  1. Are these still NZ prices? They look like they could be pretty realistic US/UK prices too.
  2. There are a few reasons I can think of why Flash could be different in the Grodd set. TT doesn't always use the designs of upcoming minifigures for whatever reason, (for example, Scarecrow, Penguin, and Mr. Freeze in LB2,) probably because they don't get finalized designs early enough. With all of the other new designs in the game, it is more likely that a new Flash could be of a slightly odd variant (something like battle damaged, Arrowverse, Wally West, or who knows what else) so that TT would choose the regular one for the default. I also doubt that that is the case, so I expect Flash to be a repeat. I'm okay with that though, I can think of a few reasons for having multiple Flashes: There is (or was) more than one Flash, vignettes showing him moving at superspeed, his face would be good for a purist Firestorm, and the torso is suitable for Shazam. Yeah, my first impulse when something breaks is to eat it right off of the floor, probably because teeth are better for dealing with LEGO than hands. Sorry, that statement just put that image in my head... I second that the game helmet was terrible though.
  3. Oops, sorry. Euro prices seem to differ slightly between countries, but I think that at least Kopaka and Tahu would be at the price point. LOSS could cost more, and I'm starting to wonder if Onua will too, but it's hard to say....
  4. Oh, that's cool. I've been waiting for elves since Fantasy Era. I hope the sets are good of course, but 2015 is looking really expensive for me, and we haven't even seen many images yet.
  5. Looking at sets on S@H in NZD, I've adjusted the prices for the approximate USD prices. I may have made a mistake or two though, so feel free to double check.
  6. Are you using a currency converter? Because New Zealanders pay some of the worst markup for LEGO. For example, EVO Walker is $20 over there, and Crystal Beast is $25, so the Guardians/Defenders will probably be more like 10 USD/GBP, and Gali 15 USD/GBP.
  7. Hm, interesting. I wonder what the Ice Bears are.
  8. What currency are those prices?
  9. Could you tell what role s/he was playing in the set? I'm afraid that it might be one of Darkseid's minions. Parademons would be cool, but I would rather have Hawkman or Hawkgirl.
  10. That's a very solid line up, especially compared to this year. Thank you, LEGO and WB/DC, and thank you Hulk_Smash for sharing this with us. I'm really surprised that Hawkman is in one of these sets, but that is fantastic. We need more B- and C-listers, and he is a great start. That video game design looks really good, so that would be wonderful. I think we could do without another Robin (Mera would be amazing), but everything else sounds like a huge step up. So, since this seems to be about the same size as the last Marvel wave, I'm guessing that the price points will be similar (Manta at ~ 40 USD / 45 GBP, Grodd at ~ 50 USD / 45 GBP, and Darkseid at ~ 75 USD / 70 GBP). I hope that two big figs won't detract from the quality of the sets too much, but at least the minifigure roster is a step up. I hope that these sell well so we can get more like them in the future. It'll be expensive (especially with BIONICLE coming back), but I'll be happy to do my part.
  11. I just saw this mentioned and wanted to throw my two cents into the ring. I actually doubt that all of these sets were made at the last minute. I guess that LEGO could squeeze them out in time for a winter 2015 release, but that would be about six months sooner than usual, and a whole year more than they prefer to have, so getting a DC wave next summer might make more sense if that were the case. At least that's what I'm guessing based on what I remember hearing about set development, or maybe it was just a theory based on the 3D Star Wars releases being cancelled. Anyway, I believe it might be more likely that they were scheduled to be released this summer, but were pushed back when BvS was rescheduled. I think that explains the extra Marvel wave (or rather, the glaring lack of DC sets around the same time) and gels with what they did when The Hobbit was divided further.
  12. Yeah, I just checked Brickset and realized that. It looks lighter in the pictures. Edit: And it seems that Lewa would have shells in that orangish color, so I made a mistake there too. :P
  13. So if Pohatu and his defender have trans yellow bones, Gali, Kopaka, and their respective defenders have trans blue bones, and the Earth Defender has trans purple bones, then maybe Lewa and the wind defender have trans orange bones? I think transparent bright orange is the official term and that one or two of the Chima sets actually use them this year.
  14. With a pair of red eyes, that would look just about perfect to me. I wouldn't mind them trying to make him stand upright, giving him a waist pivot like Ultron suggested a while ago, or something else to make him seem a little less Hulk though.
  15. Their bodies are upright, but their heads are still slouched. Hm, Darkseid could break the mold and do something new, or they might model it off of this which might be the route to go. I'm not sure how an upright big fig would look; they might just go with brick-built in that case, and I hope that they don't... Edit: Darkseid from LB2 can be seen in video, but I don't think it is a great gauge of how he would look since the design is a bit unfinished. I have made a minifigure Darkseid before, and while it looked fine, I really think it lacked the presence that he should have. Yeah, that version and pretty much everything about the movie were awful. Most of us are talking about designs and not depictions though. (Though he still didn't look too good in War, but his redesign from the New 52 which it is based on isn't too bad imo.)
  16. They would probably go with the DCnU design over those, even if DC wouldn't make them it has a bit more color, but I guess that doesn't have much to do with the size of the fig. I think that a TMNT-ish midfig would be best, but I really dislike those disproportionate legs they have. They just look silly to me. To each their own. Edit: Looking at the New 52 action figures, I don't think that DC will want just a regular minifigure for Darkseid. I don't think he is quite that large in the comics, so he might not be that big compared to the others, but still...
  17. Because they had a lot leftover from Boromir.
  18. Fantastic sculpting!
  19. I meant the January wave with Spider-Man stuff, though I guess that the IM3 things did only come out a few months later.
  20. No, we actually don't. Neither DC or Marvel did in the beginning of 2013, and Marvel didn't have one in the GotG/X-Men wave. Again, there is a set number missing between the Tumbler and GL sets, so that could be a small set, but it could also be something else, or maybe it was skipped for some reason.
  21. Hm, I wonder where Wonder Woman's jet fits in. Maybe in the Darkseid or Grodd sets? No Brainiac, either... Anyway, that's a nice line-up and it's good to see that we will be getting some new villains, so I can't complain. Also, images of Grodd and Manta from LB3 came out yesterday. I wonder if they are the designs we will see? Edit: There is also a gap between the Tumbler and GL set, for 76024. I wonder if that is anything?
  22. It's not that I'm against any and all things New 52 if that's what you were thinking, I actually like a lot of the new designs, just not Harley's. :P Would the pigtails be any more unstable than Wyldstyle's? I imagine they would be about the same size and shape. And they don't need to make Joker new. They could just give him an exclusive accessory, or put him in a cheaper and/or more interesting set than the steamroller to make sure that it sells anyway. Kind of like they have been trying to do with Spidey, I suppose. :P
  23. I really like that Catwoman, but I don't think she is too likely. I can't really argue it either way though. Harley though, I just want to counteract all of the love it seems to be getting and throw it out there that I absolutely hate that design, even if I admittedly think TT or LEGO did a good job translating it. I think that one might be possible, though I imagine they would leave out the black hair ties (Wonder Woman also has bracelets in some of those covers which don't look very official to me, so some artistic liberties were probably taken with real figures). We haven't gone a year without Joker yet, so it wouldn't surprise me if he and Harley show up in another set in 2015 at all, and it could very possibly be nu Harley.
  24. I always liked that about Hahli's Toa sets. Even if the parts wouldn't be great for reuse, I also really liked the blended parts her Inika form had and would like to see a few shells like that. Anyway, I think that both Gali and the Water Defender have white in their color schemes, which I am happy to see (sea?) return. And as for the eye colors, Lewa's look green to me. I can't make out Pohatu or Gali's, but I would guess that at least one of them would have orange or reddish eyes, since none of the others seem to.
