's a kids' show. In which case I'll watch it with my nephew. I'm really curious to see how this develops. Kalhiki
