  1. My bad. Just saw the article and thought we hadn't heard those names yet.
  2. Guessing here that Death Star won't be delayed since it's tied to the film release of Rogue One. Speaking of, Stormtrooper Larry (and with a shout out to Just2Good) sorted out the code names of the new R1 ships.
  3. Nothing official yet, just a lot of speculation being reported in late winter about retailers expecting another Force Friday at the end of September. http://screenrant.com/star-wars-rogue-one-force-friday-september-2016/ However there was that pic of a Lego rep in front of a poster featuring Rogue One sets - but that one said October. So... late September early October.
  4. Having collected through the entire megaphone era, I'm satisfied with E-11's in perpetuity. Especially were there to be a threat of the stud shooters taking over completely in their place. I think we've been pretty lucky so far.
  5. Bespin launch trailer (Battlefront): Cloud City gets a whole lot of love in this expansion. Makes me wonder if TLG is going to capitalize on this... we did get two new Battlefront kits in the second last wave. I wonder how far behind production TLG is compared to a game publisher? There was never any doubt at least the first DLC for Battlefront would materialize... but I know Lego is always about 2 years behind the actual release of things (hence all the color, function changes). The Rathtars moulds in TFA Lego game make me wonder if an "Escape the Rathtars" kit is inevitable? Seems like a great playset - maybe get Han, Chewie and some of those sweet looking Guavian Death Gang members in a small piece of corridor of Han Solo's freighter, the Eravana. Mind blowing. That list of features is the first time I've ever read a Lego set trivialize itself ! I think the Rebel Combat Frigate is impressive on it's own, thanks. TLG can keep the wrench.
  6. (75146) may explain why Kylo Ren's shuttle wasn't black. If Kylo's Shuttle (75104) were black, these two would look very similar. Too similar. Overall it's great stuff and I love the size/scale of the tank. Already planning to get two of them. Too bad the TIE looks a tad big (as usual), but then again, who knows? Maybe these are huge TIE Strikers. If they are $70+ each, I may just Bricklink some much smaller ones. I'd rather display a swarm of thin ties than one big thick one any day. A swarm of them would look excellent tho. Kinda wish they were in the cheapest kit slot. U Wing also very neat. Kinda resembles if someone welded a snowspeeder to a cargo container. Its engine array reminds me more of Azmorigan's cruiser than the X wing. Wasn't expecting all this today! Thanks for the sweet links.
  7. Surely eclipsed by the excitement of Rogue One kits today, I need help confirming a feature of the Rebels Combat Frigate 75158: This ship is supposedly a repaint of the Republic Medical Frigate, or the Pelta-class frigate as seen in TCW. Why do I have a hazy memory of these ships' variable geometry? Can anyone confirm that those two wingplates at the rear swivel inwards to form an enclosure over the engine? Such a feature would probably make it easier to display.
  8. I've been scrutinizing the new set. It does appear to have a handle on top which is good and a new standard inclusion for capital ships. It appears to have side flaps that come up to place minifigs? Kind of like the new Shuttle Tyderium or the Malevolent... I would prefer the top came off completely, especially if we are going to see the command room on the inside. Possibly a "bridge" like area to seat two people in the front like the Tantive IV 10198. Are they skimping on the parts for the two protrusions that flank out from the aft section? Looks like they aren't completely closed as you can see the plates exposed on the edges. Any chance this thing has escape pods? There must be another feature or two in there somewhere. The colors are so way off... I guess it doesn't matter - it's Lego (AKA fix it yourself with the correct pieces). But I watched Seige of Lothal again last night and it really doesn't resemble the color scheme of Phoenix Home at all. There's no red on the surface of the ship to speak of - there are yellow and orange highlights but that's it. http://starwars.wiki...ki/Phoenix_Home
  9. Not bad. Actually this is great, a must-buy IMO. I'm amazed at how TLG is able to continue to make capital ships like this - tight design, (relatively) low piece count. Too bad the colors don't pop like the one on Lego Ideas that I posted a few pages back. Hopefully there's a command room interior. This is awesome! So nice to see something new for a change (besides snowspeeders, Xwings, etc). I'm happy with it all and Santa is going to see this is #1 on my list!
  10. So do I. For those who aren't sure which one, here's a very nice version currently on Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/106573 This makes sense in the scope of it being a companion piece to set 75150, then you've got Siege of Lothal. We're probably going to see Jun Sato in this set (if not this one, where else?). We're past the midpoint of the Rebels series, also makes sense to give us the capital ship now. Oh, TLG, my wallet hates you this morning!
  11. Hmmm. I think the reason people are so ingrained in that line of thinking is because when people hear "Rogue" in the context of Star Wars, it's hard (especially if you were around in the late 1990s and owned a Nintendo 64) not to think of this... Of course, Rouge One ≠ Rogue Squadron, but I think this could be where expectations go amiss, particularly for those who haven't seen the teaser or know the premise of the film.
  12. The Sabine thing is weird. I get why they didn't have her skin color correct the first time she appeared; when TLG was developing the toys likely the producers hadn't yet nailed down the color of her skin (before Spark of Rebellion aired), causing a discrepancy. But Star Wars Rebels is 2 seasons in now, going on 3. The fact that TLG didn't bother correcting Sabine's skin color this time around means they probably don't care and are going for more or less their own version of the in-universe consistency. They cared enough to get her new S2 hair color correct, but nothing else! Maybe they'll get her look right when they do a UCS Ghost + Phantom someday. ;)
  13. Have you guys seen the Acklay build from Lego Magazine #12? http://www.hothbrick...ars-acklay-n12/ Pretty neat.
  14. We have the 75098 PDF instructions! https://wwwsecure.us.lego.com/service/buildinginstructions/75098
  15. TLG finally put the 75098 instructions up. For anyone planning to Bricklink the pieces for the shield generator and the ion cannon... this is good! https://wwwsecure.us.lego.com/service/buildinginstructions/75098
  16. Escape the Space Slug unboxing is up at Promobricks!! http://www.promobric...-unboxing/15471
  17. Adding a Fourth Shield Generator One of the video reviews has the shield generator exploding, slowed down. The rings of the generator appear to fit snugly in the grooves - should be fairly easy to mod it up to 4 rings by simply building a fourth ring and lengthening the base a few more studs. When do the instructions come out? I figured it would be a few days before release but I haven't been able to find them yet. Seaber, I plan to buy/build the ion cannon and shield generator too. My guess is the piece count on each is low enough it should make Bricklinking fairly painless. I hope so, anyway. But yeah - if someone puts each of those parts on eBay, what would a fair price be? I doubt I'd pay more than $30USD for either.
  18. In regards to the PromoBricks/Captain Nemo posted image of the Clone's AT-TE, it looks like they've neglected to push the brown ladders down into their resting positions before photographing the model. In the show, the ladders were on the hull of the tank, not sticking straight out. On the box art for 75157 and the ladders do swing down, but don't fit snugly into the grooves. This build is quite nice I think, my only complaint is no joopa!
  19. Totally agreed on the aliens. Bothans... that's the second Death Star/ROTJ, though. ;)
  20. Wow - they really captured her eyes this time. Okay internet. I guess I'll have to put you away until tomorrow, on April 2nd.
  21. Brickr's DS sketch is terrific. Yes, something like that would be spectacular. Over at FBTB in 2008 someone married the two Lego Death Stars together- a remarkable feat. I tried starting to figure out what it would cost to do the same but I got discouraged because some of the playset elements in 10188 seemed to be sticking out of the range of the sphere from 10143 (like the detention block area sticks out a bit) and that would make a tight enclosure around the DS not possible without heavy modification. This guy, etcknight, seems to have it figured out but I gave up! My only hope for the new DS is that it's not the same thing (or smaller!) and more expensive. Assuming we get the piece count in the near future... then we'll know for sure.
  22. Tarkin OT was in: 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer 10188 Death Star I believe both Tarkins were grey. Another A Wing (the rumor) doesn't seem super strange if you consider that Rebels is basically only using A Wings for Pheonix Squardon so far. I'm hoping for a blue one and a green one - of course you gotta wonder just how many A-Wings a Star Wars Lego collection may need? Wow - I just realized that the A Wing vs Advanced TIE will have a 50/50 gender split. Very impressive. Back when Star Wars Lego started you'd wait years to see a Padme or a Leia! Now they're pumping out nameless females.
  23. Wonderful scale - and yes, TLG should really embrace this kind of approach more often. What would this cost - theoretically - around $80.00 USD?
  24. Agreed. It was also highly strategic that it targeted both OT fans as well as The Clone Wars. A proper May the Fourth figure should do just that. Any chance we will see someone we've never heard of/premiere reveal of someone from Rogue One?
  25. Oh yeah I certainly do prefer your approach and especially the scale of the generators. I have something similar I'm working on. I do, however, enjoy the silly "explosion" effect TLG added to 75098. Not enough to buy it, but still... I planned to Bricklink that part of the build anyway. It's a relief that after all these years, TLG is finally acknowledging the importance of the shield generator to Hoth's iconic playset.
