  1. Feel the same way. Slow 2 years for this theme but I think at least for Marvel its cyclical and likely to rebound. For DC, to be honest I don’t even know anymore. Not that it matters but I “disagree” with the Lego group in treating DC like its so unpopular and hated that sets of anything besides Batman will sell. I disagree with how rarely they sprinkle new heroes or villains or detailed prints or new part usage in his supporting character and villain rosters (seriously the recent Batgirl, Nightwing, and 66 figures were atrocious compared to earlier versions of these characters). I hope there‘s at least one set that pops up out of no where that catches me off guard. On that note, also hope we get some more polybags for this theme. If they don’t want to invest in sets, give us an exciting polybag. This theme has been pretty good at that actually, with Martian Manhunter, Plasticman, and Jessica Cruz being amazing polybags for important leaguers. I personally hope for a classic Firestorm or Guy Gardner polybags. It would be especially neat during slow years like this. They probably removed it because people like us read too deep into it and they didn’t want to crush the remaining 4 fans of Lego DC.
  2. Sets are meh. Star ship build does not wow me. zurg is also nothing exciting and the figures aren’t too exciting for me yet either. I do anticipate getting both sets regardless, but they both lack anything that really catches my eye. Both are just eh.
  3. This thread will likely have no traction so I just want to reiterate a big brick you to whoever lied about us getting The Tower of Fate. Also I’m starting to think we read way too deep into Lego’s senseless decision to name drop Klarion in a book and it’s very possible he will not show up at all.
  4. I mean the mechs are comic book accurate aren’t they? They’re not my cup of tea but I think everyone is bringing up good points. I’m a young adult who started collecting at age 11 and I agree kid collectors can be strategic, i certainly was. I was more the type to save for big sets that had multiple desirable figures and good builds rather than splurge on cheap sets that have these figures, but as @living_off_lego mentions, based on whats available these mechs may be cheap ways to get desirable characters. So I don’t see the harm but I also do not see the appeal cause I’d rather buy the expensive sets that have all of them such as the Bugle, but these mechs are practical because not everyone can afford that. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I have soooo much dark age content to catch up on I would not mind at all for Lego to create undesirable mechs. Matter of fact, hold off on all comic sets for a few years. Give the MCU fans their bread and butter, gives me some time to catch up lol. I say they make more undesirable mechs!!
  5. Great idea! I loved the Series 19 Ranger and really want Lego to release more unlicensed colored Rangers, but an actual Licensed Power Rangers set would be just as if not more exciting! Would absolutely pick up several sets should they come with Dynamic figures and builds (which would be natural for a Power Rangers theme). That said Transformers sets would be cool to see as well. Unsure how to get them minifig compatible but if we could get Lego versions of those 2008 Transformers toys with both vehicles and small figures to place inside before they transform, that’d be so cool, also both Transformers and Power Rangers have Dino sub themes and would love to see that represented somehow for both. Very exciting licenses I didn’t think I’d see Lego pick up. Also occasionally miss the Spongebob theme is this crazy or does anyone else low key feel like that was a gem they slept on?
  6. I intend to display this series with the Sesame Street set. I have no interest in the Lore I simply think they flow together nicely and make sense in the same room. That said this is kind of like Minecraft in that I’m not particularly fond of this License. I was huge on TMNT, Star Wars and comic book heroes before collecting Lego DC, Star Wars, etc. but I have no interest in the muppets outside of this series. I simply think it’s an amazing series with highly detailed figures. I have never seen a muppets movie in my life. But these figs look great and Sesame Street needs more action! had the same thought about accessories. Animal comes with so many parts he is the first figure I feel may be worth more than $5 when it comes to it? Idk it just has so much going for it with the detailing accessories and quality. That said due to my unfamiliarity I’m not clammerimg for a Series 2 the way I was with say Looney Tunes
  7. You’re right, the more I look at the Malevolence the less impressive it looks. And I was thinking the same thing about his bike, build is not perfect, Mace is no where near as interesting as this airborne trooper, and a rerelease with Boga is exactly what I thought would perfect the set. So yeah, not excited about the price but better late than never. This tank must be based off the Clone Wars no? Mace has arm detailing like that in the show but not in any movie appearance I can think of. Maybe it’s one of those Legends sets? When do we reckon we’ll hear rumors of the summer fig selection? I wonder if we’ll get any new Jedi with the episode 2 sets. Super ecstatic for Taun We but would rather she came in a more exciting set like Jango’s ship because I have no interest in Obi’s star fighter especially after that beautiful hyper drive set released a few years back.
  8. Just called Barnes and Noble, confirmed they got it and I placed it on hold. Both the Malevolance and Wheel Bike were better sets I feel both annoyed and excited I’m getting his ship. I love Barnes and Noble, not the first time I got a retired set there. Fun fact I got the 2011 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship several years after it retired because somehow an extremely busy Barnes and Noble in my area had it in like 2015. Not sure I’m as excited to get this ship as I was to get Aurra Sing but hey I’ll finally have a grievous and a Utapau trooper, plus this is more practical and used more than say his wheel bike or the Malevolence no?
  9. I love my Stass Allie figure so much and I really hope we get Adi Gallia some day. Going to echo requests for Shaak Ti and say I would also love to get new molds for both Plo Kloon and Kit Fisto. And the Max Rebo band. I will never stop repeating how badly I want his entire band in Lego form. Even Lyn Me and all the special edition Episode 6 remastered characters who were shoved in during the 90’s. And that Thorian Dancer does not count, she doesn’t have Rystall Sants reddish hair and white skin, she had flesh skin and pink hair, so in my book we still are yet to receive a proper Rystall Sant.
  10. Newer pics make me like the tank much more. Figs are amazing and $40 is not that outlandish. Tank is definitely leaner and smaller than ideal but it’s affordable and the figure selection is amazing. Not 2022 related but as of recent I have been glossing over the General Grievous Starfighter. I never got the Malevolence or Bike sets he came in, and really wanted both. I fear having the same regret with this set that I should have gotten it when I had the chance? Is it overpriced? Yes but as I’ve learned with the 2013 wave, what feels expensive today can feel out of reach tomorrow, and the set is not going to get any cheaper (plus shipping prices of getting it off Bricklink). I think I may bite the bullet for that Airborne trooper. Hope they reproduce the Utapau battle pack with arm printing sometime again in the future. Yikes I actually think I’m going to buy Grievous’s overpriced Starfighter.
  11. Yup just built the Red Stone battle and I loved it. May not be into Minecraft but that was a cute set glad I got it while I could.
  12. Okay so I was never interested in this theme considering I never played Minecraft. Then in watching Lego reviews I noticed how interesting some skins could be in Lego form. I then perusing Lego shop found The Redstone Battle and the figures reminded me of minimates which instantly prompted a purchase. I came to find out this set retired late 2021 but managed to find a Barnes and Noble that had it, booked the purchase and just picked it up. I’m happy I managed to find this retired set in person, and admittedly the interest in these skins prompted an interest in the game. Surprised to see how little motion this thread has, and that minecraft is not pinned? Maybe this thread would have more traction if it got pinned? just a thought.
  13. I don’t know if this will be a themed series completely but I can definitely see a Highwayman/Mr Gold mystery figure situation going on. Love @Agent Kallus’s idea of Bionicle figure in the classic mix. The Invasion from Below line is my absolute favorite and I always loved the wave when they made Bionicle figures so this idea excites the hell out of me.
  14. The gunship rumor being fake kind of hurt. I cannot stress how badly I regret not getting the 2013 wave entirely. Sure I was underage and could not afford whatever my parents couldn’t afford at the time but wow I wish I had the expneses to cover that entire wave when it released. I remember thinking a $90 AT-TE and $130 Gunship were impossible to afford at the time, but considering both are like $400 minimum sealed now? I wish I somehow got it done back then. Coleman Trevor, Ep. 2 Padme/Anakin, the 2013 Mace Windu, just the builds themselves wow those will go down as some of my biggest Lego regrets. That said, I get some sets are iconic and popular but I do think a greater level of balance could be achieved with whats revisited in this theme. So many land speeders but we haven’t got the ep2 bounty hunter chase scene since the literal birth of this theme? Mon Mothma hasn’t been released since 2010? We still only have one mould for Kit Fisto and Plo Kloon? Lego Star Wars is interesting in that I got into it at a time where so many sets and concepts were being revisited. It was misleading. I didn’t buy the Ghost or any Rebels sets because I figured it’d be on the air long enough to get a few waves, now I’m crying over the fact I need to spend half a grand to get the Ghost sealed. Back in 2014, the Gungan Sub, Gunship, Clone Wars sets and Ep 1/2 waves were mostly revisiting older concepts or already released films. This made me feel like, just like if I somehow was an adult how missed on 2002-2005 versions of the Clone Turno Tank, AT-Te etc, I could get the newer versions released at the time, that if I missed anything in Lego Star Wars, eventually I could get it again. This is just not true it seems. Will Lego ever release a Rebels set again? I sure hope so, the Ghost is both too expensive and also not a perfect set? And I’d love if Lego revisited Rebels some day with a better interior to the Ghost, along with maybe a bigger figure selection? Now more than ever I’m starting to get Lego sets when they release (if its worth it) because this reliability that everything will be reproduced or revisited is not practical anymore. Do I bite the bullet and pay several grand for sealed versions of the 2013/2014 waves, or do I petition lego to remake them? Hmm
  15. I get that its not been confirmed but I’m not too optimistic about getting a lot. Hopefully once this new Batman cartoon launches we start seeing more sets but as mentioned before we’ve had a handful of animated series on the air since the start of this theme and Lego has never capitalized on that. Not very optimistic but considering this is a year I have so many expenses outside of Lego to focus on not really complaining. Plus I have so much from my dark ages to catch up on I’m not too mad at another slow year because sealed versions of some of the many sets I missed out on in my dark ages are 1. Extremely expensive and 2. Not infinite (they will run out someday and I need to hustle to get sealed copies of these retired sets while I still can) so kind of blessed I don’t need to focus on any new releases that feel tempting.. But while my wallet is resting I certainly hope eventually this theme picks up steam. I do think a lot of ground has been covered, but I also think a lot needs to be revisited and a lot more needs to be covered. We shouldn’t just have one variant of Hawkgirl, Black Canary, or Superboy. Just examples but they among several others have costumes from different eras I’d like to see represented eventually. While I would say a lot of ground has been covered with this theme, with DC more than Marvel it feels like once a character is released, you need to rush to get it because its very unlikely they’ll be revisited. This is made even more unfortunate when I consider how many characters weren’t quite done justice their first go around (badum tiss) Examples include Hawkgirl, who neither got accurate helmet mold, or her accurate underwear/shorts color. Her briefs should have been red and Hawkmans mold on her looked clunky. Or Raven, who only appeared in a dimensions pack and in a TTG variant, not quite comic based. Both characters imo should be revisited . speaking of figures I don’t think they got right, and I’m surprised no ones ever really brought this up, but Flash and Batman still need to get their legs done right. Not only do these characters have boots but they should have indentations. Flash’s boots curve in a V shape. Not always, but I would like to see that v line at the boot sometime with Lego (think wonder twins boot printing, but in yellow/red). Additionally Batman’s boots should have the bat cowl at the very head of the boot. you get the gist, there’s more to see for this theme but not complaining about another slow year cause I got dark age sets and real world expenses at my throat currently so I can be patient. But 10 years in and no Doctor Fate, Vixen, or Teen Titans villain besides Deathstroke? :/
  16. Long time no comment. First off I just want to start by saying, in hindsight, of course the second CMF wave rumor was fake. Lego has never followed up on a second series so soon and cmf series for this year leaked at the start of the year and there was no mention of Marvel series 2 until this fake leak popped out of nowhere. Not into MCU sets with rare exception but will throw in my 2 cents anyways - Goats look blocky but not terrible, the boat is also a bit stiff nothing too special, but wow Lady Thor looks great. She looks almost identical to what a comic Lady Thor would look like in lego, the headpiece itself would be interchangeable they’d have to pull up a particular comic and design her figure frame by frame to match that to make anything more comic accurate. Otherwise I can see them doing what they did with the FFH Nick Fury and use this fig in both MCU and comic sets bc its interchangeable. Lady Thor looks soooooo good holy crap that is a nice figure. Finally saw NWH, best Spiderman movie ever. I still don’t get the Vulture and Mysterio sets this year? Also crazy we got a Sanctum set with MJ and Wong but no cells? Sorry don’t know how to use spoiler tags. Anyways I’m excited to see what this $500 set will be and how the Sanctum will look. Tis all. (P.S yes I know we are super unlikely to get a comic Lady Thor I’m just saying if we did it would be practically interchangeable)
  17. Seems so early in the year to already be hearing about an Advent Calender. series 2 releasing so soon is also a strange bit of news to me. Wonder when we’ll get a list for that. This year is really boring if you’re not an MCU fan.
  18. General thoughts on this wave 71764 - I agree that the build is very thin and straightforward. I love the slide and foliage is nice if a little barren, only getting to complete the larger temple. That buildable Snake looks terrible 71767 I love this. Lovely variant of Pixel she’s clearly the standout figure of the set, these variants of the Ninja is probably one of my least desired in recent years, even the underwater Ninja which felt too bound to a certain aesthetic (deep sea of course) still had more appeal than these figures. But the build is lovely and on par with Ninjago waves of the past imo great set 71765 - Love the Power Rangers influence but this build would have had more of an impact if it went to another theme imo I don’t intend on using this Megazord type build for the Ninja. Rather will assign this build to other designs. Now I just hope that CMF Power Ranger from Series 20 gets made in other colors in future CMF series so I can give this build to those non licensed rangers. only intend to get these 3 sets Off topic but I built the Skull Sorcerors Dungeon and I love it! I know I want to order the Rhino but an on the fence about the Dragon. Do I really want that set?
  19. Not 2022 related but I recently got the Dimensions Teen Titans pack with Raven and Beast Boy, and Joker-land should be making its way to me in the next few days.. I also intend to buy the Super-boy Target Cube for whatever expensive price its at now just to get him sealed, within the next month. I may have stated before that I thought Joker-land was an ugly build with a hideous facade with a poor choice of side builds (this is one of my least favorite Bat-mobile’s I’ll say that. But a huge reason I got this is because I really enjoy most of the figures in this set and wanted a sealed copy of all of them. Starfire, Beast Boy, Harley, Batman, Robin, all come in very desirable variants. I would love to post a review of this might sign up for that review academy course and review this set and keep it sealed till I’m ready because I really think I have a lot to say about this set. Also not opening the dimensions pack until I build Joker-land. So since I already had the 2018 Scarecrow/Beetle set, the CMF Bumblebee and a Cyborg figure, I’m only missing Super-boy , Apache Chief, and Death-stroke as my Titans figures. Unsure if I want that Bat-boat set but both Robin and Death-stroke are tempting. Thought I should say I think both he and Dead shot should be given a thin armored mask mould with a slimmer chin than the Iron Man mould (and maybe it shouldn’t even cover the back of the head just the front) because this flat headed silhouette for those characters is underwhelming imo.
  20. Initially did not believe the $500 rumor. Still sort of skeptical to say the least. I think the most obvious choice is an Avengers Mansion or Tower (most likely the latter) since I don’t see nor hope they’d make a $500 Hulkbuster or Gauntlet. While I think its most likely going to the Avengers or Spidey over anything, I can’t help but fantasize about this being an X-Mansion. I hope this does well no matter what it is so our prospects of getting a highly detailed X-Mansion at a similar price point becomes a viable demand when the X-Men are back on screen in the MCU and reach a popularity level to warrant such a set. Even though this is likely Avengers or Spidey related I’m just expressing that I would want an X-Mansion to include a training room, an underground docking station for the Jet, (these can be the same level if not in close proximity), at least a handful of bedrooms even if a few are bunks to include space for multiple mutants, several classrooms and at least one bathroom should the set actually end up getting made. Just had to get that out lol
  21. New pics didn’t change much but I think the Snow Warrior looks better the more we see him. Unsure if I will end up getting him. anyone notice how they paired the figures in the promotional images? Wheelchair racer and Figure Skater side by side those are our two sports figures. Chili suit girl next to Raccoon suit woman thats our two costume figures. next row birdwatcher and foul girl thats our two city figures. Bard and Snow huntsman thats our two Castle figures. Moon warrior and Forest Boy there’s our two Fantasy figures. Finally Snalien next to the Robot and we have our two space figures. They paired the figures by their subgenre in the image that contained them all and I thought that was very neat. This Snalien was such a creative use of parts I’m so excited for him.
  22. So not 2022 related but I opened the Falcon Black Widow 2020 pack! I absolutely love the Falcon fig and army building AIM agents was actually very fun. Only qualm is his wings are uglier in person, really need to modify them. Happy to hear others want her too, hope the Fox tail from Chima is still in production or they can replicate it as I thought it was perfect for her.
  23. Aaand I’m upset now. Why? Grey roofs were more accurate the light green accenting was nice but full on green roofs are inaccurate and only charming if you view them through a lens of giving homage to the original theme. my mistake, its good you see how well done the figures were. I have mixed feelings on 2021 but if the building style is set to continue I think this year will age poorly in my head as I find it a nuisance that I’n going to want to modify all the roofs it feels like a chore of a project to modify all those sets because I want them to mirror the older style. It’s just not flattering.
  24. It’s a Licensed theme and this is all speculation so there’s no guarantee it will come back. I personally think this would be a great temporary bandage as was the release of the 3 in 1 Creator Castle, Ideas Blacksmith Shop, and several CMF figures of late (Series 22 Bard, Series 21 Centaur, Series 19 Viking, Series 18 Ghost Knight etc). I do think I would love for LoTr To come back but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t enjoy the reprise of Fantasy castle with Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls, Giants, Centaurs, Forestmen, Elves, Wizards, Goblins, Ogre’s etc in unlicensed variants. I think Lego’s unlicensed Fantasy Castle theme with the building style of modern creator/monkey kids/Ninjago sets with fairies, ogres, elves, and orcs etc printed at the quality of Vidiyo and CMF figures would sell very well and would be an incredible delight to collect. Completely agree. Older designs will forever be exclusive and there’s a high likelihood that not all figures released the first run around will be included in the remake. Which is still hypothetical and uncertain how long it would last if it did come back, as it could be argued the original theme did not have a very long run all things considered (2014-2017 correct?). Also if Harry Potter is anything to go by some of the newer designs will be updates while others will actually be steps down in terms of attention to detail and accuracy. Either way this original release was amazing for me and I’d welcome a remake with open arms. I regret not buying the Witch King battle when I had the chance. It was so affordable upon release lol. Also hope Eowyn gets made in a remake as I love the “I am no man” scene and would love to recreate it.
  25. I agree. I’m only not buying this theme because I have too many themes under my collection and don’t feel I need this. That said I would not pass on a minifigure scale set for this theme. I will say I do understand the reason they went with this building system and I think it looks great and all the side characters and builds are done in a way that makes sense and allows for them to encompass all their details without producing hyper specific molds for these designs. While I do enjoy this theme, it’s builds, and understand its structure, I just don’t have the space or money for this atm. I think this theme is lovely however, and if Lego ever did produce minifigures of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser etc, Imd definitely get that set. I think Bowsers castle is the most likely candidate for a large $100 set to warrant these figs. Never say never but I don’t know how likely it is that Lego will ever produce this. But they seem to know their demand and demand for minifig Mario figures is I think high enough to warrant the production of said set but time will tell.
