  1. We learned about this ship just before The Last Jedi came out and I feel it must be included in any comprehensive First Order display. It's Snoke's boudoir!! Next sunny day I've got to take this outside for better snaps. It seems highly likely that we'll get an official one someday but I'm not one for waiting... The front and bottom are not quite finished. Will update once the parts are in. It's 168 studs long! I wanted it to be slightly longer than the SSD Executor. The 'sandwich' format has most of the ship at a height of 1 brick + 2 plates while the middle part is exactly 3 bricks + 1 plate high at the highest point. I was motivated and inspired by LegoProvoBro's build that he's had on YouTube since the film came out. It's a monster size-wise but also had a really nice little interior so I was trying to pull something like that off. This summer's official Lego throne room set 75216 turned out to be a must buy and therefore I could proceed building a Supremacy MOC without the restrictions of an interior. Since I've been building this in my head for several months it didn't take too long to put it together. It was much easier for suss out the build with a pile of parts than plan out in LDD (which I have been floundering with for months). So I scuttled my Royal Nubian starship moc (which needs to be rebuilt with slopes anyway) and I was able to complete the top layer of plates with that alone. That was night #1. Night #2 I put the wedges in (borrowed from the System Falcon) and flushed out the interior "meat" of the ship with mostly regular 2x2 and 2x4 bricks. Despite being incomplete it is remarkably sturdy. Night #3 Tore apart the 75046-1: Coruscant Police Gunship for parts, as well as a couple of other half finished MOCs. I added the bottom plates and put most of the details in. I'd say it's 98% complete. I need a few more studs for the bridge area and some color-corrected wedges but otherwise she's ready to come out of the Unknown Regions at last and punish the New Republic!! Sorry - these pics are so ugly. My office is messy. Better pics to come and please let me know what you think. I'd be especially glad to hear from others on this forum also working on a MOC of the Supremacy... what kind of scale are you using and what are the challenges and so forth. It was very liberating to approach this project without the need to include an interior (same goes for the J-type 327 Nubian royal starship).
  2. There is something very 'Ronald McDonald' about those Kessel mine workers.
  3. Really impressed with the choices of parts: that engine turbine piece makes a great docking port on either side. Is that custom sticker work on the cockpit piece? I love the blue coil piece being used as the engine.
  4. It looks great! Nice modding. They look awesome together in the glass like that. You can't understate the sleekness of a studless build. Is the old MTT much taller than the new one?
  5. Here's a small playset idea. I've had it on the back burner (please excuse the dust!) not really sure if it 'works' or not, but it's kind of unbelievable that Lego hasn't given us this in an official set yet. This represents a quarter of the room... it would take a minimal investment to create another 1/2 or make a full circle but I'm not sure it's necessary. It was important to me that the senate pods were simple and small. They should be able to to whipped around by Yoda and Palps. I had some color in them but they didn't look right. I think all medium stone grey is the way to go. I'd like to see an official set like this around the $30 price point, a la carbonite chamber. Thanks for looking. Feedback welcome.
  6. A great ship (never seen it) and an inspiring build! Thanks for sharing such excellent photos. Clearly a lot of preening and delicate tile work went into making the hull so smooth - it's very satisfying to look at!
  7. Yeah - this is what makes this model very distinctive. The approach to the build is like the opposite of Brickheadz - stubby, fat and beefy. vitreolum, any plans to realize other characters in this style?
  8. Nicely done, this scene has a lot of detail carefully re-created from the trailer. The water in the background looks really cool!
  9. This MOC makes me realize... just how much my display needs more industrial Corellia. The detail is outstanding. Hats off to you sir and well done! You should win this contest.
  10. This is a very efficient means of injecting a lot of red into the scene. I'm trying to build something similar (Snoke throne room) and I've been using red bricks as a background but they don't achieve the same smooth quality that you see from an unbroken surface. Nice variation on the guards, too.
  11. Terrific contrast between the snow and the trees - this is really nice to look at. Creative use of yellow hands as contact sparks from the lightsabers!
  12. A very nice Octuptarra build, I like your scale a lot more than the official Lego set - how it towers above the super battle droids.
  13. This is great. You've captured the lines on this really well. Would you be interested if Lego makes this into a system scale set?
  14. This is a build inspired by someone else's MOC. Thanks for the great build, LegoLogical. The video of his build is a LOT nicer - I'm just riffing with my spare parts here. Although the Canto Bight story line from The Last Jedi surprisingly doesn't involve gambling - I'm sure TLG is going to give us a scene from this planet eventually. Likely the falthier escape instead of this casino. Once I saw this MOC I thought it was the perfect size for this location and I'm a big fan of having every film-centred location in Star Wars represented somewhere on the shelf. Although the story line's merit may be contestable - who doesn't love gambling aliens?? I should point out that this MOC was designed before TLJ Blu Ray's deleted scenes gave us a look at the facade of the casino, which has more wide, pronounced white pillars along the face of the structure and some groovy 1960's masonry. I think the build pairs pretty well with the Resistance Transport 75176, which by itself is kind of a blah display. Wanted to include as much of the casino floor as possible, tried to include the piano / bar / slot machine area, and kind of gave up trying to integrate both the casino and the bar. You see what I have here. At the moment, I'm only displaying the main square casino area on my shelf and I may junk the bar and move the colored glass directly behind my pathetic stand-in for the Master Codebreaker. (He's on a roll, you know.) If I come into a lot more spare parts that favor white, I may try and complete the build. Also, if we get do an official falthier escape set from Lego or perhaps some Canto Bight police speeders, I'll likely revisit the build. And please take a peek at what LegoLogical did - my build really doesn't do his justice. Thanks for looking.
  15. Oh yeah. I'm still holding out hope of a system Artiquiens class cruiser with Governor Pryce, Admiral Constantine and why not throw in a Saw Guerra for good measure. Then we'd have a Merry Christmas. That Obi-Wan... I didn't even notice him! WTF... I'm tempted to overthink his inclusion but it's probably just laziness. I guess maybe ... so you could shoehorn in the "these aren't droids you're looking for" scene into the kit. A Dewback might have also made sense.
  16. It's this bad boi: https://brickset.com/sets/75221-1/Imperial-Landing-Craft Haven't had an official Lego release since 2007. https://brickset.com/sets/7659-1/Imperial-Landing-Craft Arguably the most noteworthy or distinctive appearance of this ship is at the beginning of A New Hope when the troopers land on Tatooine looking for the droids. Not to be confused with the Lambda. It looks a bit sloppy the way those curved bay doors don't line up on 75221. Are they are trying to hide a play function or design feature that wasn't worth it? I suppose it's fixable. Big gap behind the cockpit too. Wonder how ambitious the interior is. If anyone knows of somewhere to see the interior pics... I'd be grateful.
  17. Ohh, that brown bit is the part I like most about it! Not sure if it's wood - best guess would be that the brown is meant to be rust? Or filth over the metal? There's some of it on the wings, too. I relish a chance to expand the Imperial display with a bit of different color: the white of an Imperial shuttle or the black of Krennic's shuttle, etc can really pop on a shelf next to all the rest of that Medium Stone Grey. Agree that wood + metal =/= Star Wars-y look and feel. Nice! Less than a week to go, then...
  18. The hauler looks like the result of Kylo Ren's shuttle mating with a AT-DP walker. Here's hoping whatever variable wing geometery it has remained the same throughout film production or we'll have another 75104 winggate on our hands. Looks like the wings rotate 360 around. Is there a ribbon of some kind underneath or - not part of the ship? The brown space beneath the cockpit area looks tall enough to cram minifigs in. Really liking this wave overall. Sandcrawler and throne room look to be day 1 purchases for me. I [heart] Lego leak season. This week's gone into turbo mode with leaks. Here's hoping there's more on the way...
  19. The sandcrawler is .... truly the sandcrawler of my dreams. Perfect price, perfect size. Looks big enough to cram a handul of jawas in there. The imperial landing craft photo (reddit).... the top and bottom of the curved bay doors don't seem to evenly match up in the stock photo. That can't be a design mistake, can it? It looks wonky. The Snoke (Supremacy playset) justifies the price because it's a big kit, mates. Check out Brothers-brick, they've got higher angles of the floor space that show the overall layout is like a big W shape, with a couple of those Dr. Evil style paper shredders in the floor, and some railings in the style of the Death Star throne room. And what looks like a little rocket launcher? Maybe controls for the oculus... which for some reason isn't there. EDIT: I probably miscounted, but it looks like the throne room is roughly 30 studs wide either way. The elevator door rotates. Size and price wise, this one really reminds me of Palp's arrest. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/9526_Palpatine's_Arrest The details of the throne room are actually pretty nice... although I'd prefer the UCS treatment for the Supremacy (ship, not playset) around the size of the SSD Executor.
  20. Cheers. That makes sense. Thought maybe I'd been watching TLJ the wrong way!
  21. Thank you. A juicy leak for sure. Found fairly easily on Instagram: #legoleaks. I'm assuming this is the real deal - I guess there's little chance it's fake at this point as we are more or less expecting these leaks now. The scupt of the head is fantastic. There appear to be little ridges along the visor area - nice texture. Not sure about the sloped piece pointing frontward - that's distracting (a dress backwards looks like a dress backwards) but unique at least. The shoulder pauldrons look very defined. Go check it out!!
  22. The press that Lego received in 2013 about 9516 was toxic. They had major news outlets all over the world reporting that they were disrespecting Turkish architecture / Muslim culture and it was a PR nightmare. No way TLG willingly goes down that path again. http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/01/24/is-this-lego-star-wars-toy-racist/ https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/01/lego-jabbas-palace-racism_n_2993978.html https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/the-racist-menace-muslims-declare-victory-in-fight-over-anti-islamic-lego-8555610.html https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/austria/9820517/Lego-accused-of-racism-with-Star-Wars-set.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2302312/Muslim-victory-fight-anti-Islamic-lego-Denmark-axes-Jabbas-Palace-toy.html https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelpeck/2013/04/04/does-jabba-the-huts-palace-really-look-like-a-mosque/ With May the Fourth coming this week, are we expecting anything to be announced? They announced the Falcon at the end of August 2017 and the Y Wing was revealed in early April. I was doing some digging on Google... but it didn't seem like May the Fourth was historically a day for Lego to be revealing anything new. Does this mean that UCS 75222 (whatever it may be) won't be revealed until the end of summer? If so, we have a minimum three more months of speculation to look forward to.
  23. Even a brief glance should be able to glean if there are cloud cars or not. They have an unmistakable design and bright orange color so they should pop against the grey/white base. I just don't see the logic of having a cloud city and not having cloud cars (but still including a Slave 1??)
  24. No, you're right, it's something else that I conflated, sorry. This leaked image list of sets includes: "Licensed Harry Potter H[ogwarts?]" listing supposedly has a # 43 at the end with no price. The $100 Hogwarts hall we now know to be 75954. In the past, they've released Hogwarts in segments, I'm sure this new line will be the same approach. Image I'm talking about is marked "@lego_loving_dude." If already debunked as BS, I apologize. Just stumbled across this old leak... and wonder if it turned out to be legit. ***81 - Star Wars UCS-200$ ***22-Star Wars-Cloud City-$500 A lot of recent posters seem to remember the bleeped video, too... if TLG doesn't give us a Cloud City then they are doing their best to mess with our minds! With all those white pieces, you probably could build an impressive Cloud City out of a Cody Commander bust kit!
  25. It would be wonderful! Hope for the best, but brace for disappointment if it ends up being a Commander Cody bust or something. Some of us have been waiting for Cloud City since we stupidly passed it up for $100 in 2003. (sobs) Many of us have been coming to this forum for many years now, hoping for something big in the way of a tibanna gas platform complete with luxury accommodation and amenities. I still think that guy's mouth syncs perfectly with beeped-out "Bespin" in that Lego developer video from a couple of months ago. Remember that cheeky bit of non-marketing? And... that place we aren't allowed to link to (where you read things)... in January there was an image of a list of big sets for 2018 including a $500 Hogwarts castle in January. Said image also included a listing for Cloud City. That unlikely Hogwarts kit ended up being true, right? The 2018 Hogwarts is gorgeous, by the way...
