Asigning pink color for a job or divisions is a bigger problem. With my theory you could say there's women segregation, but with your option we have male astronauts forced to wear a color usually designed for girls, which I found this more denigrant thanthe only women color. This is an abstract of a study done in the matter. In many cultures worldwide, one stereotype emerges: Pink is associated with girls and blue is associated with boys. Based on the enclothed cognition theory, the present study examined the effects of men's pink clothing on gender-related self-cognition and sex-role attitudes. Male Japanese participants wore either a pink or blue coat and completed a gender stereotype Implicit Association Test, a self-rating scale, and gender attitude scales (a measure of egalitarian sex-role attitude and the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory). Results showed that among participants with low self-esteem, the implicit self–feminine association was stronger in the pink condition than in the blue condition. On the other hand, participants with high self-esteem explicitly associated themselves more with power-oriented traits compared with interpersonal-oriented traits when they wore a pink coat compared with those who wore a blue coat. Additionally, participants in the pink condition expressed stronger egalitarian sex-role attitudes and weaker benevolent sexism than those in the blue condition. We propose that men's pink clothing is a means of diminishing gender stereotypes and traditional sex-role attitudes.

Well that's the "oficial" version of the colors. So I can't do anything about that. Jens also said that originally the WHITE ones were going to be Astronauts and the RED ones Cosmonauts, like competing factions, but with the cold war going on, the idea was discarted and they change it to Explorers and Pilots.

Something I post a while ago. According to the creator of the Classic space theme and mini-figures, Jens Nygaard Knudsen: the Red astronauts were supposed to represent PILOTS, the White astronauts were supposed to represent EXPLORERS, the Yellow astronauts were supposed to represent SCIENTISTS, the Blue astronauts were supposed to represent SECURITY and the Black astronauts were supposed to represent SPIES. Now, what represent the new colors is just opinions. For me, Green is Mech Pilot, Orange is maintenance, Pink could be female astronaut, Grey could be senior astronaut, Dark Purple could be an astronaut suffering asphixia for not having airtanks. (wink)

Entry for the 90TH ANNIVERSARY: SPACE CELEBRATIONS. A Spaceship designed only for outer space missions. I wanted something that look different from what we are use to see in Lego space sets, something that looks made for extraterrestrial purposes. To be used only in space. Holds an exploration vehicle as maximum cargo load. It also carries a small space fighter on the back hangar, it is posible to cramp in 2 of those. Also has a repair droid for external ship mantainance.Between the front cargo bay and the back hangar, there's a rest area for the crew. Enloy it.

Hello. I made some changes to the Giant Classic Space Droid and made a version of one of the droids included on set 70816 and the small 70841 set. The new designs can also hold both vehicles, but instead of a cockpit head, the robot is controled at the chest and has an engline cover. Pictures of both designs are now uploaded on the Lego Ideas project. Now the question is, Which one of them to feature? Please pick your favorite design.

Images for a week The idea came after watching some of those Beyond the Brick videos about CS fans creating huge versions of iconic space sets. At first, I tried to make a 4x version but I miscalculate the dimensions and ended building the "feet" dish into 8x.I felt it was easier to make a version of this size, so I continue this way. When I start building the body of the robot, I realize it was big enough to fit a small vehicle instead of creating a base building inside, so I redesign the project and manage to create a rover with exploring features like a sensor dish and a remote cam. Then I realized it needed a ramp to enter and be deployed from the robot. The rest was easy just adding a flying unit and pay homage to the iconic Robot Command Center and tried to fit in as much as possible features included in the 6951. The head was a headache! The first version had two antennae on the size of the head, but the thing looked like Princes Leia with those two huge side control sticks. However, had a cool feature, you could pull the back of the head and take out the command chair and the floor of the cabin, however the side sticks were too huge and decided after exploring other options to place one antenna on the back of the robot and use the sides to place or take out the robot pilot. Then notice the side walls needed some sort of features to make it more interesting and opted for communication dishes and sensor devices to be deployed for exploration. And that's how I created this robot. I was surprise many people are contacting me expressing this is a cool creation which is perfect as an homage of Classic Space. I thank everyone for your support and I'm exploring the possibility of upgrades by adding specialized tools for the robot or a manteinance platform, to name some.

It was never my intention to ofend anyone. I'm just sharing my idea with everyone here. In a brief way. I always answer your questions about my creations here and I also review some of the works of other members. A friend helped me up with a new format to show my creations on Facebook by posting images and posting the link below the images, is this what are you refering to? Any information you suggest I add to my post? Can I type it in Spanish? Is easier for me to write it down that way. I'm on the best disposition to answer your questions about my creations. You just have to ask.

That's an interesting way to see this. I calculate you can fit inside the cargo bays and cockpit around 15 normal size droids. Cramp in around 20 to 30 of those same droids. Thank you for your support! I really need it. You are very perceptive. It's like the fusion of the SP081 Droid and the R C C. I tried to cramp in as much features of that set as I could. Paying homage to that iconic set.

Greetings! Let me present my newest Lego Ideas project. This is an homage to the droids included in Classic Space sets on the late 80s. The robot comes with a flyer and a rover which can be hold inside the unit's body. Also, the head serves as the cockpit. 10497 Galaxy Explorer 90th anniversary set
Operacion Saturno replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
For a while I feared this was going to be just another big flop like the 11022 set. Something idealized by Lego fans taking it to a state of visualizing this rumor as absolute truth. Good thing I was wrong.- 535 replies

Hello. After discussing here about the dismissal of the 90's magnets from Lego due safe issues, I decided to upgrade the base and remove all magnets and exchange them for Hooks and Lifting Rings. Taking out those retired pieces. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/43814e85-ead4-46d0-886c-b024d6156756 I'll update the lego ideas project pictures in a few days, in the meantime, enjoy the images.

Classic Space Space Modular Vehicle
Operacion Saturno replied to Operacion Saturno's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I'm not sure the 2128a or b 6x6 octagonal canopy are large enough to close the back of the 4741 outward windows. It could be solved with a 2598 10x10 octagonal canopy or a 95198 8x8 half sphere canopy, but none of them existed back in the 80s.
