Which Scooby-Doo Guest Star(s) Should Appear in a Set?

BATMAN!! Haha, just kidding. Who I would really like to see is Weird Al Yankovic from the Batman: The Brave and the Bold crossover! -
CUSTOM: LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series "Universe"
Oky replied to Dorayaki's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Cool Customs! It's neat seeing all these characters in physical form. But why did you make every CP character except for Clutch himself? And if this is supposed to resemble a CMF series, why have 17 figs instead of 16? I would take out the Belville figs since they don't fit the "non-physical characters into physical minifigs" theme of this series and instead put Clutch in. Or maybe a bad guy from LU. To be honest, I'm getting a bit tired of all the LU fans clamoring for the game's return in some way. I have never played LU, so I can't say how good it was, but in TLC's eyes it was a flop, so they're never gonna bring it back. It's time to move on. That said, I am glad that some people are using their love for the game to do something productive such as these customs. And I agree that if TLC would have produced physical tie-in products for LU and Clutch Powers, it probably would have helped the popularity of those things. But I think they were just meant to advertise products that were already on the market rather than sell new ones. And while we did get some physical products based on Lego City Undercover, they still kinda squandered its potential to spice up the repetitive City line. The problem with that game was the stupid decision of making it a Wii U exclusive, which at the time was a failing console (and arguably still is), meaning that not many played it. Another reason why we didn't get more LCU sets, I think, is that TLC wants to keep City a non-story driven theme in order to keep it timeless. As for Belville... meh. I think the minidoll themes have successfully replaced this theme, so no need to bring it back in my opinion. I also don't agree that every single piece of Lego Media needs to be connected. Crossover games and movies are usually just meant to be self-contained stories that promote Lego themes that are currently out and it's probably best if they stay that way. As you said yourself, it wouldn't have made sense for Clutch Powers and LU characters to appear in TLM. Not to mention that most kids who are growing up with TLM, Dimensions, and Minifigs Online probably don't even know what CP and LU are. If these old non-physical characters would appear in any media today, it would be for pure fan service for the few people who still remember and love these characters, which is not TLC's main goal. So let's not wait for TLC to bring these characters back for us and instead honor their memory with tribute creations such as these customs!- 17 replies

Thanks guys! I'm glad that you like it better now. Not a bad idea, but I feel the whip piece is a bit too big and too curly. It would make Fear even taller than he already is. Besides, it's hard to do in LDD. Are their eyes that bad? I was going for more of a Spongebob look than a Clone Wars look (especially with Anger ). I like the way they are and I think that the big eyes are an important part of the cute look of the characters which would be ruined with the standard dot-eyes.

Thanks again everyone! Since some people have been complaining about the size of Fear's head (most notably his eyes), I have come up with an alternate design for it. It's still not perfect, but probably better than it was before. What do you think? Inside Out Alternate Fear by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr

Hehehe, nice! Reminds me of that episode of Venture Bros. If Scooby-Doo was this dark, I'd be a much bigger fan of it. Excellent job on this!

Thanks guys! The project has just hit 1000 supporters! Only 9000 more to go! I don't think they have used it anywhere else and I'm not sure if they are allowed to, but I hope they are. If not, maybe they can find a substitute for Anger's head.

Thanks everyone! The project already has over 520 supporters, putting it into the "Popular this Week" section! But there is quite a way to go still, so keep it coming! To quote Joy: "We can do this! This is gonna be easy! This is working!"

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

Yes, although I'm not sure if I should add him to that project or make a separate one. I don't think he would fit into that scene.- 4,155 replies

This does seem odd, but then again, if they were able to get Star Wars characters into The Lego Movie, why not Dimensions. And it would make sense that they would release them after Disney Infinity 3.0. That way it wont compete with Disney's own toys-to-life game and it will allow them to milk the Star Wars cash cow in the toys-to-life business twice. I hope it's true, although I would much prefer having Marvel characters in the game.

Yes, I'm hoping for Gyro too! I always preferred him over Prof. Von Drake. I doubt they would do Helper and Horace though. And yes, that's how I think they will do the duck feet too, although I would prefer a new mold. They could even include their Junior Woodchucks caps since we got a racoon skin cap in the TLM CMFs. I'm with you on the money bin, but I also think it would be the Disneyland castle. And as much as I would love Darkwing and Kim Possible figs, I also doubt they would do them now. P&F would be a possibility though, since their show ended only recently and Disney is still selling lots of merchandise for it. By the way, click here to see how I think they could do the Inside Out emotions. [/shameless self promotion]- 4,155 replies

Ever wonder what those little voices inside your head are? Meet Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, the emotions that guide you through your daily life! Riley is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old girl who, like all of us, is guided by her emotions. The emotions live inside the control center in Riley's mind dubbed Headquarters. This is also where all of Riley's memories are created and where her core memories are stored. From here, the emotions advise Riley through everyday life, led by Joy. But Riley's world turns upside-down when she is uprooted from her Midwestern life and she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness to the forefront. Will the emotions be able to get Riley through this challenging part of her life? You decide! About this Project: This is a Lego Ideas project that I designed using LDD, POV-Ray, and Photoshop. Based on Pixar's 15th hit animated movie, Inside Out, this playset depicts the inside of Headquarters. It includes minifigures of all five emotions and several key features of Headquarters such as the control console, the memory recall system, the core memories container, the tower, the memory shelves, and a couch with two footstools. Play Features: Take control of the situation with the control panel! Propose an idea to Riley by placing an idea lightbulb from the shelves at the base of the tower onto the stud on the console! Place core memories into the spinning core container! Recall memories by placing them on the translucent pole over the tube. But watch out! Don't let Sadness touch them! Roll the memories down the shelves! Turn the knobs at the back to redirect them to the next lower shelf! Take a break on the couch and rest your feet on the footstools! When Riley goes to sleep, have the emotions rest in the room at the top of the tower! Accessories include a flame piece for Anger (for when he gets really angry!), a notepad for Fear, a newspaper, a mug, and several memory orbs in the colors of each emotion. This project has been selected as today's staff pick! If you would like to have a LEGO version of the emotions and headquarters from Inside Out in your home, please support and share this project. It would bring lots of Joy to me and many other Pixar fans if this becomes a real set! Support this project here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/109759 Thanks, and stay positive!

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Oky replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Is that movie still happening? I haven't heard any news about it since its announcement one and a half years ago. Anyway, I would absolutely LOVE for DuckTales and Rescue Rangers to be included!! For the nephews, they would have to make separate minifigs though, unless they make the European comic versions with the black shirts (which is unlikely since they aren't as iconic as the versions with the color coded shirts). Each of the nephews could have a different accessory (the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook, a baseball bat, and a magnifying glass or something). I agree they should have this type of variety, but I sure hope Lego's version wont have this much repetition.- 4,155 replies

INTERVIEW: Bob De Quatre Today weβre interviewing Bob De Quatre, our very own Sci-Fi Moderator and a talented builder from France. EBSWF: So, Bob, how did you get into the LEGO hobby? What is it that attracts you in Space and Star Wars in particular? I guess I get into Lego hobby like most of us here, by being a child playing with Lego... My collection back then was already mostly space themed, with Blacktron and M-tron sets. I'm also a 7th art lover, again mostly Sci-Fi. I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. I was 9 or 10 when I first saw RotJ on my uncle's TV, he watching the movie while I was playing with... Legos. I have a photographic memory, and some scenes like the Sarlac pit were carved in my mind. I guess that not long after that I started watching the movies and dived deep in a galaxy far, far away.... EBSWF: In a couple of years, you went from regular member to Sci-Fi moderator. How did you get involved in the AFOL community in the first place? My first contact with Star Trek the AFOL community was in 2012. As an adult I've seen the UCS Star Destroyer, and I always wanted one, but I was still in dark age. In early 2012 I finally decided to build one, but I found pictures of an Executor and decided to go for it. I looked for pictures, instructions, and that's when I discovered Eurobricks. I joined after a few months of lurking... EBSWF: What are the up- and downsides of being a moderator, apart from being stuck in the wrong forum of course? I was surprised when Bonaparte asked me to become a regulator here. I wasn't sure to have what it takes (and I'm still not sure). There are lots of downsides being a moderator. Like I'll never have the chance to win a contest . Joke aside, being a moderator takes time and isn't as easy as some might think. There are some difficult situations, for exemple when members don't follow the rules and then don't understand when you tell them kindly... then you have to them in a less kindly way, and that's a part of the job I don't like. I don't think Sci-Fi is "the wrong forum", there are lots of interesting and various themes in Sci-Fi. Making an original MOC really feels starwarish isn't that simple. EBSWF: Being involved in SoNE from the very beginning, and now running AG (Andromeda's Gates) on the Sci-Fi forum, what do you like so much about setting up these community projects? I think I simply like community projects. When I look at all those MOCs done for SoNE, and AG now, I can't help but think that most of them wouldn't have been built if we didn't started those building games. We've seen players progressing, acquiring techniques and building better. I don't build much, but I'm happy to bring opportunities for EB members to build more and participate in something here on EB. EBSWF: Apart from being a very active community member, you're also an extremely talented creator of both Star Wars and other ships, often with crazy techniques. How do you go about this? What's your big secret? You'll make me blush ... Well My big secret is... Oh wait, someone rings at the door. EBSWF: Space pirates, space ninjas... not only are your creations amazing, the mere concepts are flabbergasting. Where do you keep getting the inspiration for these crazy mashups? My inspiration is: Why not? If it's possible, and if it's fun, just let's do it. I don't think there is a recipe for having inspiration. It just comes, or not... EBSWF: Your first creations were mostly digital, but later you moved to physical bricks. How did this transition go and what are the main differences? Well in fact all my big projects are all made in LDD first, with the exception of my latest entry for AG (the Cockroach). Now I use LDD to test things, to assemble bricks when I got an idea, that allows me to get back at them later when needed. So I haven't been through a complete transition, I just have more bricks and so tend to build more with bricks. EBSWF: Are you currently working on any projects, or do you have a creation you've dreamed of doing for a long time? I just finished a project (B-wing MOD) and have nothing to work on at the moment. I guess I'll always dream to build more iconic Star Wars ships, we'll see if some of those dreams come true one day. EBSWF: What do people who aren't LEGO fans think of your hobby? They tend to understand, now that I have builds to show. I'm not into minifigures, I build spaceships, so people understand when I explain that for me Lego bricks are a medium to express my creativity. I could paint, I could carve rocks, but no, I sculpt with Lego bricks. And that people understand. EBSWF: How has the LEGO hobby changed or impacted your life? Do you have any practical uses for LEGO? First the Lego hobby is costly, so it had a direct impact on my life. I've bought an appartment 2 years ago, and one of my two chambers have turned to a Lego room.To make AG runs smoothly I almost don't work anymore on Monday, well I go to work, but I spend the whole day on EB... Honestly, I think I spend too much time on that hobby... EBSWF: Other than LEGO, do you have any other hobbies? I try to do sport, it's important. I'm also a volunteer at my local movie theater, so I spent lots of time there to receive the public and to watch movies (thanks for the episode VII spoilers by the way...).

Thanks! Hm, as much as I would love to build one, Star Cruiser 42 would be too large to make in minifig scale, but a mini scale model might be something to think about... Either way, I definitely want to get back to making BLoSC MOCs someday! By the way, I have since replaced the trans-neon dish on Zurg's blaster with that new printed gauge piece from the TMNT sets which is a perfect representation of the gauge on Zurg's blaster.

What does this have to do with the Teen Beach movies?? Yeah, not to mention Falcon wouldn't even fit into a DVD box with his wings. Bruce would be nice, but based on concept art that they showed at the panel (which I can post pictures of if you want) it doesn't look like he will be in the movie at all and that Hulk will always be Hulk, like in the other Avengers cartoons. Yeah, I think this is the most likely option, considering the plot revolves around Iron Man's armors. Personally, I'm still waiting for a Stan Lee minifig, but it probably wont happen.

Yes, she had several lines, and I'd say they were fairly respectful. She actually teaches the boys some lessons (or tries to anyway). I haven't watched Bizarro League, but I heard her lines were pretty sexist in that one, which was not at all the case here.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Oky replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I guess this confirms just2good's rumor that this set would be retiring by the end of the year to make room for a new Death Star set next year. Kinda sad that I never got it. I can only hope that the new one will be even better, although it will be hard to top this one. -
Whoops! You're right, he DID voice the Trickster, my mistake. I thought he only did Sinestro. It was kinda hard to tell from the few lines he had. And Joker didn't have any lines. Kinda wish he would have been in the movie more so that Hamill could have played him instead of Sinestro.

The Trickster is actually kind of an odd choice for the exclusive minifigure. He only appears for about 5-10 minutes in the beginning and only serves as a plot device for Cyborg's character development (yes, this movie actually has character development!). Cheetah would have been a more logical choice, although I'm not complaining. One can never have enough Mark Hamill (who doesn't voice him in this movie unfortunately).
