Recommend better forums than Eurobricks...?
obsidianheart replied to andythenorth's topic in Community
Hey. Why don't you go start the "better forums"? If Eurobricks isn't building to your specifications, and you are unwilling to change your fandom parameters, then the only reasonable option is to start your own board. Be sure to not tell anyone about it, so that the denizens of the internet that you are unhappy with cannot join your board. -
STAMPs (Stickers Across Multiple Pieces)
obsidianheart replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I hate STAMPs. I've got a couple of Exo-force sets I bought off a friend a few years ago, and a couple of them have STAMPs (I'm mainly thinking of that orange tank) and I feel like I can't really use those parts for anything. -
Wait, can we do that? Just say "I'm American, First Amendment, yadda yadda..." and then say whatever we want? "Cause I'm an American and I heard that LEGO is actually run by aliens and the building bricks are actually letters of their alphabet and they've just been trying to teach us to communicate with them when we're ready, so they go slow, introducing new element-letters and compound symbols as time goes by. I'm sorry, I know that previous paragraph was rude. I'm just worn out from people saying "FREEDOM OF SPEECH! I CAN SAY WHATEVER!" without taking the time to realize that freedom of speech does not release you from the consequences of what you say. I didn't read the locked post, but the reasons it was locked were referenced and spelled out so precisely and carefully here that I'm not sure it matters. Again, sorry. I'mm go to bed now.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
obsidianheart replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It was noted earlier that LEGO likes to re-use parts, so the (in my opinion) very likely assumption is that the Waitress will have the roller skates, and I'll bet she has the Waiter's tray... But do you guys think she'll have a recolored hat from the Butcher fig? -
Kinda sad. Thought it would be regular blue. Oh well. There's still a red one in another set. Might pick this one up anyway.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
obsidianheart replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very interesting! I know a lot of people (myself included) assumed they were just going to recolor an existing 'bot like they did with the Black Vampire Bat. -

Hey, can any of you Galaxy Squad enthusiasts or early adopters tell if the Battle Mech has the head from the Orange or green robot? I can't find a view of either from the back. -

It's an editing error. The picture seems to be edited from the video that came out a week or so back. -

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion

Someone pointed out that The Professor Delores Umbrage hairpiece from Harry Potter, cast in Bright Light Yellow plastic, might make a good Marilyn Monroe-esque look for the "Starlet". -

What if... There was a LEGO Racer 3?...
obsidianheart replied to Pigbrick's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Seriously digging that Hero design. Villain's cool too, but the Hero passes him by laps (I'm sorry, I had to). Now let's see their cars. Or are you redefining the theme to foot racing, because that would be pretty hilarious actually. -
LDD 4.3.5 is out
obsidianheart replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Can't say I was expecting this! I mean, I'm glad there's a new version, but now I'm having to go through my (many, many) LDD MOCs and figure out where the missing pieces are again. But that's okay, because more often than not it minifig stuff, and the solution is to replace it with the correct part! -
Is it possible that Legends of Chima IS Ninjago 2013?

Monster Fighters 2012
obsidianheart replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, in both copies of the set the light brick is okay. -
Monster Fighters 2012

I got around to putting together my Mad Science Lab last weekend (after putting it off for a while, since I had already built my son's and didn't want to get burned out on repetition). LEGO was kind enough to include ten copies of the sticker sheet. Oops. -
Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
obsidianheart replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Years ago, I was huge into LEGO Star Wars stuff. Had nearly every set, and duplicates of almost everything that was less that $75. I was a regular lurker on FBTB back when it was From Bricks To Bothans and only about Star Wars. I watched from the edge of my seat as one of my old high school acquaintances made a "Letter-Wing" (M-Wing, Q-wing, ect.) for every letter nt in the official canon at the time. I "Ooohed" and "Ahhhed" at MOCs and MODs and recolors. And then there was a huge debate about what color Lando should be, and people were getting awfully worked up, and I drifted away from the community while I tried to work out how I felt about the issue. Meanwhile, the sets started getting bigger and more expensive, and I started having to be more responsible with my money, so I started getting less and less. By 2004, I was already starting to get listless and uninspired by the line. I bought the AT-AT, Mos Eisley, and the snowspeeder, and then just... stopped. I built them, put on a shelf, and then took them apart and boxed them up two months later. In 2005, I didn't buy a single LEGO set, despite working in a toy store at the time. In fact, I didn't buy any LEGO until Exo-Force came out. I kinda regret not getting Dino Attack, but... *shrug*. Halfway through the Exo-Force's first wave, I had all the smaller sets, sometimes 2 or 3 of the smaller sets, really, and then I just stopped again. And the Agents came out. I got the whole theme twice over, and haven't found a theme I have to own all of since then, but I'm pretty sure when I'm able, I'm going to get all the Monster Fighters sets, too. -
LDraw.org

DLuders has me pinned. It seems to be a series of awkwardly-timed coincidences. Although, I guess the second Bricklink outage was actually an attack. But you know what I mean. -

I may be making something out of nothing, but I think it is weird that LDraw, LDD, and Bricklink are all experiencing outages all at the same time like this. -
Problem starting LDD today

I'm still having problems with it. Anyone know what's up?
