  1. As many, I would love to see a BIONICLE reboot. I only got into it in its later years, even though I remember gawking over the Rahkshi and Toa Metru, but never being brave enough to actually try them. I have never been able to get into Hero Factory. I suppose the heavier sci-fi atmosphere (BIONICLE had plenty of fantasy too) and less interesting story just were not for me. I bought my first set from it just a few months ago because this minifigure gimmick has drawn my attention. The CCBS is admittedly much better than what BIONICLE has had and I really liked the unique application it had in the set I got (though there wasn't anything too fancy). And like Shakar said, the color schemes are much improved. I think what he has said would seem like reasonable things for TLG to do to give a reboot more flair, and I entirely agree. I'll try not to get too hyped up in the meantime, but I'm looking forward to catalog leaks even more than usual now. Ignore the wikia Brickipedia. I used to edit there, but all of the old admins have moved and now it is overrun with 11 year olds who don't really know how to edit. That was probably someone's speculation.
  2. I'm not really interested and would rather have a smaller playset, or a more iconic Batmobile at least. The rumored minifigures sound cool, but not $200 cool.
  3. My stance is that if they don't want to promote violence, they should have probably picked up a different license. Sure, they can try to make it more kid friendly by avoiding visually darker characters like Zsasz and putting Two-Face in bright colors, but as Front Faefrost mentioned just a few posts ago, LEGO is like a gateway drug....
  4. Could you share where/how he has been confirmed, please? I'd like to update a wiki page.
  5. Would you mind sharing how you know this?
  6. Well, we got Aquaman before Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter who were all more prominent in LB2 than him. I think he only had a cameo in the story. I would be surprised to see Green Arrow or Blue Beetle next year though, unless it is as an exclusive. But it would be a pleasant surprise....
  7. I actually think that would be a fun set, especially if they throw in a new villain and Justice Leaguer. It's still better than a Spider-trike.
  8. I actually think we will be getting most of the Justice League next year: Yeah, Batman and Green Lantern, but also Cyborg, Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Martian Manhunter. They all have redesigns for LEGO Batman 3, even though it looks like Robin is staying the same as in the previous game. If Martian Manhunter wasn't in his classic costume (but with pants instead of shorts) I could see an argument for DC just wanting to push the New 52 designs in the video game, but it seems (or seams? ) that isn't the case, at least not entirely when J'onn has a New 52 design in the plastic they could have used already, like they did with Flash. http://en.brickimedia.org/wiki/File:LB3League.jpg
  9. I don't follow USM, but from what I have heard, it doesn't seem like it takes itself too seriously. I guess hammy characters like Squirrel Girl or Porker aren't for everyone, but I'm sure that kids will enjoy him. I actually find that bio amusing, myself. And if Spider-Ham does come in a set, it isn't like anyone would have to buy it; I think he is at least better than a henchman, guard, or another pajama Spidey. And besides, pigs rock. Well, I think so anyway... Edit: That reminds me. There is going to be a "Piggy Guy" in the next CMF line. Could there be a possible part reusage here?
  10. I agree with BFN that cartoon and movie Avengers in the same year would seem like a strange choice, though I am sure they will want to get Ant-Man in next year's line-up somehow. I don't expect we'll get sets based on his movie (just going by speculation that LEGO can only do one MCU movie a year without paying extra; though 2015 would be the year to do it because he needs all the marketing he can get), so I guess we could get something from the cartoon after all. The GotG sets from this year should still be on the shelves next year, and apparently Marvel doesn't want to push the FF or X-Men, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for any of those. Three USM sets sounds right though.... I hope that the rebranding won't keep White Tiger out of the mix, though the prospect of Miles Morales is exciting.
  11. Well, these movies are going to be made by Warner Bros, and not a DC Studios, so creating three movies a year in itself won't be much of a problem, but saturation would. I don't know much about Sandman, but he shouldn't be such a big deal since he isn't a traditional superhero nor does he need to be part of the universe. WB's new CEO has said he is interested in utilizing more DC properties, but I am still skeptical about the list, mostly because of how many they would be releasing a year. Maybe we will learn more at SDCC. But whatever WB does in the future, I hope they keep Goyer far away....
  12. I kind of agree. I haven't played the last three or four LEGO games, but even the minifigure customizers haven't been so great since LSW3. The parts just feel too specialized, like "This is Joker's torso, that is Cyborg's faceplate, etc.". Maybe my imagination is just lacking, but I hope that if they are going to expand the cutomization aspect, then they will put more effort into it all around. The staff has come out and said there will not be an open world. The vehicles could just be confined to levels or mini-games.
  13. Thanks GameStop's pre-order is up. We don't get to hear of any of the bonuses yet, but they do mention that the Star Sapphire and Blue Lantern Corps home worlds will appear. I think we could have inferred that from "Lantern planets" but confirmation is nice. It also mentions that there will be a vehicle customizer.
  14. Hm, I guess a "Batmobiles through the years" set would fit in with the anniversary theme. I'm not totally convinced, but we'll see.
  15. Could The Batman of Zur-En-Arrh be the pre-order exclusive for LB3? It's probably a little out there for a regular set. The only other way I think we could get it would be...an SDCC exclusive, unless DC gets a S@H minifigure three years in a row. :P
  16. So? DC villains have been teaming up with each other since before Marvel even existed, and even then it's not an issue. If heroes are going to team up, so are the villains. Nobody is copying anybody. Not to mention, the other two Batman games did feature villains banding together. This is fair though. I'm not bothered because 150 characters to me means more "DC Universe with Batman at the forefront" than "Batman with a Justice League cameo" but yeah, you couldn't tell that from the artwork. Hopefully the series will follow the "Four is Death" trope and will be rebranded with the next installment.
  17. It sounds like the game starts with an attack from the Legion of Doom. Yellowish skin and brown spots on the arm could mean Cheetah?
  18. I think it was in an article 'TheBuoyWonder' linked to back on the first page. Maybe we are just assuming because it mentions planet hopping though.
  19. The open world was such a pain to navigate in LB2 that I don't think I will miss it very much. I guess that they are going in more of a TLM direction where the Watchtower will be a way to travel to other smaller worlds like the Batcave and Oa? So long as we can go to places on Earth other than the Batcave (Arkham Asylum, Metropolis, Paradise Island, etc.), I think I would prefer this more. I was hoping they would ditch the supersuits, but it sounds like they are improving them in a way that will not make every character but Batman, Robin, and Superman redundant, so that is good. The Justice League also looks like it is more central to this story than the last one, but, yeah, I wish that Aquaman or Hawkgirl were there instead of Robin. I am happy to see that LEGO is letting J'onn and Cyborg play nicely though. And 150+ characters? Yes, please... There is no way 90% of them can all be Batman related this time. It looks like this sequel is shaping up to be much better than LB2 and fixing all the problems I had with that. And it is available on the Xbox 360, so I won't need to get a new console!
  20. Martian Manhunter looks like his classic version, but with pants instead of shorts. I believe Green Lantern is also the same as that LED flashlight, and I agree with you about Cyborg. I hope this means what I think it means! Edit: I knew something was off about Green Lantern. It's the gloves, like Sam pointed out. That's weird...
  21. Actually... Maybe MB paid an additional fee for the blind bagged license and LEGO didn't pick it up, so Funko did instead? DC has a similar line as a tie in for Scribblenauts, too.
  22. Is he one of two main villains, or is he just making a cameo as a Bat-rogue staring at a screen? I know that LEGO magazine comics are not exactly fine literature, but would it really make sense for Scarface and Scarecrow to want Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, but not Batman? They are probably working for Lex Luthor the "benefactor" just like Penguin and Poison Ivy. Also, we'll probably have to agree to disagree here, but I do not think that Ventriloquist is relatively well known. I'd consider him high D- or low C-List, but hey, that's just me. I would have said the same about Man-Bat. This is pretty much what I meant, actually, but more technical and clear. I'm too wordy sometimes and don't quite get my point across.... Ooh, some Shazam sets would be cool. Black Adam. Metal Men could be neat too; it would be a nice change of pace.
  23. A "few" pages ago didn't an AIM scientist appear in a comic with MODOK and Red Skull? And a year before that, didn't Jimmy Olsen make a cameo in a Superman comic? I think that's all this is. And as for the people asking why they would go through all the trouble of designing a minifigure of Ventriloquist: They didn't. It's just the back of his head, not that it would be that much trouble to make the whole minifigure. If you look at the Spider-Man comic, it features plenty of civilian characters we haven't gotten, plus Peter, Ben, and Flash. At least two of those probably aren't going to appear soon, if at all. Edit: And the Green Lantern mention is just trolling at this point.
  24. I can't really think of any reason why they should. Most of the interesting things from any of the DC or Marvel movies worth wanting LEGO stuff for have been covered in some form already, except for the Al Ghuls and Asgard. A "comic" set with a couple of the Avengers, Sif, and Malekith next year would be nice....
