  1. Well I wouldn't say I wasn't interested in the Galactic Marines per se, it's just that I don't necessarily need another clone legion. I think they have a cool design and I certainly wouldn't mind getting them, but the UT-AT was probably would have been the more exciting element of the set for me had it happened because it's just something different. I already have a turbo tank and a fighter tank and a (red) gunship, so something a little more unique would have been cool. I'm not at all sure I'd have bought it even if it had been a UT-AT, it's more just that it being a remake of something I already have crushed a lot of my interest. A new legion is cool ofc but it's hard to justify buying a $150 set just for that sadly.
  2. I feel like the Turbo Tank is objectively a good choice (iconic vehicle that hasn't been remade in a long time), and as (I think?) @Mandalorianknight pointed out it isn't really fair to blame Lego here since the UT-AT thing was purely rumors, but this is still a bit disappointing to me. I still have the CW one and honestly I just don't feel the need to upgrade, even if this one is substantially better. The Galactic Marines are cool but I barely even knew who they were before the rumors started so I'll probably end up skipping this one, which is a bit of a shame since I was potentially interested before. At this point I'm not sure I'll be getting much from this year, probably the new battle packs (though I'll wait for a discount on the clones) and the U-Wing? Maybe I'm forgetting something else but the rest is either uninteresting or too expensive or both.
  3. I mean, that might be a factor but I think it's probably more just that it's run its course. We have to remember that Ninjago is the exception not the rule when it comes to in-house action Lego themes, typically they just last a few years. I don't know if Lego has ever talked too much about why that is but I'm sure they have their reasons, it's probably easier to get kids interested in a new theme because it's just more exciting and interesting when it's new and they're growing up with it the whole time, and cycling through original themes give them more room to experiment and be creative. If anything I think it's a testament to Monkie Kid's success that it lasted this long, I'm not sure any action theme has lasted this long since Ninjago? That all said though, it is sad to see it go. I haven't bought any MK sets in a few years but I really appreciate how unique the theme has always felt thanks to its cultural influences being pretty different from something like Ninjago. I hope we get some kind of successor series, maybe a little more focused on locations if possible (not expecting that though obviously lmao).
  4. I really wonder what it'll be based on, feels like there's just so many directions they could go that it's kind of impossible to predict. I guess if we're just going by sales, the most popular games they haven't covered already are Tears of the Kingdom and Twilight Princess, so maybe one of those? Tears of the Kingdom sold around double what Twilight Princess did but its fanbase overlaps more with Breath of the Wild so I could see it going either way if it was down to one of those, and they could always do a 2-in-1 again (or maybe a 3-in-1, who knows). Personally I'd love if it's another Ocarina of Time set since there are so many important characters I'd love minifigures of, but honestly I'll take just about anything if its based on a mainline game (and somehow I doubt it will be inspired by the CD-i games ). I am a bit disappointed at the release timing though. Didn't think it'd take that long to get another Zelda set, but I suppose that just gives me more time to save for it.
  5. Not too surprising/interesting on its own, but it's cool to know there's some information already out there. I wonder if next year is still going to be Dragons Rising or if they're going to move on to a different story arc.
  6. See if we're talking just about popularity then I'd agree, but I think there are other factors worth considering. Obviously Rogue One and Andor aren't super high priority for new sets, but if we get any at all then I'd say there's a good chance Krennic would be included given that he's a major antagonist. Conversely, I'm sure we'll see tons more Mando sets, but I don't know if there will be a lot more focus on season 1. We've already got 3 seasons and BoBF, and now the movie is happening, and there'll definitely be more after given his popularity. With the pace Lego covers new material, they don't really have a lot of room to go back and do sets based on the previous seasons. I'm sure they could if they really want to, but I guess I just don't think it seems like a set with Kuill would be a priority any time soon with how much other Mando stuff Lego can do.
  7. Plus Krennic could show up again if they ever revisit Rouge One or if they include him in an Andor set, which is probably more than we can say for Kuill </3
  8. I'm kinda meh on the sets, that was to be expected though and I am glad we're getting a new Plo at least. Also on the subject of the mech, I would guess the reason why it's red instead of black is just to differentiate it from Vader's. If it followed the color scheme of the Maul minifigure included in the set, it'd look kinda similar to Vader's but just with a different lightsaber.
  9. That's a good point, but I do think we have to consider the length of time between the cancellation of the original UT-AT and the new one we're getting now. The original one was planned to release something like ten years ago, whereas we're only five years out from the remade Bounty Hunter Pursuit. Not saying it's impossible by any means, but if they were willing to cancel it five years ago, I'm not sure why they'd want to make it now when there are even fewer playsets on shelves to begin with. Edit: Forgot to say this but also in the case of the UT-AT, it's very obvious what changed in the market to make Lego release one, that of course being clone mania. Afaik Episode II hasn't really had any kind of surge in popularity like that.
  10. I get what you mean (and agree for the most part) but surely that's a little overdramatic to say in response to Pokemon of all things getting a Lego theme? I mean that's literally the most popular media franchise on Earth, an army of kids will be asking for those sets come Christmas 2026. Relatedly (and to get back on topic), I feel like LSW is by far the worst offender when it comes to increased prices and being more aimed at adults (which are two very related factors). I think Lego has realized that Star Wars is getting to be more popular with adults than kids and are seizing on that by aiming more at collectors and bumping up prices accordingly. Idk maybe I'm just being overdramatic and reading too much into it, but it really feels like the LSW I knew as a kid is dead. They still put out some cool sets but the prices are just outrageous compared to nearly every other Lego theme, and the overall quality feels like hit-or-miss to me.
  11. This is really cool and honestly not something I expected to happen at all. Really wild that pretty much of all of Nintendo's biggest franchises are being represented in Lego now (aside from Super Smash Bros I guess, but who knows at this point).
  12. No yeah I completely agree. I think there's even less of an argument against a revision than there was for the stormtroopers, because as you said we've had 26 years to buy B1s. Even if you're just getting into LSW now and want a bunch of the current B1s, they've been available so long and with such minimal changes that you can buy them for next to nothing online, and I doubt they're going to get significantly more expensive even if we get a revised version. They feel pretty outdated and you'll always be able to get the old ones online for cheap, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't do an upgrade. I'm not dying for it since I just don't care about B1s too much either way (and I already have more than I would ever need), but I think a new mold or two is certainly warranted.
  13. Yeah the shrine goes on sale a lot it seems, I swear Amazon has had it for $70-$80 for like six months now (speaking of which, I really should grab that soon).
  14. The set looks great, but yeah the price is pretty bad. The GWP sounds pretty neat but I can probably live without it, so if I end up getting this one I'm waiting for a sale or lots of bonus Insider points. I'm guessing it's less to do with tariffs and more because Lego just thinks they can get away with it. Most of the licensed 18+ sets are pretty overpriced, so we probably just got kind of lucky with Rivendell and Barad-Dur.
  15. Woah, these all look really good. The Legends dragon is amazing, I'm completely sold already. Fire Knight Mech looks great too. The Bounty is excellent, I want to see more but I think it's at worst the second best they've ever done. The mech jet is the only one I'm not 100% on, the jet looks good but the mech looks a bit chunky for my liking. Definitely need higher res pictures though before I can really judge that. Overall though this wave looks really good so far. If the rest of this one is up to this level of quality, this is easily going to be one of the most impressive Ninjago waves ever.
  16. The Mario Kart set isn't something that personally interests me, but it's got to be one of the most impressive sets I've seen in forever. The shaping of his face is just so ridiculously impressive that I almost can't believe it's real.
  17. Wow the U-Wing looks pretty good. I wish it could have been a bit bigger but for what it is, I think it's great. Kind of insane that it's only $10 cheaper than the original, though I'm sure the original would be at least $100 if it released now.
  18. There are definitely plenty of younger fans, but I am pretty confident there are enough older fans that it wouldn't be an issue. Nintendo has said before that people 20 to 30 are the largest demographic of Switch owners, and even if someone was a kid when BotW released, they may very well be an adult now. That was eight years ago as of tomorrow!
  19. Kind of surprised they didn't throw R2's head on the X-Wing mech. Droid focused mechs seem like they make more sense than what we've been getting so far, but I guess the point is more just to include popular characters at a relatively low pricepoint, so I'm not sure we'll see any other than maybe Threepio or maybe R2 if they want to get creative.
  20. I feel like Eiji Aonuma's comments when the Deku Tree launched and the fact that Zelda has its own theme page on Lego's website all but confirms we'll get another set eventually. But yeah idk, maybe they want a big gap between the Deku Tree and the next one, or they were waiting to see how sales were?
  21. There hasn't been any word on more Zelda sets yet, right? I haven't seen anything yet at least, which is kind of surprising, but I guess even if they make another it might not be until the end of this year.
  22. I think budget constraints would probably keep the count significantly lower. With the Death Star there's bound to be a lot of reused minifigures, whereas only a handful of minifigures included a Minas Tirith set would reuse existing prints (aside from maybe heads). I think somewhere in the ballpark of 30 would be possible, but even then I'm not super confident in that number since Barad-Dur had significantly less than Rivendell despite being not that much cheaper. I guess that's another reason why smaller sets would be nice, though. They could definitely hit all the major characters even if the count was around 20, and then smaller sets could let people army build and maybe get some of the main characters if they don't want to shell out $1000 or whatever. I doubt it'll happen but I feel like that'd be a good way to handle it.
  23. Ouch, that's one expensive battle pack. Hopefully I can get it for $30 eventually, I can't imagine it's going to be that popular with the average consumer at that price. Are clone bros really whaling hard enough that this thing is going to sell well or is Lego just losing it?
  24. Yeah I've noticed that the selection at most retailers has been a lot more limited lately. Maybe it's just because Lego makes so many sets now and there's only so much shelf space, but idk it's just annoying. I probably would have bought the smaller Kai mech from last year on a whim if I saw it in-person but I still haven't yet.
  25. Well I qualified it as such because I think it's objectively bad for us and Lego certainly makes enough money to keep them at $10, but like realistically their not going to do that. They like seeing the big important numbers go up as much as anyone else and there has been a decent bit of inflation in the last few years, so it's not shocking. But I have no doubt they could keep selling these things at $10 and be fine financially. On that subject, I'd definitely have preferred if the builds had just been scaled down a little bit and they kept the $10 (or even $13) price. I guess it might be annoying for collectors who're into the ships, but I'm only buying them for the minifigures so yeah. I hope so, that'd be cool if nothing else. I guess they could always re-use the mold in future sets if they made a more generic death trooper helmet but idk, I already have a few of the older death troopers so I don't care too much.
