    It helps in a few cases, I guess, but most sellers that are willing to provide clarification on shipping costs and fees on a quote, would have already done so in the splash page.

    One time, I asked for a quote, the guy took forever to reply, and the quote was canceled. When I sent him a message a few days later asking him if he was still interested in selling the items, he said he thought I canceled the quote, and that in the meantime the items had already been sold!!!!

    Can you elaborate on this? If the linear motion is alternating, how do you convert the alternating rotating motion to a one-directional rotation? You said part of it is a rack and pinion, right?

    I believe some things happen here as a result of a good relationship with TLG (Whitefang receiving boxes of CMFs to review, petitions through the ambassador program). I wouldn't blame EB for trying to keep that.

    There was an interesting discussion of this on Brickset. Apparently Lego has already considered these kinds of elements. Personally, I don't see them being dynamic enough to have a high enough demand, but let's wait and see what happens.
