My god dude, you are killing it. And yes, that moc is one that I've seen many, many times as I spend many hours searching Google for proper Jedi council mocs! You nailed it. That's a lot of 2x2 grey macaroni pieces. I'm probably just going to do a little one for now - about the size and shape of the completely round carbonite chamber from 2016. It will only seat 7 Jedi members instead of 12 but that's cool with me. I can see that others in this thread are thinking of something similar... :D

Glorious. Was wondering who would be the first to attempt Eadu!! I was thinking about thinking about doing one and got caught up on what the ground color should be. All the scenes on Eadu take place at night and in the rain - there's certainly a blue hue on everything but I thought blue ground might look weird? Anyway, well done on the build!

Interesting idea, but not sure you'd need to integrate them. That detention block playset in 75159/10188 seems fairly complete. The colors are quite different though, the Death Star playset's detention block is black. Still, it would be interesting to see if anyone tries... I see this little playset as something nice for those who couldn't spring for the price of the full size Death Star. -
So many... off the top of my head, vehicles first: Maul's Mandalorian Guantlet Fighter (We may see this yet in Rebels line) The "Turtle Tanker" Hound's Tooth SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 Coruscant Speeder reissue - with Ziro the Hutt this time!! Reissue system scale Venator System scale munificent class frigate (I must have this) Locations: Ziro's bar (I know they will never make it, but still...) Jedi Temple Nightsister temple with Mother Talzin + Nightsister battle pack (major omission from the toy line IMO!!) Eminence Battle (Maul/Savage vs Palps) Breakout from Kavado (why not?) Kamino Clone facility (could you imagine it as a UCS?)

Hmmm. I don't think anyone cares for price increases! But I get it and I'm with you OP... until you mentioned the boycott. No way am I missing out on these sweet battlepacks coming up. If anything, I'll just buy less of them.

But... but... but then you'd have an EXTRA rathtar!! And still one Guavian short of a full squad. I do find this news irritating as it was a big pull for me to get the set and have a decent sized Guavian Death Gang out of the box. They put 3 Bith musicians in 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina so I figured we were safe from this sort of bean counting/belt tightening whatever it is... dammit. I would not have noticed this until the box was in my hands. -

https://www.facebook.com/pg/LEGO/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10154538357673403 Man, you are fast! Beat me to it. "Collect a true Star Wars classic. The LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder will be taking off into flight this May!" For what it's worth, I think they were holding out the Snowspeeder UCS announcement for this weeks' The Star Wars Show, which I haven't watched yet but they've included the reveal as part of the video. -

Unless one of them is a Microfighter, I find the reports of both a TIE bomber and a TIE advanced in the same wave to be highly dubious. I know the sources are trusted but still - even if the bomber is Original Trilogy and Kylo's is Sequel Trilogy it doesn't smell right. Don't get me wrong now, if it's true I'll (of course) buy them both!! -
The underside of the A Wing and the rounded tips of the Y Wings are brilliant. Inspired and inspiring builds, DarthTwoShedsJackson!

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
darththeling replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lol'ed at your spoiler.... The new top banner is nice! There aren't any Rebels rumored kits at the moment - however I'd like to point out that we did get an updated Season 3 "Blind" Kanan. Shouldn't it stand to reason that we will soon see a Season 3 updated, short haired, green lightsaber'ed Ezra? I'm concerned that Rebels sets have under-performed on the shelf and moving forward we'll see less and less of them. And I don't mean less as in less selection per wave, I mean less inventory. Case in point: we still have the entire run of The Force Awakens kits (released Sept 2015) still on shelves, whereas the major kits from *very* recent Rebels waves are gone (75150) and soon-to-be-gone (75158). Last year the May The Fourth Figure was revealed on March 23rd. Assuming it's near the same time this year, we've all got more waiting to do. -

The optimist in me agrees. The other thing I was thinking is that the Episode 7 Falcon has got to be retiring soon, right? Released in Sept 2015 then we are coming to that two year mark that most major kits are on clearance and then gone. Unless they produced more of those Falcons than usual. Anyway - my point is, it would be a perfect time to relaunch a UCS Falcon just as the System scale version gets phased out. You're right that Bossk is outdated (SSD was 2011) however he was never in a cheap set. This bounty hunter battle kit is a dream come true in the likes of a full Rebo band. Just double checked the front page and the lineup sounds unconfirmed. That was the only Star Wars kit to have placeholders at the recent toy fair, right? They set the bar pretty low for last year's May The Fourth Figure. No where to go up from here. Remember Admiral Yularen? Revan? Those were awesome choices. Imagine if it was Snoke himself? The fandom would convulse into a nerdgasm the likes of which we've never seen. The arm printing of that 75114 Snowspeeder pilot (dark helmet) is Held the Phantom II in my hands today for the first time when I realized - maybe it wasn't Lego's fault they got the rank and title of Thrawn wrong. If this kit was designed and developed 2 years ago, doesn't it stand to reason that Disney changed their mind about Thrawn, story-wise? We could have seen his promotion to Grand Admiral in the show. I try to keep up with this thread but haven't seen any discussion of that. Wouldn't hold my breath for an updated version. Maybe custom decals will do the trick. Kind of underwhelming to finally get Thrawn in your collection after a lifetime of waiting for him and he's been demoted! -
Get the Palace, since it'll probably never be re-issued. We'll probably get new sail barges every 2-3 years.

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
darththeling replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Absolutely, yes.... I vote for 75180 as this year's Hot Mess award. It takes some effort to appreciate the richness of Lego in two dimensional images. The box art is typically the sexiest post they can make of each kit so... it's interesting that this is the most appealing version of the Eravana set TLG could generate on the front of the box. I'd love to eventually construct a complete Eravana build around it, though it would be totally gigantic. They did manage to get the look of the circular doorway right and there are a few video terminals where Rey can save Finn with her door closing skills. The color of the hallway underneath is questionable but I like that they've used the grilled 8x8 floor plates for Rey and Finn to hide under. The Han Solo jack-in-the-box is a pretty typical addition. Great video here with a rundown of the play features from FBTB: Near the end, around 1:11 there's a great view of the space underneath the rathtar's cage which somehow resembles an office with 1970s decor. There are also 4 rows of yellow bits - maybe the fuses Rey was trying to blow? Anything happening with features inside the cage? Thanks to Lego-Freak (several pages back) for educating me on the racial diversity of rathtars. Very interesting. The scene is so dark and bathed in red light it was tricky to see the distinct red and black rathtars but I see now. Having seen how the brick build ones are posed in this video I am warming up to them. -

Why is the second Rathtar black? All three Rathtars appear dark red in the film. -

Holy smokes!! That Guavian looks INCREDIBLE. TLG really, really nailed it!! Wonderful sculpt of the head... this one will really stand out on the shelf. Incredible, also, to see a very, very early sneak peek of anything Episode 8 related. Nice find! -
Really creative solution to the windows, well done mate. Loving the grill in the front, too. There's something striking about orange lego - it really catches the eye in a magnificent way. This MOC is a perfect example. Were there any pieces that weren't available in orange that you wanted to use?

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

Cyborgs, from what I understand. I think the circles in their faces facilitate the fast transmission of data and communication between each other. (Del Ray visual encyclopedia) Edit: [Haha, Jedi-Bendu you beat me to it!] FishW said yesterday: "Nice. If you notice the left is a stormtooper, the top right is vader, and the top left looks to be blue legs, maybe a cloud city guard. Who knows if it is official, but the other figures around it would indicate a Cloud City setup at least." I can't seem to find where or what the image is that we are talking about. Although I found the higher resolution prelim box images both on Reddit and the Russian site - can anyone tell me what image we are talking about? I really hope that if there is another Cloud City coming that it is at least $200, it has to be big and beautiful. It should make all our Lego Cloud City dreams come true. It has to be a large playset of they shouldn't even bother doing one. Is there any possibility that they'd do a UCS Cloud Car? For those hating on the quadjumper because it gets offed too quickly, watch TFA again. Unkar Plutt (I hate that guy) has at least two of them. When Rey and Finn are running, after the first one blows up, you can see they pass by another quadjumper (it's green) before escaping Jakku. I took a long look scrutinizing the high(er) res box for the Rathtar Escape last night. I was trying to figure out what the mechanisms do. The kit is still a mystery to me... it looks like the walls collapse in on each other or something. Also, the build has stilts. Why? Maybe there's an underneath passage that Rey and Finn can go in, even though they aren't in the set. Or, maybe the set needs clearance for the rathtars' swinging tentacles. As for the rathtars, looks like they are using the white "teeth" pieces and forms a circle of 8 and they are articulated by red bad robot arms. -
Hahaha, wonderful, I was wondering who would MOC this first? Anyone think idea this will become an official kit? It's awesome but, uh, it's pretty damn dark, too. My only suggestion, SPACIBA, would be to replace the grey wall plates in the corridor with white ones. Bravo on the build!

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
darththeling replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
All things being fair, the quality of the pictures is pretty low. I'm still holding out hope that the rathtar could end up being partially moulded with brick elements, i.e. the teeth. Like the Luggabeast is. The fact that we get two of them is excellent. While 75180 maybe not everyone's cup of Jawa Juice, anything I see that isn't a remake is a major plus! -
Full disclosure: I built this last spring and it never quite looked right to me, however I *knew* there would eventually be a real Lego kit for this scene. There had to be. Watching the movie in the theatre for the first time, it seemed obvious. Seems like rathtars were going to be the "weird beast" of episode 7 and there's no way Lego would overlook this. So I threw together this sketch model version of this scene as a placeholder in my collection under the real one came along. Having finally viewed the prelim box an hour ago I was pleased to see the differences and similarities in my own model. But... my rathtar is homely. I know this! Just using bits of red lying about that I didn't have plans for. Hopefully the real one(s)! in the new kit are big enough to eat minifigs. Although we got a preview of a sweet looking mould from the Lego Video Game, it appears as though this summer's official kit (75180) will have brick built rathtars. Hopefully it looks right. The great news is we are getting two of them. Opinions and crits on this build welcome. Here's the look/feel of the playset. I did at one point have a middle piece with a 8x8 grilled floor on top of some macaroni pieces but I had to raid/scuttle it for another build. It was to be the bit where Finn and Rey go into the crawlspace. Bala-Tik and the Guavian Death Troopers! The hatch is closed behind them. Can't recall where I raided his head - something from Lone Ranger, I think. Top view with a flash gives some more detail of the rathtar tentacles and some of the piping inside the Eravana. Would love to build a System scale Eravana someday.... hmmm. I know there isn't quite this much yellow in the Eravana but I had a lot of useless yellow pieces that I felt could work here. Bala-tik custom, stand-in Guavian Death Troopers with old Han and Chewie. Of course I'm using the old school red space helmets... I was thinking of adding the dot in the middle of the face but the real thing will be here soon enough. It's very nice to have minifigs stand-ins where you can. Rathtar coming down the hallway. If I really believed in this build I would have made one of the enclosures for the beats. King Prawna would be so disappointed to receive only one! Messing around with these macaroni pieces with the curved wall pieces - I was surprised to see that they fit together so well! Close up of the rathtar's mouth. Rathtar side view. Stand-in Guavian won't fit in the rathtar's mouth. "Tell that to Kanjiklub, etc."

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

For some, it's a great opportunity to fill out some big holes in the line up - as others have noted, Bail Organa and Jan Dodonna are so prized as high ranking Rebel leaders yet we've never gotten either. They do a Yavin IV base or even command centre and it's a perfect chance to get those figs. 7754-1: Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser was terrific IMO and even if you thought the build sucked we got Mon Mothma and a kick megablocks Lando. We got the bridge, briefing room, A Wing and hangar. I wish they would take more chances with OT locations. Plenty to choose from. Having said that I don't think they will do a Yavin IV set because no battles occurred there. Seems like the design concept of all their System kits are predicated on a confrontation of some kind. Much clearer images of the GOTG kits just leaked - keep your fingers crossed and maybe we'll get some SW leaks today. The pink sarlacc (hey- a girlfriend for the Pit of Carkoon!) is crushing my last hopes for a molded rathtar. It has a complex gear mechanism that sends the arms flailing, I'm guessing. Maybe we'll get the same in the rathtar. It might be pretty cool if it has a bunch of arms, like 10 or so that all go swinging wildly about. -
