I still think they can just include some transparent radar dishes for Sue's force fields and invisibility could be left to the imagination. Reed could be a challenge, but there are still a few options they could choose from, like Woody arms and legs, or maybe something like the stilted juggler from the just revealed Mixer set?

The movie is over a year away, so of course it isn't very anticipated yet. Neither was Guardians of the Galaxy, but plenty of people seem pretty hyped for it now that the trailers have started. Unless Age of Ultron is almost universally hated, which would be a huge surprise, then Ant-Man will probably do pretty well as long as the trailers don't make it out to look terrible. We may not get movie based sets though, considering that LEGO may only be able to produce a toyline based on one Marvel movie per year without paying an additional fee and it seems insane to me to not pick the Avengers, I fully expect that Ant-Man (and hopefully Wasp) will appear in a set in 2015, whether it be his own or with the comic/cartoon Avengers we got this year.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
SoupOrFishOil replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I did forget about Voldemort, so thanks for that reminder, but I think that his snake slits are iconic, whereas the turtles' noses are no more special than Anakin or Snape's. -
I'm not a big fan of it, personally. The colors on the copter are messy and it feels just a little incomplete (though not as much as either recent Batwing) and Nightwing's glider is just odd. I don't find Man-Bat very desirable, either, and Batman, though I like the figure, is the same old one. Nightwing is the only real draw, in my opinion, and he's not a great minifigure. Good, but not great. It's my least favorite of the DC sets in its price range so far.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
SoupOrFishOil replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think that printed noses just look bad in 9/10 cases. Besides, pretty much every licensed character LEGO has produced, aside from the odd alien or monster, have noses in the movies/books/cartoons/video games/etc. that they appear in, but they still don't make an effort to print it on the head. The turtles are the odd ones here. But in CM4S' wise words, "It's my opinion, so " -

I think that the bigger problem with the figure is the printed nose. -

I'm pretty sure this is the answer, and not just for the story. I'd imagine non-AFOLs watching the episode would be confused why the characters would have their own heads on LEGO bodies. While that is a different kind of funny, I don't think it works with the waking up to find everything made of LEGO plot and defeats that joke a little. But maybe that's just me... Disagreed. When I watch cartoons, I may cringe at a bad animation style for a while, but if the writing and characters make up for it, I'll get over it quickly.

I guess there is a small chance we could get Egghead, King Tut, Clock King, or Mad Hatter, but I think Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and/or Catwoman are more likely. Of those four, I'd like to have Riddler the most, since it would be another chance to get him in a suit. I'd be happy with any of them though.

Do we need another Batmobile? No. But do I want a 60's Batmobile? Heck, yes! I'd much rather have it than a UCS Tumbler....

I really like this idea. I was afraid that she would end up looking like Batman, only worse, but this would be pretty much perfect.

White Tiger would have a new mold. I think that Sing's hairpiece is a good reuse for customs, but those ears she has are probably going to have to be represented on an official minifigure for it to pass Disney's expectations. The good thing about that is it means she could not be a comic-con exclusive, unless they planned to release her to the public anyway, of course. I know I'll be pretty disappointed if we do not see her next year.... Actually, if there are CC "exclusives" this year, I hope White Tiger is one, with that in mind. Kind of like Superman and Azog. I hope they have decided against actual exclusives (at least characters like Phoenix and Green Arrow) after all the controversy last year.

I actually don't think it would look so bad without the nose or ears, but, as ugly as it is, I kind of hope these are what they go with in the episode. I think it makes the joke much funnier than the characters basically just having their own heads on LEGO bodies. Still though, could have done without that nose....

LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
SoupOrFishOil replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
On the subject of Terabyte's disaster, I think, if anything, it is an earthquake since Tera sounds like Terra, which means Earth. What that has to do with hacking and exo-suits though, I have no clue. -
What is the best £/$ 20 superhero set
SoupOrFishOil replied to Peasantseverywhere's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd rank them in this order: Superman vs. Lex - This set stands alone as DC's only Justice League set. With three exclusive minifigures and a cool mech, it's easily one of my favorites. Spider-Cycle Chase - A really close second. The only reason that Lex beats this one out is because of the Spider-Man figure and his cycle, despite being the best brick-built one in the line, is sort of meh. Aquaman on Ice - Arctic Batman is cool, but not good for much, and both Freeze and Aquaman's faces are ugly, so this set isn't here for the minifigures. I know that not everyone agrees with me, but I really like the Batboat's look. Starblaster Showdown - A very unique and cool spaceship design. The only big problem with it is that the Nova corpsman's helmet is sort of ugly. Chopper Showdown - The helicopter is a little gappy, but the set is still a pretty good value. Cap vs. Hydra - I actually don't like the tank very much, nor do I care for Hydra as an organization, but it has some tempting parts and all three exclusive minifigures are admittedly quite good, even though I don't like Red Skull or Hydra, they are tempting. Black Zero Escape - This set actually surprised me, it's more fun than I thought it would be. However, the Lois minifigure is ugly, the colors are bland, and it just isn't as interesting as the other sets in this range. Cosmic Cube Escape - I really like the look of the truck with all of its sideways details, but its lack of any truly exclusive minifigures and not being a very interesting vehicle by itself hurts it. Doc-Ock - I forgot about this one originally. Really just a City set with some SH minifigures. The truck is okay, but Doc Ock is the only reason to get it, but I'd actually rather buy a normal City set. The Great Vehicles line generally has some really good stuff, and this feels like a rejected part of that. The Batcopter - Man-Bat isn't a villain I ever hoped to see, so Nightwing is the only minifigure here that interests me. On top of that, the bat-copter itself was disappointing. The design is okay, but the colors are really jumbled. Extremis Battle - The only redeeming quality that I feel this set has is the War Machine minifigure. While I'd say that the Batcopter is average and every other set here is above average this one gets a bad from me. The boat is just such a boring build and is really quite pointless. I understand that even if the sets were accurate to the movie, there wouldn't be much to do, but I really would have rather seen Killian battling IM and WM in something as nonsensical as Mandarin's bumper car. At least then it might have had a sense of fun.- 18 replies

Time for me to bump again? I'm glad to see that you are back at it! Both the Flash vs. RF and Blue Beetle are two of my favorites now. The colors and backgrounds are just so great, and LEGO's Flash would have looked amazing with boots like that. Ah, well.

I'm really impressed with the Milano's design! It seems pretty sturdy, has an interior that can seat four characters (I didn't see a pot for Groot though), has a fire extinguisher, and even the underside looks better than the typical Star Wars ship. I think it may be the best SH set of the year.

I think the "Green Lantern's been made and stamped" is actually referring to this quote he gave someone asking about his role in a future DC project: Black Adam would be cool, even without Captain Marvel I think he could work as an enemy of Hawkman, Wonder Woman, or Dr. Fate, but I wouldn't count out Green Lantern either since the movie focused on Hal Jordan and not John Stewart, different characters, and he's been dropping hints for GL, Black Adam, and Lobo for months now. He's just playing with the people who speculate. And I don't think Denzel is happening... Who said anything about the Rock being cast in BvS?

Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets
SoupOrFishOil replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
The original Star Wars sets were more or less at par with what was being released back in 1999, and then the sets have progressively grown better along with everything else. Though I don't think that as many of the sets are as bad as people say, a lot of them are not quite at the modern standard. I can't remember where this comes from, but SH is considered an evergreen theme now, so it should be selling pretty well. I guess that makes me unreliable though. Sorry, but I think that those set ideas might display why we are getting light cartoon stuff instead of Winter Soldier sets. Other than the large SHIELD base, it all deals with terrorism and there are enough police cars in the City sets. (LEGO would probably disagree with that last part though.) -
The hand probably isn't happening, but maybe an arm or leg. I think they would just make her entirely opaque and focus on her shields instead, though.

Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets
SoupOrFishOil replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree wholeheartedly with the DC stuff, but whenever I hear set suggestions for stuff based on Captain America (have any of you even seen the movie yet?) it sounds like a glorified City set, rehashed Avengers set, or just impractical (I hope that you get your helicarrier some day, but...good luck). I haven't seen Thor 2 yet and while there are some okay ideas I've heard, a lot of them seem impractical. Maybe I'm just not so enthusiastic because the Iron Man 3 sets were awful (except the mansion which was so-so), I'm not as a big fan of the movies as most of you are anyway (including and especially ASM), and even if I was, I usually don't care about having a memento and any version of the character in LEGO is a treat, but the Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble stuff bring in very diverse and more interesting minifigures than the movie sets would have. Yeah, I think that Lady Sif would be a cool minifigure and I hope that everyone gets a chance to add Malekith and Winter Soldier to their collections, but I'm just not a big fan of how most of the movie designs have translated to minifigures (except the MK 6 Iron Man, Thor, and the GOTG) and the sets are usually nonsensical or dull (again, the exceptions are the mansion, Quinjet, and the GOTG stuff). I think they do need to cut down on USM now though, the last three sets are just different degrees of terrible.... Most of that can be chalked up to how Disney is managing the line, I suppose. But with DC I still blame LEGO rather than WB since Imaginext has a very diverse Super Friends line.... -
I've actually kept quiet because I have better things to do than complain about this theme again and again. You guys enjoy it, so I'll let you, and I'd expect that you would do the same for my interests.

Yeah, I had that thought too. I don't like the implications (unrelated to LEGO) that come with it though, but this isn't the place for that conversation....

I'm not actually boycotting sequels/prequels. Mostly I just forget about them and haven't gotten around to seeing either yet. I'm glad to know that you liked MU though. That's the one I'm more interested in of the two.- 279 replies
