Nice topic, I have a lot of MOC's that stopped after phase 1, no problem, sometimes I take a photo of the mechanism and then dismantle the project. When the idea catches me then I usually finish my MOCs, I try to keep my MOCs small (400 parts or less), I think this really helps when you're have not that many years experience and not so much spare time (like me). I usually work on one MOC, besides other Lego projects such as building official sets, dismantling sets and sorting/ordering pieces.

Wow, nice progress!!! Really looks complete with all those details. I've just ordered some parts to proceed my entry! -
Worked in Stud.io on modeling the fuselage to estimate which parts I need to order. This is the result so far, I really liked to use orange as secondary color, but not all used parts are available, maybe try some alternatives... Never used that many panels in a MOC! Need to finish the rear side and then I'm ready for a bricklink order. Next thing is working on the features, I've the following list: Flight controls Halogen Lighting Bar Hydraulic Rams With Electro-magnetic Clamp Paralyzer (see https://thunderbirds.fandom.com/wiki/Paralysing_A_Mini-Sub) Laser beam Cutter Missiles The features will be controles by some knobs at the under side I think... Thanks! , thanks, the dimensions are more or less final now, extended compared to my first WIP picture, room enough for some features!

[MOC] Ferrari LaFerrari 1:8

Late to the party, but this is really impressive, the looks, the features, all the details! -
Welcome to the Thunderbird 4 Intergalactic lab! When thinking about this contest the good old Thunderbirds came into my mind. When I first saw the series on TV it really fascinated me (and even then it must have been more then 20 years old). Therefore, plan is to recreate Thunderbird 4 in an Intergalactic version with all the sophisticated gadgetry. Like others I started with the rough shaping of the front and cabin with the parts I have at hand. The scale is based on the curves of the panels. Next is to start some modelling in studio to see how colors and parts work out visually, and to try different things and shapes for the cabin. In the meantime some mechanismes for the features can be worked out. Looks like a really fun challenge!

Computer science is my background, but I'm especially interested in the mechanical and design part of Technic. What I've learned on this forum is the system behind Lego that's not documented how real world machines/mechanisms work: heavy machinery, cars, aircrafts, helikopter and mechanical clocks. how to design / scale a MOC how to present a MOC how to create and publish instructions and the joy of all kind of people from around the world recreating your MOC's And, last not least, it is nice to share our Technic/Modeling-journey on this forum because I don't know people in my real world network that have this hobby.

General Part Discussion

That's a nice improvement, because it is cumbersome to hide those while building (yes, everybody here thinks that's important )- 5,507 replies

Original hi-res image of the internals, not sharp in some interesting spots though. https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/blt98842f56c3fda4c2/42154_alt7.png and the 360: https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/blt3ccf549734269aff/42154_v1.mp4 -
42154 - 2022 Ford GT

Agreed I like the set, looks very good, the scale is nice, and the dark blue parts... -
So to summarize, 1134 pieces, EUR 99,99 Features seems to be: loading the water using hatch on top unloading the water with the rhs lever working propellers using a lever of some sort, right behind the front wheels landing gear reasing/lowering with knob on lhs working elevator controlled with knob on rhs The airplane seems to be inspired on Canadair fire fighting planes, I like the basic colors! A flight control linkage would have been nice, but I understand they didn't want to copy the 42040. I think I'm going to order the missing pieces when available and build it... not enough new pieces in this set to buy it completly new...

30655 Forklift with Pallet
GerritvdG replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Fun little build, I used the stud.io model of @R0Sch to check everything, one remark, on the official pictures the axle and pin connector perp. 3L is black, on the PaB part-list this is DBG (seems an error there). Took the freedom to correct this in the 30655 studio model, part list: My build in various stages of lifting the pallet: Works pretty well, although the cone is a little bit small -
Voted, fantastic work on this GBC-contest to all participant! Number one was easy for me, I consider @Berthils Ferris Wheel GBC as a work of art, that's not only because of the Ferris Wheel, but also the straight line mechanism (Tusi couple) and the quality of the video is unparalleled. Then it became more difficult, but the elegance and presentation of @Akassins Serpentine was decisive for me. Then the difficult decision between the entries of @higgins91 @doug72 @Philtech and @howitzer were each entry has it own pros and cons, really well done, inspiration for GBC builders around the world!
