EB for news/chat/MOCs/general forum fun, BL for parts lookup/buy and BS for checking my inventory allthough they got a decent forum to boot. Da Bro's Brick is also a good place to see the latest MOCs at. And then there all those sneaky blogs (can't name them, I just find them through google) who don't give a flying fvck about posting confidential pics that we all search frantically for about this time a year anyway

First rule of the internet : Post anything online and you're likely to get abused Does not matter if you got copyright, trademark or even if you're so nice to use cc Yes, it's your design. You could send the offender an email, but really don't loose any sleep over it. It's just not worth it Post your original design on all the importent fora/blogs and we will know who's the maker and who's the faker Nice minifig anyway

Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
1974 replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, the top stud is pretty chewed (on both of my domes) .. hard to attach anything to them. I may have to resolve to using glue (<-- did I really say that?) Edit : It does say "LEGO" on the top stud though, even if it's hard to spot. I do think my pics a re somewhat better than the last ones .. helps to jack up the resolution on the camera, I guess The PoP arch (which is Medium Dark Flesh, btw) does NOT have the same curve as the new gothic style : Versus I don't have any of those wonderfull gothic arches to compare. But I really do like the new one. I'm a real sucker for arches. Arches are also one of the oldest 'special' bricks made by TLG, going back to all the way to 1971 -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?

Ok, time for some more funny parts These two tan pieces (and yes, they ARE tan! ) are also quite interesting I think. To the best of my knowledge they're not in the BL catalogue (<-- but I could of course be wrong, sigh) The 'double PoP arch' has the same feel and colour as my old Johnny Thunder sets. I've bought a few of those sets MISB, so I know they're old type bricks. Newer tan bricks seem much more smooth and glossy, imo The 'onion dome' is much different though. Softer plastic and much more glossy, a bit like the larger half onion domes, but softer still. I have no other LEGO bricks with the same feel, so it's probably some type of prototyping plastic? Both parts have the marking "FF" inside, no numbers at all Check 'em out (and yes, that is a 2x6 clear Technic plate ) : The 'onion dome' is actually made out of two pieces : Here, I have attached a PoP arch (88292) .. it's not exactly the same curve but close. This part (not the PoP arch) is also at least 12 years old : I only have two arches and two domes but they'll go perfectly with a 'Johnny Thunder in Egypt' type of MOC I'm doing That's all for now Cheers, Ole -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?

No, that's all the pneumatic I got, 'cept the yellow ones and the old type red ones (and the new mini pump from the Unimog, light bluish grey is it?) I'd really kill to have a bunch of white ones as well, but my source has no more. He did also throw in 25 airtanks (blue only) for a penny .. -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?

There can only be one Blacktron and it's black, yellow and trans yellow! That other stuff is from my dark age and not cool at all Brickipedia is full of wierd stuff (and mistakes) and that last sentence does not make much sense anyway .. You're completely right, I messed up. I've edited those posts Thanks But the solution is just to use normal yellow pneumatics and upgrade to the right Blacktron colours, hehe I so much luv your Brickshelf folder. It's like Nirvana for an old spacehead like me. Very good work Very good collection there! In general I think there's many parts 'out there' in colours we'd like. If TLG manufactures these for the modelbuilders in the parks I think they should simply sell them online. They'll make money, we'll be happy Darn, that baseplate Yes, at least my competion shooters are the same colour -

Well, I am slightly colourblind but I think they're the same. Will check when I get home and take a pic with a HP bus window Yes, it's just a normal 2875 I was looking at an unfinished train of mine waiting for two of those parts (I've got got none in the regular colours) and for some reason I made a gap 8 brick wide for the roof. It should be 6, doh! Didn't know they looked like that on the underside though .. -

Sorry, my multi legged chicken friend, there can only be ONE Blacktron! True about the black pump, I got a little sloopy there, sorry I've posted all the colours of cylinders (of any kind) I got and my resource is quite empty now But I got a rather decent stash of those parts (+200, including yellow) Yeah, all that purple, just what to do with it? One thing I didn't check though, is to see if that vintage dark purple is similar to new TLG dark purple. It probably isn't -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
1974 replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ok, back from a zip of redwine .. Amongst those parts were these : Yes, that IS a an inverted 4 x 2 slope! The counterpart 4 x 2 slope was released in 1999, this part is at least a few years older : On the bottom is has stud indents so it can connect to a plate, much like the larger 4228 : See here : My batch also have clear markings on the end as coming of a sprue? : So this might be a test mold? (Or is it mould, I can't quite figure out the right word - is this another bloody US/UK thing??) The Technic brick is a bit of a .. hmm .. But I guess this was about the time when TLG was going studless and things got a bit offset? Last part is just a standard 2875 In case you're wondering if these parts are genuine, I can asure that they are. They all have TLG numbers inside, but I do not have the vision to check them out I'll borrow a USB microscope from work and try to get the numbers, if anyone is interested Edit : Checked, there are no markings or numbers on any of those two funny bricks Thanks for the patience Cheers, Ole -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?

Today, I got another package from my friend He threw in a couple of kilos of dark purple parts. I wasn't sure what to expect, though. Purple is not exactly a colour I'm looking for, but ever since I picked up a few HP busses, I've allways wanted to make an epic starship for Brick Daddy with those train windows Getting good looking trans yellow window panes for that project seems kinda impossible though .. I've only gotten a bunch of scratched parts of BL. It's not that hard to get good looking trans yellow parts, but ordinary panes must have been a favourite amongst kids to scratch up But alas, even a blind bat like me should be able to spot it's just regular purple, NOT dark purple Here's a shot with some dark purple bricks from the HP bus and a large purple Belville frame (I actually do have a bit purple bricks, so I should have checked, sorry) : So, here's the loot : As you can spot there are many parts, not currently in the BL catalogue! Before I proceed to the real goodies, I'll add that ALL of these parts from my friend are at least 12-15 years old. So as you can see TLG have indeed thought of all the bricks we lust for in years in advance Among the parts I think are not officially released are many long plates, technic bricks, tiles and wingplates More later ... -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
1974 replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, all these wonderfull parts came pretty much straight from Billund with a slight detour From time to time I recieve a package from my friend and I often get surprises like this Ah, but for Blacktron you only need yellow, black and trans yellow Cheers, Ole -
All I'm looking forward to is the new train windows .. sigh .. what a rehash Young boys must be the most narrowminded creatures on earth (<-- according to TLG that is, real life says something different) and girls seem to much more clever (again accor .. Hello honey you're home? I'm just typing away on EB, honestly not saying things you woul ... SLAM DUNK!) Ok, off to bed!

New issues with Lego's Legal Department...
1974 replied to Paul Boratko's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Paul, you need to speak with someone who actually makes the shots within TLG .. right now you're being 'automated' I'm dissapointed if the ambassadors cannot point you in the right direction? Afterall that is what Kim (and many others) where hired to do .. (so I've been told) -
What TLG do is not rocket science (TLG's logistics is though and you'll never find these knockoffs worldwide as such) and soon the IP pirates WILL be able to produce bricks/minifigs just as good. I'd really stay clear of evilbay (who doesn't seem to give a damn) when looking for items likes this
-
I agree. Also, beams will be pink only. Axles will be the new azure blue and bushings will be orange. Gears will be lime green. Pneumatics will be phased out and everything will be PF powered through tiny LAs. It's all about TLG's masterplan to make allanp go bonkers. You heard it here first I don't think so, 2014 will be less interesting, regarding new parts, compared to the last couple of years. At least that's what I've heard/seen

Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
1974 replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hungarian .. that's so off world (no price for anyone who gets that reference) I'll be posting some serious rad parts in this weekend .. stay tuned -
And for those customers it does not matter one iota what the colour of those interesting parts are. It would be cheaper for TLG to just throw in some black ones (unless they got loads in stock in grey) .. this is clearly an attempt to kill the aftermarket sellers. Or help out anyone who wants to BL a Falcon And will that dish come in the next Serious Play set?
