I think so. I've researched the company which made the LED light and it looks like they've made various lamps and flashlights based on LEGO Star Wars, DC, Chima, Ninjago, City, The LEGO Movie, and Friends. Basically, there are dozens of lights and each of them, aside from Green Lantern, is pretty spot-on to minifigures who have actually appeared. It would be really odd for them to make one character who wouldn't be available elsewhere, and I imagine that would infringe on some licensing deal. And if GL weren't coming this year, then the light probably wouldn't show-up until next year, or at least much later in this year. I think it's a pretty safe bet that GL will finally appear sometime this year, probably in an exclusive like the TMNT set.

Looks like LEGO did a great job recreating the Milano. A member of FBTB found a better image of the Green Lantern light. If this is a figure we'll be getting, the mask looks sort of funny, but I'd take it anyway....

Why would they give GL boots, but not Flash? I don't mean to suggest that GL won't have them, but it's strange....

Storm is one of my new favorite minifigures. I still like Batgirl more, but it's pretty close. Wolverine and Magneto look great too. Cyclops is bland though. I like the jet for the most part, aside from the nose which looks strange. The Sentinel is okay, but I wish it had more articulation. Also, I just saw this image from a friend of a friend: (Credit to Ultron32 on Flickr) That GL design is slightly different than the one in the game...maybe, just maybe, it is on it's way? That TMNT set did come out of knowhere yesterday...

Ah, those are really cute. I think that Doc Ock is my favorite, but the detail on all of them (especially the military ones) is amazing.

And I just realized that the figure is carrying a hammer, like Ronan in the comics. I'm switching back over to this camp.

I think that the guy in the black cloak is on the GOTG box at the front of the small enemy ship. Ronan, maybe?

Weren't the Brick Show the first ones to claim LEGO would make sets for Iron Man 3? It probably wouldn't have been too hard to guess, but I think that gives them a little more credibility. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another D2C DC set this year though.

I'm just not convinced it will come in a set. It seems odd to make two variants of the same suit in the same year. If they are going to do a new print, I think they would at least make it a different costume. Unless it's a SDCC exclusive, I don't think that we will see it released.

The Sea Cow hasn't been unveiled yet, it just leaked and I don't think that we know exactly when it will come out yet, so i think that this is more than likely that. Other than the two Rebels sets, I don't think that any licensed sets have been photographed, so it seems like they weren't there, or photography wasn't allowed on licensed items.

I'm more excited for this than anything LEGO has given us this or last year, even more than Batgirl because it's so unexpected. What an amazing birthday gift, I am definitely getting that. And I was afraid LEGO would forget J'onn.... I do wish that the blue was purple, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I think that whatever figure is included with the DVD will be a variant of a more central character, like Emmet or Wyldstyle in their fancy clothes, but it is odd that GL would appear in so much of the movie's marketing (he's even prominent on the poster!) without actually ever being on the market....

Winter Soldier gets my vote. He'll be recognizable because of the new movie, and according to that German catalog, the sets will coincide with the movie's release (at least in the US). Coulson or Hill would be kind of odd exclusives because there really isn't anything about them that says "special LEGO figure". They are pretty generic if you don't know who they are. Same thing with Gwen Stacey. Any X-Men would be cool, but they aren't as mainstream as they used to be, and I imagine that Marvel/Disney would prefer that LEGO use the exclusive to push Captain America, The Avengers, or properties that they would make more money off of. We could see Spidey based on ASM2, but Winter Soldier makes more sense I think.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
SoupOrFishOil replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
These pictures of Emmet and WyldStyle dressed up also appeared on Wikia just a few minutes ago. I'm not sure where they came from, but I'll look into it. Edit: I've been told that they are "Somewhere on Lego.com." Scavenger hunt, anyone?- 2,626 replies

LEGO has had access to every character DC has published (as long as DC have the rights to that character) already. Whether the fault is LEGO's or WB's, their not taking advantage of it is the problem. We don't know how many sets the contract allows for, but it seems like it either has been increased, or the limit was already higher than we thought. Besides, a license doesn't have to expire for it to be rewritten. There is always renewal. Star Wars has gone through the process three or four times already. Evergreen means that there is a large market for the product, not that they have the rights to produce it indefinitely under their current contract (in the case of licenses), or even that it will be on shelves at all time. Dinosaurs is also an evergreen range, but they only pop up once every few years, but I think that this line would be more akin to younger Star Wars stuff than that. Being recognized as evergreen will only help the line expand and branch out because they won't have a chance to miss a beat. Right now it seems like they aren't ready to expand out of Batman, which is really unfortunate. Until then, I'd rather not see an influx sets. Over saturation isn't a good thing. Still, they could have done more with characters in the four sets that we did get. And you are right. If these sets are still around next year, then Batman, his car, three most popular villains, and three of his sidekicks will all be on the market. There should be more room, even in five sets or so, but that still doesn't mean that they'll use well (so you are right for holding your breath, I am too), but I will digress. Seconded.

I don't see what good this would do, especially where DC is concerned. That would just bring us back to square one again when it would be rereleased, like the first wave in 2011 2012 was (even though I did appreciate it). Another street chase with Catwoman, another Batwing vs. Joker, Two-Face and the Batmobile, the Batcave, then Superman and maybe Wonder Woman thrown in somewhere. It just sounds counterproductive to me. I'm dismayed by the character variety too, but letting the line age is the best I think.

Don't forget this gem. Edit: If it's evergreen like City and Star Wars, they probably can make more sets, as evidenced by this year's increase. DC is just spending those slots on Duplo and a TLM cameo for Batman while Marvel is using them for GotG and X-men. I'm still not bothered by that though, because I don't think we needed eight Batman sets this year. Maybe they'll branch out next year...but I also said that in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get Green Lantern and Robin probably should be on the market at all times, but there are already a few sets that have him covered already. Albeit they are the more expensive ones, but I'm digressing. Anyway, it's just that if we get 8-9 sets this year of all Batman with a minimal amount of new characters thrown in to make remakes and oddities more enticing, then I'd take the four sets we have now and wait a little while before they rinse and repeat. If two or three of those sets would be Superman, Teen Titans, or Justice League based and then the other slots are filled with Batman, one of which has Green Lantern, I would have no problem with that. Animated (like the Teen Titans cartoon), Red Robin, Golden/Silver age (with the pixie boots), or the Juniors one with a more accurate torso, so there are a few. I was overreacting a little anyway, since none of these would be that bad, but I'd rather see a different Bat-family member or someone from the Justice League team-up with Bats. If Robin were coming in a Teen Titans set with Cyborg, Deathstroke, or whoever, then it would be different. A lot of this probably is just waiting for the DCCU to take off (fingers crossed it will) and I am looking forward to the MoS2 sets, but right now, DC doesn't need as much merchandise as Marvel does, so I'd rather not see them milk the Bat-cow for up to five more sets with a minimal amount of new characters, if this wave is anything to go by. Galactus probably won't appear in the MCU unless Fox sells him back, but that image made me laugh. I don't think that he would be as small and spindly, but I do think that they would do Galactus similarly. I just can't seen LEGO releasing over-sized minifigure parts, but you never know. I can get behind this though. I know that one counterpoint to what LEGO has been releasing has been that WB/DC is making the decision for them, however Imaginext and LEGO have released roughly the same amount of characters, including an army of Batman, but Imaginext has unarguably had more variety in their figures; they even released Red Tornado! I would say that the biggest variable in business, aside from LEGO being more of a building toy (though IN is technically one too and it's hard to pretend that most of these sets are more about the building than the figures) is that LEGO's target age range seems to pick-up where IN's leaves off (around 6 years old), but why would there be such a big disparity if the companies weren't making these choices for themselves? Maybe WB thinks that the average 7-year old is more brooding than when he was 6 and would prefer Batman because of that? I wouldn't expect LEGO to ever release Red Tornado (I've designed close to 200 DC characters and haven't gotten to him) but some more b- and c- listers from the larger universe would be nice. Would Nightwing, Man-Bat, and Mister Freeze really sell that much better than Green Arrow, Gorilla Grodd, and Black Manta without Batman in the picture?
