I enjoyed '09. Kinda went back to the feel of 2001 by trying to boot up a new story. It was just a fresh feel overall. On a side note, I may have gotten my PS2 to work again. Time for some good ol' Bionicle gaming!

I say good riddance to canisters. HF spoiled me with easy storage, and if we aren't getting the bags with Bionicle, I welcome boxes. I can throw away boxes. Though that's not to say I didn't like canisters and their creative designs. But they take up space.

Plus, Tahu seems to be in a larger sized box, so....

That's depressing. It was actually a pretty good game, all things considered. But at least you can play Heroes. I can't. I think the laser on my PS2 is busted. Can't get it to read any discs. :/

So. Who else is going to have a Bionicle media marathon? I plan on playing all the games I have and watching the movies. Just for kicks.

He's like Optimus Prime. You can never have too much Optimus.

Kinda why I left BZP. Still have my account there, but I've never used it for... Couple years now I think. Things are more fun here anyway :P As for Cryoshell, I don't care one way or the other. They had some nice tunes, but if they don't show, I won't be broken up about it.

I still think a continuation would be best. And like I said, far enough in the future to where the original story doesn't really matter. I mean, remember the whole Legend of Mata Nui with the Mata Nui and Makuta stones? They could just do that only have the legend be a basic recap of the original story: "Bad dude and good dude fight. Good wins and restores the dying planet. Inhabitants rebuild civilization to a new age of peace. Then bad stuff happens. Cue story." I think this is probably the best option. Not too fond of a re-envisioning/alternate universe deal because then it's not the same characters. They're just alternate versions. And that may sound weird, but I think I'd have a hard time getting attached to Alternate Universe Tahu when I've spent all these years with normal Tahu. Plus, it'd kinda make the original story irrelevant, and I can't drop lore like that in favor of a new story. As far as tying things up and explaining the different races and junk: Mata Nui was able to give Gresh, Ackar, and Kiina elemental powers. So when he restored the planet, maybe he just gave Agori and Glatorian powers to make them equal to Matoran and Toa, respectively. I guess all I'm saying is that it'd be pretty easy to make a continuation and start fresh at the same time.

MNOG style would be pretty cool. A bit of refinement to the animation and it could be a success. A lot of cartoons on the HUB Network have a similar Flash-based animation style, so I think it could work. Just apply Templar's art style. Though a 3D TV series would be more likely considering that's what we usually get from Lego.

I think it'd be cool to see a TV series. It'd be a smart move if they wanted to have a complex story. Instead of needing to follow multiple online serials and books and what-have-you, they could just present the story on TV.

So. Since this is pretty much happening. How do you want the return to be handled? Personally, I'd love it if they promote the heck out of this like they did with Ninjago upon its launch. But that may be wishful thinking. So long as it has a great story like the days of yesteryear, I think I'll be happy. And if they can capture the atmosphere it had back in 2001, it'll be all the better.

I still see Series 1 out and about. TRU, predominantly. Though I imagine that won't be the case for long if they're starting to phase out elsewhere.
-
I think the easiest (and probably best) route to take would be to put the story several years into the future. That way it can be in continuity, but not have to be tied directly to the original story. But I agree. This needs to be handled in just the right way. And am I the only one here who liked the Stars?

So there're two pictures? I've only seen the box display one. What's the other? (if someone wouldn't mind sending me it, that'd be great)

Curious about the second image as well. Just some wishful thinking on my part: I hope there're new shells or cladding add-on pieces with more detail. While using CCBS, I still hope the aesthetic remains or is similar to the good ol' days.

Oh my god. OH MY GOD! I'm freaking out!!! I really hope it's not fake. I reeeeeaaaalllly hope it's not fake. The sets look great. That looks like Tahu in the big banner picture reaching for the mask. Classic Hau and all! This can't come soon enough.

Favorite "obscure" constraction theme?
Kalhiki replied to TheGreatSpirit's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I'd say Throwbots, but I don't think they're all that "obscure". Otherwise I didn't really get into the lesser-known Constraction lines. I was pretty much a Bionicle kid all my life. -
Man, I hope it's Major Nixel. I love that guy (if you can't tell by the quote in my sig).
-
Wow. That's pretty neat. I love it when Lego includes things like that. Personally, I've never played any of the games, but I know a bit about them due to a friend of mine.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kalhiki replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Recently finished watching Kyousougiga. What a fun show. Zany and touching with lovable characters, great music (listening to the OST now), and a great plot. It got confusing in some spots, but how the show is built, you kinda learn what's going on as you continue to watch. So things are strange at first, but you begin to make connections. I always feel like I've accomplished something once I finish a show. But then I have no idea what to watch next. Any suggestions? -
It's a great set. Fun build, good minifigs, and lots of features. Well worth it, if you ask me.
-
That's ridiculous if it's true. Hopefully the employee is confusing himself with the Chima ultrabuilds which didn't get a North American release?

If that's official, I'm still disregarding it. I can connect MF with GS. And GS with UA. But I can't with MF and UA. I'm just going with the stories all being in continuity, but not all intertwined.
