  1. First sighting of the new sets at TRU for me. Didn't get any of the sets, but they had 'em all, minus the Galactic Titan. Kalhiki
  2. I like Dragon Bolt (we'll see if that changes once I get him). Since I didn't expect to see his massive size from the episode transition over to the set, I'm not disappointed with how he looks. Kalhiki
  3. What about Scorpio? (Though Dragon Bolt looks much cooler than him. Plus he has the neat wing flapping feature) Kalhiki
  4. Hopefully, despite being off the website, they're still available in stores. I mean, I got Surge so obviously they have them and available to purchase. Unless they were contacted and told to pull them off the shelves. I never saw the new Galaxy Squad sets when they were online (they were taken off the website too), so who knows. Kalhiki
  5. I was going to take a picture of the combiner, but I kind of forgot. If you want to see it, there's a pretty clear shot at the end of LegoJang's review on youtube. Also shows Dragon Bolt's glow in the dark Brain Slug. Kalhiki
  6. Cool! I actually kinda forgot about this until just now when I decided to stroll down Culture and Multimedia. Looks good so far. Hopefully we'll get something similar to Lego Universe. And if I can play as the Galaxy Patrol guy, I'm instantly sold. Kalhiki
  7. The helmet doesn't look too bad in person. Though the chin strap does kinda give him a fat looking face. My main problem is that the visor printing doesn't exactly line up with the eyes. Sure, I can do that when I get back from school. Though, I'll take a picture of the combiner from the instruction manual since it's larger. Kalhiki
  8. I'll be sure to get on with those pictures then! The lightning pieces are actually quite cool. Blue base that blends to a yellow tip (meaning there's green in between. But still, a cool color blend). EDIT: Pictures here! Front (the wings can go completely straight out. I just like it this way): http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1378.jpg Wings Down (I prefer the wings up as this makes his shoulders seem too thin. )He uses the narrow shoulder torso if you didn't know)): http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1388.jpg Headshot: http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1380.jpg Mugshot (as you can see, the eyes continue outside the visor): http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1381.jpg Visor Up: http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1385.jpg Rear Helmet: http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1383.jpg Gun (essentially a recolor of Pyrox's gun): http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1379.jpg Back: http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1386.jpg Wing Assembly (the little grey piece on the right attaches to the back and acts as a stopper): http://www.brickshel...ge/dscn1387.jpg Kalhiki
  9. Went to TRU today. I was hoping to find Stormer, but the only new set there was Surge, so I got him. Actually a pretty cool figure. Though, the eyes on the helmet just seem kinda low especially with the visor down. I may or may not take pics and make a review. If someone else wants to, go ahead. But if you want me to, I can. Kalhiki
  10. Excited! Maybe make a trip this weekend and see if they're at TRU. I'll probably get Stormer if anyone. He's been growing on me. Kalhiki
  11. Don't really know anything about Evangelion, but I've always liked the Mech designs. And I must say you did a great job in capturing the appearance. As for the shoulder pylons... Possibly Furno XL's shields unless you don't have any. They're the largest, flattest HF pieces I can think of. Kalhiki
  12. Now that you mention it, I think I knew it was planned. Still, it just seems unneccessary, and like you said, shoehorned in. It was, what, six years later after the Bohrok story when we got an origin for them? By that time it seems like the Bohrok would have been a forgotten detail as another enemy of the Toa (until their inevitable re-awakening when we found out their purpose). I guess that all makes sense. Kinda hard to explain what I'm thinking. As for the story mediums, I guess what you said makes sense. And I agree that it was ambitious. But in the long run, it probably wasn't the wisest decision as it made it extremely difficult for people entering the story mid-way to catch up. Which is why I think narrowing story mediums would probably have been better as a whole. Kalhiki
  13. Personally, I feel that the story was convoluted, but mainly to people first being introduced midway through the story (I think I speak for everyone on this part). Heck, even someone who lost interest for a while and came back may have had trouble getting back on course. But to hardcore fans who had access to the story, you should be fine. There's a ton of info in the story that just seems irrelevant. For instance, Av-Matoran dying and becoming Bohrok was just pointless and, for me, seemed like a hacked together origin story for them. Bohrok could just have easily been made alongside the Mata-Nui Robot by the Great Beings for the sole purpose to clean Mata-Nui's island acne. And then there are other things like that punk Mavrah who we thought was dead, but it turned out he's just chillin' in the Red Star with those black and purple dudes who turned out to be the same folks from Journey of Takanuva. And Tuyet who it turns out was kept up in a pocket dimension because she had a bit of magic rock in her armor while a decoy from a different dimension took her place. Which brings up my next point: too much story. More specifically; story mediums. We had, what? Books, comics, movies, online serials, games? Plus some? Not to mention some (mostly games) were non-canon which would confuse the heck out of some people. And with the online serials: people needed to follow those to see how such-and-such character got from Point A on their journey to Point B. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the complex story. But I feel that they should have stuck to the meat. Any extraneous side stories just messed with it and added mostly unneeded information. Stick to the basics, keep the epic feel, and get rid of story that is unneccessary. There. I fixed everything. Now can Bionicle come back? End rant. Kalhiki
  14. Went to TRU today, but no luck with the new sets. I really want to get my hands on the Eradicator Mech. Oh well, there's always the next time. Kalhiki
  15. Trans bones would be great to get some underlying color. A fire-based villain would be great with orange bones and black armor. And as Cirkit said, a toxic villain would also be cool. Kalhiki
  16. Had this question floating around: The Eradicator Mech's "CLS-89" tag. Is that a reference to anything? I thought I read somewhere (here, I think) that it was, but I can't remember. And I don't know where I'd begin to look to find out. Kalhiki
  17. The Mech looks nice. May get that sooner than later. I'm a sucker for mechs, and the more I look at this one, the cooler it looks. Plus those bugs are really sweet. Seems like they'd fit well along side the Space Swarmer. Though, I agree with what you said in the review, just2good. I wish there were more minifigs. At least one insect minifig would be most welcome. Kalhiki
  18. Mantises have five eyes as a matter of fact. The two large ones and three smaller ones on the top of their head (the things you learn on the internet). Anywho, cool to see the sets are available. May have to make a trip to TRU sometime. Plus, there's the new Hero Factory sets that are possibly out that I want to get as well. Kalhiki
  19. Summer sets already? Geez. This is like the earliest it's ever been. May need to take a trip to TRU to see if they're in stock. Probably not since they aren't available on the site, but maybe by the weekend (hey, a guy can hope, right?). Kalhiki
  20. Aaaawwww Yeaaaahhhh... This this is sweet. Minifigures, detail, Treebeard, everything. Now... Can we have Barad Dur too? Kalhiki
  21. I've said this before, but this is more or less what I want from Hero Factory. 1.0 designs in the 2.0 build. Great MoC. Love the snowflake pieces on the shoulders. And now I also want those shields in blue. Kalhiki
  22. ... Ehhhhh... I'm not sure about the Croc Hideout. Never really a fan of architecture-based Lego sets (I'm a vehicle person). This added to the fact that it's not that impressive makes it an easy pass. Looks like I'm just getting the Gorilla Mech out of the summer wave. Kalhiki
  23. Crater Creeper's an ant? I got more of a cockroach vibe. The Hive Crawler seems like some sort of giant beetle, though I guess it doesn't need to be anything since it is an alien. I'm with DraikNova; just some generic bug. Kalhiki
  24. I'm fine with Rocka (I personally like him), but it's the jetpack itself. It's massive, and that being supported on Rocka's puny legs just doesn't work with me. If there were leg attachments, then I'd probably be more interested. Speaking of Jet Rocka, I find it funny how in the episode he just happens to find the jetpack, but when he's wearing it, it has his name on it. Kalhiki
  25. Ninjago Samurai Mech in Chima colors. Nice. But seriously, those are ridiculous. Legends of Ghima? I can't help but laugh. Kalhiki
