His staff is a mostly-eaten lollipop. The set version will use a Monster Fighter moonstone, though.- 2,626 replies

Horror Stories - Lego you bought off flea-bay and BL
obsidianheart replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I buy off Bricklink all the time, and I've never personally had a bad experience. I've had a few missing parts, but if they're a big deal enough, I'll contact the seller and get them sent seperate or get refunded and pick them up on my next order from where ever. My mom told me that way back in 2001, when I was unable to use my computer for a few months, she was checking my eMail regularly, and one of the Bricklink sellers who I had bought some stuff from started sending increasingly belligerent eMails about the fact I had not left feedback. Since I was unable to do it, and she couldn't ask what kind of experience I had, she ignored them, and the seller stoplisted me. Another seller claimed I didn't pay, and left me negative feedback and filed a NPB report against me, but I don't remember what happened there, so I'm not going to say the seller was wrong. I sold all my old LEGO Star Wars sets on eBay, never had any complaints there. However, I have never purchased anything on eBay, including LEGO sets. -

I don't understand all this unpleasant vehemence that this can not be Series 12. This is the 12th series of blind-bagged 16-assortment minifigures. If they choose to suspend or terminate the numbering system, that will not change that this is the 12th set of 16. The Team GB stuff only had 9 and was limited global availibility through official channels, so I can see how some people would choose to ignore it as part of the Collectible Minifigures line (although I myself include it, despite not being able to purchase it). I guess all this bickering over who is right about numbers or whatever just looks weird and off-putting. If you don't like the series, don't buy it. You don't have to come up with branding loopholes like the absence of a number to skip out on buying it. No one's going to think less of you if you don't buy it and your justification is "It's not for me". Will the future releases not matter if they don't have a number on the bag? Honestly, it would be weird for me if they went back to the numbers after this series or the next one or the one after whatever.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
obsidianheart replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is mostly what I do with my City sets, anyway, so I'm on board. Seriously, I kind of want to marry this theme, regardless of movie tie-in. I'll also probably replace the trans-red on those box-bots with trans-neon-orange, because they're practically Black Fantasy already. I have a pretty good theory as to why all the vehicles have a wacky assault mode, but I'll save it.- 2,626 replies

Are those like those kits from that episode of 30 Rock where the team leader is the only one who can see the instructions and has to tell the team how to build it in a certain amount of time?

Future of the CMF as licensed characters
obsidianheart replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Your sentence structure confused me, and I thought you were lumping them together instead of saying that there wasn't any LotR stuff as well as the Hobbit stuff. Apologies. -

What? No, we've seen at least 4 Hobbit sets for 2014 already. -

There's a brief glimpse of a mask sliding up into Lord Business's helmet from over his face, and I sincerely hope that is his alt-face in that set up there.- 2,626 replies

LEGO online pick a brick gone?

If by "support" you mean "tries as hard as she can to ignore", then yes, yes she does "support" my LEGO hobby.

BTTF and the Elusive White Minifigure Hair
obsidianheart replied to MKJoshA's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I want this for Jet from Rock Raiders. I've got an Arealight Breeze hair I was using, and some weird third party one (I think it was Amazing Armory before they shut down or shifted production?) that I'm using now, but I'd like to see an official option, too. -
Future of the CMF as licensed characters
obsidianheart replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The restrictions on Star Wars as well as (if I remember correctly) the reason character magnets are glued, is because of Hasbro aggressively protecting their action figure licencing on Star Wars. I'm pretty sure whoever holds the rights to produce and distribute Simpsons action figures (looks like Playmates, but Google pulls up some stuff by Kidrobot as well) won't rattle sabers as much, or does not hold as strongly-worded exclusive rights. -
This is so great! It packs in a lot of detail from the original, and implies a lot of the finer points very well.

I did not know that! A quick google search on the subject led me... here. To the 2013 thread. And and article posted by you! For some reason I was under the impression that Mega Brand still held the merch rights for the Sony stuff. Thanks for helping me get cleared up there!

I didn't think LEGO has the licences for the Spider-Man movies, just the comics/cartoons.
