  1. Which is the optimal part for the lekku?
  2. This is the first I have seen of this one. How does it compare in size with the ucs set which I thought was supposed to be minifig scale? It looks smaller to my eyes. I would like to do some mods to the cockpit of the ucs to make the front look more accurate. This version definitely looks more accurate in that respect
  3. Nice job. That’s a good idea. I wonder how it would look with the new Vader helmet? Are they similar size?
  4. Good job with this. It looks way better than the default build
  5. Hi Mirko There are many of us excited about the B-project. just a thought, for the inside of the model have you explored the option of using the official light up LED Lego bricks, similar to those used in Jerac's Razor Crest? It wouldn't be useful for the engine lights but it would be relatively easy to incorporate (maybe).
  6. I have made a slight revision based on Alex feedback. It reveals more than I would like but I agree that things stick out far less
  7. Thanks, I think you are right, I’ll look at making a slight revision in that area
  8. I read something Jerac wrote once saying that if you want a challenge, try to build a decent looking X-wing. I tried it and it was bloody hard. I have the instructions for Jerac's X-wing but wanted to see if I could make some improvements to 75218 before stripping it down for parts. This is probably the best looking X-wing lego have made (I didn't like the size of the UCS one) but the one thing they have never been able to do in any set is really capture the nose area, which always seems to blocky and rectangular. This is my attempt at a smoother no studs nose design. Credit goes to Ron Mcphatty for the excellent engine, landing gear and hidden x-foil mechanism mods. They are all incredible and can be found here. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-36569/ron_mcphatty/red-5-x-wing-t-65-set-75218-mod/#details My mods focused entirely on the nose and cockpit area which I rebuilt a few studs longer. The cockpit is raised and angled and stud shooters removed. I built a little holder for Luke's lightsaber as it always annoys me when they don't put a weapon holder in. I have tried to taper the nose as best as possible. There are a few illegal moves in this mod with a dodgy technique I'm pretty sure I invented to achieve the upward slope underneath. I have managed to retain Ron's excellent landing gear at the front The stand is a combination of my own design built upon a base design by Barneius https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-17386/barneius/x-wing-display-stand-lego-sets-75102-75149-75218-75273/#details I hope you like my x-wing Mod
  9. I have built Shinycar's design and I am pleased to say that it worked. Its definitely stable but I added some plates to the bottom to stop it from bowing upwards at the sides of the base. It seems to the about the correct hight to keep the lines of the wings nice and straight with the sides of the hull. All in it cost me under £50 to build which is a huge saving on what it would have been to build the official base and tower. With the wings out this thing is especially imposing. I have built the stand as more of a curiosity really to just see the Director it in all its glory, unfortunately I don't have the space to keep it in flight mode like this all the time, so its safely landed now, back with the rest of the fleet.
  10. What do we think of the scale on that mandolorian fighter? Does it appear to be correctly proportioned?
  11. I just came here to say that, I know you guys all love a bit of arm printing
  12. I’m pretty underwhelmed by Vader’s meditation chamber. It sounded cool on paper but now that I have seen it, I’m not sure I’m willing to pay £60-70 for that. It looks like a £35-40 set at most. Maybe on a sale I’ll pick that up. does anyone else feel the value of some of these newer sets just isn’t that great off the bat?
  13. Well, In mando they appeared to fix the unfixable many times. It kept getting so battered but they fixed It again just enough to keep going to the next episode. When it got completely nuked in season 2 my Mrs turned to me and said “they will probably repair that again” haha
  14. Ah ok, I’ll probably just get on with it then I can’t wait that long. If and when that happens would you provide a conversion Parts list and directions for those who want to upgrade later?
  15. Are we talking a future v2? I have been hanging on to make this until I can get everything I need at a price I am happy with but may hang on a little longer if a revision is coming.
  16. that looks great. would you mind sharing the parts list for it? I love the actual design for the official stand but the cost is a bit prohibitive for me which is the main reason I didnt go for it off the bat. If there is a cheaper way to safely display it in flight mode then I would definitely want to try that.
  17. Project update. it is finished! The idea I had about using the UCS Imperial shuttle stand was a complete failure. It needs to be almost twice the height due to the incredible size of these wings. I think I will need bite the bullet and build the official stand eventually but for now it looks good enough in its landed position. I was able to add a little interior space and give Krennic the window view but its really tight in there due to the angles of the outside plating. I have recorded my thoughts and put together my first ever video. Its my first time recording or using an editor so im afraid its definitely not Jangbricks level https://youtu.be/VKHc0oBbG18 Overall I am very, very happy with this model. it feels fully UCS and makes a fine addition to my minifig scale ship collection. On the verge of greatness!! Cockpit Mod
  18. Very nice. I love the B-wing as its so unique. Good job
  19. you can test it before its built as I was playing with it before i built the main body. I think by step 104 you should have most of what is needed built to see if its working. there is an illustration around there which shows how everything needs to be aligned. you twist the axle that will eventually be its shoulder joint (inside the technic rectangle) which releases the catch and lets the leg drop. Its difficult to explain but if you follow all the instructions and alignments to this point, it should work. good luck
  20. Its not the angle that drops it, its the rotation of the shoulder joint that essentially releases the catch and lets the leg drop down. check that the orientation of all the pieces for the centre mechanis are in the right place as per the instructions and it should work. perhaps post a picture of how yours looks.
  21. Project update, my final parts have come in and I started the build this evening. As builds go its a pretty interesting start and unlike anything I have done in a long time. I am still fairly early in the build of the main body but I can already see that I underestimated the size of this thing, its footprint is pretty big owing to its pyramid like shape. I cant wait to have this sat side by side with my imperial shuttle. I hope I can find somewhere to let its wings out too. I have a feeling they are going to be huge!
  22. Great mod. Your channel is really good too. I always look forward to new content. Keep it going!
  23. Good job, I have been working on my own heavy mod for 75218 recently and I am just waiting for some parts in the right colour before showing it. I need to find somewhere I can take cool pictures but I am not sure where or how to do it. I am not sure how to make instructions either
  24. Costs and project update for UK folk I have just ordered the parts in. I spent 2 days working on getting the best price I could to make the shuttle only The package comes with a few different parts lists Shuttle only Shuttle and Base stand Shuttle and Base stand with Tower (for flight mode) The base stand and tower account for around 40% of the total parts if you go for the super deluxe version. I opted to go for shuttle only to keep the costs down. My plan is to create an additional module to go with my UCS imperial shuttle stand to give it a slight hight increase and alternate which shuttle I have in flight mode at any given time. I will post pics eventually Christians estimate of around $300 seemed accurate for the shuttle only. I was coming in around £215 ish if you are starting from zero parts (minifigs not included) I already have 2 copies of the krennic shuttle playset (75156). one from when it came out and another I picked up cheap on ebay with only 2 deathtroopers and no box or instructions. I would definitely advise getting this at least 1 of this set for the figures and also the crossover parts I made additional parts lists by deducting both 1 and 2 sets to see the price savings for using shared parts and messed around for hours to compare. I found that having 1 playset does chop a very decent chunk off the cost. It went down from £215 to around £177 for having 75156. I found that having an additional set provided diminishing returns due to there being less pieces needed from the second set My total lowest cost for Shuttle only - 2x krennic shuttle playsets = £162 ($225 at todays rate) so the second set only knocked off an additional £15 really. not bad though as I have krennic and 4 death troopers now My plan is to use the leftover playset pieces from both sets to build out an interior for the minifigs as this is the only thing that appears to be lacking with this model. Looking through the instructions there appears to be plenty of interior space for seating, a cockpit etc but nothing is designed apart from the internal structure. It is a bit of a blank canvas inside which is cool as I can have fun making it my own. I plan to post pictures once done :)
