While this is exciting to me and what I see as a bold and forward-thinking move on LEGO's part, I'm actually dreading listening to the majority of the fandom's reaction.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
obsidianheart replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Man. This Yellow argument is what drove me out of Star Wars before the licensed sets went fleshie. I hoped I saw it for the last time. I guess not. So, uh, thanks for that.- 2,626 replies

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
obsidianheart replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's his point. It would require significant re-engineering to make the Death Star fit with, say, City or Blacktron.- 2,626 replies

I think "Rebels" will be what a lot of people start calling "The start of the new EU". Old EU got a bit convoluted. I wasn't really keeping up with it, but I hear at some point they tried to incorporate the events from the Marvel Comics into the novels, and the Droids cartoon into the Dark Horse Comics. Shame about the Old Republic, as some of the sets were neat and the character designs were a breath of fresh air, but I think the franchise (and LEGO's licence) will be alright without it.

Non-physical Lego Characters In Physical?
obsidianheart replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thought LEGO didn't have the licence to do Amazing Spider-Man movie sets? -
what are these for?

Bionicle minifig weapons, aren't they? I'm not where I can open LDD to check. -
Saw it with a non-FOL adult friend. After it was over we went by a store and he bought the Super Cycle Chase and Metalbeard. For himself.

Maximum distance apart large train wheels
obsidianheart replied to garethjellis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Whoa. I wasn't trying to do that, I was just screwing around. That's why I didn't respond past the initial response to me. Anyway, I got it working a long time ago, so i'm not even asking a question. The "Maybe I'm doing something wrong?" was meant as rhetoric. Sorry I ruffled feathers. -
Maximum distance apart large train wheels
obsidianheart replied to garethjellis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I had to use one Flanged wheel and one unflanged to get it to work for me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? -
Maximum distance apart large train wheels

I dunno about maximums, but I can say from experience that the minimum is larger than this: Tried it on a MOD, and the train wouldn't turn. -

She's not! She was furious with me when I sold one of the unopened sets after she told me to "get rid of the stuff in the understairs closet". She meant everything but those, apparently.

They were! I know a girl who bought them all when they came out because "It was the closest thing [she] thought we'd ever get to Indiana Jones." Later, they came out with Indiana Jones, and she put all the sets in storage.

Future The LEGO Movie Sets - Wishlist
obsidianheart replied to Sir Brickalot's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was treating it as just kind of a "What if they did a third wave after the DVD release" and these were all I could really come up with. -

The Cement Mixer/assault ship from the Battle of Bricksburg (the Man Upstairs can be seen disassembling this and gluing it down after rebuilding it as a City Vehicle) , the Dual-Rotor Police Heli with Police Bot Bike, The Wild West Pig-Drawn Hot Rod, aaaaaaand maaaaybe that Wild West Train. -
What I am saying is I don't think they are as similar as you do.

And the length of the body, and that ridiculous tail is gone, and the canopy's better...

LEGO Ultra Agents 2014

Vehicle in the Infearno set turns into a hovercraft. -

I really, really want one of these, but none of the various promotions to get it are applicable for me. And I'm not going to pay $40-$50 dollars for one off Bricklink.

Saw it. Loved it. Taking the thumb-bolt lock off the LEGO cabinet.

While I must admit I don't know enough about China and it's history or mythology to speak on the likelihood or excitement factor of a China-representative theme, I figured I'd use this opportunity to let people know that there is a third-party customizer who makes some pretty rad stuff based around Chinese folklore/history. So, you might go give BrickTW a look if you haven't already.

LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
obsidianheart replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I don't care if it's a "waste", I'mma own one. Make it race the old one. Gonna build a second one in the old Agents colors (maybe)! I dunno, I'm just excited. -

I keep forgetting to memorize the official set names, so hopefully this makes sense: I think the green-haired lady is Toxita, and the bowler dude is Retox. In the background of the picture of My Tank is Fists, you can see Greenstuff hanging from a chain, and in the Hosicopter picture below it, there's a chain coming out of the copter. It could be the lighting, but to me, the guy in the Infearno set looks like he has Light Bley hair when he's standing in the truck. -
I saw this on flikr the other day with no descriptions and was wondering what it was. Pretty cool stuff.
