LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
cosmic replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I saw somewhere that there was a rumored Jabba’s Palace D2C/UCS set for 2023 but now I cannot find that post anywhere! The post name dropped Lyn Me as a fig along with most if not all of Max Rebo’s band which I would love to be true. Thing is I cannot find this post anymore and cannot remember where I heard this rumor. Has anyone else heard of this rumor or am I going crazy? Even if its false has anyone else heard of this? For the $100 Tie Interceptor/Fang Fighter set, I’d like for it to be 60/40 with the 2 builds and not 50/50, as I feel the Tie Interceptor should be a bit bigger than the Mandalorian Fang Fighter. Excited to see how that one turns out. -
Minifigures Series 24 - The Guessing Game is Back!

I am so annoyed that I posted a near complete list and then accidentally closed this browser. So here we go again. 1. An orc. You’ve seen it we’ve all seen him this one leaked. 2. Taco suit guy: we’ve been getting at least 2 costumes figures for how many series now? And this one just feels long overdue. 3. Leopard suit girl: could reuse a handful of moulds released at this point. 4. Basketball Player: again long overdue. Plus with the Avatar line bringing back the long legs this feels like perfect timing. 5. Pink Ranger: this is more of a wish than speculation, but I absolutely adored the series 20 Red Ranger and I need for them to release more of this power ranger trope. The ability to reuse an existing mould makes it more probable as well. 6. Zeus: we’ve gotten so many Greek Mythology characters, he’s one of the more well known and “Lightning God” is how i expect them to market him given the use of the term “Battle Goddess” for the Series 12 Athena figure. 7. Amazonian: basically the series 10 Warrior Woman but with a helmet and a more outspoken correlation to Greek Mythology whereas that fig was more implied. 8. Blacktron trooper: we’ve had a handful of Blacktron figs in the cmf line, the mercenary from Series 19 and the Series 11 Evil Mech come to mind, but an army buildable goon just feels so… obvious. 9. Circus Juggler: been a while since we got a circus fig, can use the maracas piece for juggling and avoid making a new mold. 10. Fairy: again kind of a wish but with the new butterfly wing piece, the Vidiyo fairy wing piece and the old wing piece all in circulation, it’s about time we got another cmf fairy. Not mad at a gender swap but if they decide to include a big tooth and name drop the tooth fairy I would not be mad. 11. Marching band guy: marching drum mould. Is this a request or a guess… 12. Groom: because how do we only have a bride and no groom! Talk about a long time coming. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion

Obsessed with this new Orc. I usually don’t army build cmf figures but I cannot excuse simply buying one of these. Now if I could only find the witch hat leak, I suspect it may have been removed from wherever it leaked because that one sure does elude me. Given how many girl characters lego is now putting in sets across themes (half the lion knight’s in the anniversary castle were women), their push to market themes like Friends to both boys and girls, and their push to market “girly” products to boys and girls in TLM2 line, it feels kind of weird for them to be stuck up on gender roles for the color of their blind bags. I think a Disney series 3 would be a great choice to do a “feminine” color with. If kids have any hesitation about the color, a super popular Disney character within the bag is very likely to balance out their hesitation IMO. -

I suppose for Australian conversions the price decrease was appreciated, but you guys tend to get inflated prices regardless. I think design wise the 2012 Tie Fighter remains superior but taking the conversion rate for both into account I can definitely see how Australians would appreciate the cheaper models. But as an American the price decrease was a lot more subtle and not worthy of its praise from my perspective. But again, thats perspective, across the seas the price decrease seems to have been more significant and I’m happy to hear it worked for somebody. -

So not 2023 related but I guess I never commented on it so forgive me moderators if this feels off topic. I recently rebuilt my 2012 X-Wing and Tie Fighter sets that were disassembled in storage. I have to say that these remain IMO the best versions of their respective builds. I was honestly shocked to see the overwhelmingly positive reception the $40 X-Wing and Tie Fighter from 2021 received. I absolutely hated the way the grey stripes were done on the new Tie fighter and felt the color scheme for the X Wing was rather dull. I reason that if you have $40 you probably have $60 to spare and downsizing both builds plus the extra detailing for the engine on the 2012 X-Wing was far more visually appealing. Add to that the ugly tip of the new X wing and I feel like its not worth it. People spoke of the “cheaper” models as if it was some huge draw but honestly? It’s a $20 difference that sacrificed the aesthetic of both builds IMO. tl;dr felt the new Episode 4 ships pale in comparison to the 2012 models and am confused by people worshipping how much more affordable they were when it was a simple $20 decrease. thanks for clarifying! I am simultaneously excited and bummed that they are choosing not to extend the shelf life of this current 501st pack. I only have 3!! If indeed they are revisiting old Clone Wars content, I hope we get some new Jedi. Would be a great opportunity to reintroduce Shaak Ti, and similarly I hated the blue ship Asajj Ventress came in a few years ago, and would love to see the same figure introduced in a more desirable set. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Thanks for correcting me. Honestly the biggest anticipation regarding said set is confirming whether or not we’ll actually get a villain. I still don’t like the thought of a $35 set with just one figure. Especially if said figure ends up being a repeat. But the fact that all the mechs, the Morbius and Ghost Rider sets are set to be comic based is wonderful. Feels like 2022 was so MCU focused and not in a good way (looking at you $550 Hulkbuster). I mean I guess we got Spidey and Friends sets but thats cartoon and not comic based (but who’s counting?). -

So I’m confused, are we getting another 501st trooper pack next year, or is the rumor that the existing battle pack will not be discontinued and instead be given the anniversary logo? I would love for that set not to retire I only got 3 and likely won’t be able to buy more given all the expensive retiring sets I need to catch up on this year. also did anyone see that rumor for the D2C Jabba’s Palace? I’m freaking out at the rumor that Lyn Me will be included! If Max Rebo’s band is indeed set to appear as rumored that would be incredible. I saw a rumor page that has an extremely long figure list on it and I think it’d be nice if that came true. -

Agreed. If they didn’t celebrate the 10 year anniversary celebrating the 11th sounds kind of ridiculous and unlikely. When did we see the 2022 mechs leak? I’m hoping we see the new mechs sometime soon. I actually ended up regretting not getting the Captain America mech when it released. Currently looking forward to the possible comic based Rocket and finding out whether Ghost Rider is a better face print for Ronnie, or a blue flamed variant. Also excited to see what movie the Quinjet is based on. -

What I meant by that is, if the girly colors are seen as a possible detractor for consumers, that would be off set by how popular the characters are in a popular licensed theme like Disney. Taking such a risk with say a costumed series is likely to feed into that distaste with consumers whereas the color of a bag may be an after thought if the content is a figure from a highly lucrative franchise. I think Lego has tried marketing Friends sets to both boys and girls and with themes like TLM2 have made a huge push to include feminine content in sets traditionally marketed towards boys, so hopefully that forward thinking mentality (not trying to cause controversy but we even got a pride set) may contribute to our eventual purple bagged series. Besides purple and pink I think a beige series would be nice. Have we gotten one yet? -

They revisit Clone Wars every few years so who’s to say we’ll never revisit Rebels again? I mean didn’t we get a legacy star fighter inspired by the original 2002 2D Clone Wars cartoon a few years back? If ever we do get sets revisiting Rebels I hope Sabine gets a proper pink print. TT games has a great visual direction for adapting suits and costumes really well for their Lego games. I think the biggest pain of every DC game release was seeing all the cool figures we would never get. As for Sabine showing up in the Ahsola show I appreciate you clarifying that. Now its just to see if they give her a dialed down live action look or an actual vibrant costume. -

Where can I find said leak? I haven’t been able to find it on the lego leaks hashtag. Lol. I mean there’s various shades of pinks and purples that can be done as well. I’m surprised a burgundy or even a muted purple has not been used. I think a Disney series would be a great opportunity to use said color because the license is so popular I think it off sets any markability risks posed by the lighter color. -

Not able to find the light blue witch hat leak anywhere. That said if its the same mould as always that color combo doesn’t sound that appealing. I’m betting ogre but either way it looks pretty cool. Love the new mould to set it apart from other figs of the same nature released in the past. Its also got an army build-ability to it. I think its so lame they avoid pink and purple bags for the male audience. Are little kids that immature they wouldn’t buy purple ploy bags? If anything a pastel green color would be neat to get. Maybe a cosmic design if they want to go with something patterned. But I think its unfortunate we may never get purple or pink polybags. -

I missed out on the last Tie Interceptor, so to get both that and a new Mandolorian ship in the form of the fang fighter in one set is so exciting. I’m excited to see what figures are included given the builds are likely good enough for me to pick this up. Not to jump the gun however, Lego could always come out with underwhelming builds. Trying to be optimistic. Seeing the new Sabine for the DLC pack I really hope she pops up in a set for whatever Disney plus show she ends up being a part of. I have always loved Sabine Wrens character and costume and don’t feel any figure has quite done her justice yet. She needed more arm printing, and brighter pink colors. Can you believe her pink helmet only appeared once in Lego? I really hope we get another pink helmeted Sabine in a set down the line to lower the price of said pink helmet on the aftermarket. But really to just give us a figure with the quality of print we deserve. -
2022 Friends Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion

If by reboot we just mean a new rotating cast of characters I guess that is exciting but the theme constantly has new friends and sidekicks so if anything it would just be a change of focus. Soft reboot is a good way to put it. International school sounds exciting. The recent Emma’s art school was spectacular imo so really stocked to see how this turns out. Not a huge fan of this far the 2012 Horse Stables remains the best Friends set of that sub theme.- 136 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

The more I think about it the more excited I am for this Rocket mech. Pretty much each mech has gotten a new print I think so I don’t see them using an MCU print. I believe these mechs are loosely based on the mech strike comics. A lot of the designs have been mechs in those comics such as Black Panther, Hulk, Thanos, Iron, Man, Captain America, Thor, and Spiderman. Interestingly, Captain Marvel seems to be the only major player from said comics not yet adapted in mech form. Thors mech seems to clearly take inspiration from said comic as the winged helmet was used on his comic mech design as well. Black Panthers mech resembles the large claws used in the comics. That said Rocket does not appear in those comics to my knowledge but from what we’ve gotten so far its safe to say his set will be loosey comic based. I’m just so excited to get comic based Guardians content. His MCU orange suit has trickled over to the comics so for all intents we do already have a rocket figure that works for a comic setting but to have an official one is really exciting for me. I personally hope for a blue and red suit with brown fur, but a green suit Rocket would be awesome as well. Can’t wait to see this figure. -
I lose hope in this theme more and more as time passes. No Teen Titans sets but TTG and Titans have been airing for the past few years and I would have otherwise thought they were popular enough. No Black Adam sets and no comic book tie ins either. At least in 2016 we got Suicide Squad figures in the Deadpool/Harley trike and Killer Croc set respectively. It makes you wonder when we only get a single juniors set in the year. Will we ever get a regular wave with more than 1 set again? I mean seriously what will it take? Year after year Lego fans clamor online about how we want more content its kind of hard to believe a theme like Avatar has more sway than this. Its disheartening. I hope we just get back on track eventually. With the discovery merger maybe Some new higher up will demand the merchandising be stronger for the brand and that cam trickle over to Lego… just a hopeful aspiration lol

Good catch I take that back, but.. its the closest we got in official Lego form. Was that a confirmed rumor that Shrek was eventually going to pop up in a dimensions pack? I never heard of that but I guess I was out of the loop during that time. With all due respect the example he used was of Galactus who is a huge celestial and not a mech. Speaking of which.. I would totally buy this! I mean I am the guy who constantly raves about comic content, prefers comic designs, and mostly skips MCU content. So naturally a comic based Galactus would be appealing. Part of me would hope they don’t include the Fantasticar as I think it would be neat to have a mainline release of a F4 comic set that isn’t as expensive and for that reason I think it should be sold separate. I absolutely adore the Silver Surfer and we’d surely get the herald to the invasion if said set would be produced and that is just the most exciting thought ever. Its funny, a giant Galactus was one of a few builds I felt was truly deserving of this price point, along with a Stark Tower or X Mansion. -

So a few years late on this but how did I never notice how perfect the ears on the skrull from 76127 are for a Shrek figure? A custom Shrek would look great with those Skrull ears. I wonder if they were able to use the Genie ear piece because the mother company (Disney) owns the rights to both Marvel and the Disney cmf series? Or maybe licenses for specialized mould are more flexible than I originally thought? -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

As someone who did not buy the Infinity War sets I gotta say, I am so intrigued by 76209 including the complete Gauntlet. I would otherwise have to buy each stone off bricklink. But considering the buildable Thor’s hammer has the complete infinity gauntlet with all the Infinity stones, might as well pick that up instead. The buildable model is a decent display piece as well. I gotta say I hate the derpy smile on Thor’s face and wish he had a more serious expression but I don’t really care for MCU designs regardless so that’s neither here nor there. that said I really hope we get a dual molded helmet/hair piece for comic Thor someday. I also hope we get Leg printing on Mysterio lol I hate that his crossed pattern doesn’t extend to his legs and we get no sight of his yellow boots. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
cosmic replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The more I look at it, the more awkward it looks. It seems like the top half of the legs is too short and the lower half in general seems to be dwarfed by the upper body. The golden plaque covering the arm like armor looks clunky and the overall proportions leave a lot to be desired. Especially at this price point. I’m betting they retire this set after just 1 year of release due to low sales. If that. Lol. If anything this could be the nail in the coffin that drives home the fact that we’re tired of over scaled Hulkbusters, and they choose to focus on other concepts for d2C’s moving forward. Could be a win in that regard. -
Wow had no idea Ninjago as we know it is coming to an end, guess all good things must come to an end. Interested to see if the new series will be a continuation with some or all of the 6 main Ninja, or set in a different timeline/universe and essentially a new identity altogether. Not 2022 related but I just got Zane’s mino creature in the mail. I love having a creature for each ninja and by end of year I’ll have Zane’s Rhino, Nia and Kais Fire/water dragons, and possibly Lloyds Green dragon from TLNM. That said, I don’t know what creature’s I’ll use for Cole or Jai. I hope the Legacy waves provide some modern looking designs for creatures for them to work with. That said I swore this rhino belonged to Cole the entire time just based off his color scheme, and this is me admitting I don’t keep up with the show.

I knew I wouldn’t be into the build but I’m surprised by how bad it turned out. Just huge and overscaled for no reason. I have never been a fan of oversized display models and I still think this price point would be better off providing a Stark Tower. My hope is Lego listens to feedback and chooses Avengers Tower for the next superhero D2C at this price point. I don’t see Lego Marvel dying anytime soon so we’ll likely have other D2C’s at this price point in the coming years. The Daily Bugle has a great scale imo and was around $200 cheaper than the Hulkbuster. With a price hike like that they may be able to give us a Tower with a landing pad wide enough and sturdy enough to hold a Quinjet. Hopefully they don’t add a Quinjet and lower the piece count of the tower but thats just me getting carried away. I wonder how a building made from technic parts would hold up. At this point I’m just excited to see if they reuse an MCU design for rocket for the mech, or provide a new design. Even if his comic suit was made to mirror the MCU design I’d still love to see Lego’s take at a comic Rocket Raccoon figure. I guess confirming whether we get blue flamed Ghost Rider or any other figures in that GR set is also something to look forward to. I’ll shut up now but the fact that both sets are exponentially cheaper and are likely set to produce more desirable figures than the D2C’s… a win for cheap consumers I suppose … (but a bad business model). -
Not to be that guy but Aldar Beedo (7159) has also not been remade, and he first came with a yellow head on a brick built body way back when. I personally would love for him to be remade as well because who doesn’t love unique moulds for obscure Star Wars characters? I agree with the material being a needed upgrade for Kit, but I also feel the print they used for him is also in need of an update. Even in 2012 his simple smile looked outdated next to the other Jedi in Palpatine’s arrest. I feel he should have more detailing on the eyes to make up for his dry look. And totally agree with you on Plo Koon, its about the width of the mold. Its very thin and makes his head look squished. I really miss the Planet series, they worked as great Christmas ornaments but also potential set pieces for filming Lego Star Wars content. I guess the biggest draw to both that and the micro fighters was the cheap availability of certain figures. To this day I wonder why Mon Mothma was not included with a planet.

A $35 set with only one figure seems like such a loss. Better be a solid figure and/or build to justify that. I love my 2016 Ghost Rider set I actually think it’s one of the best $30 Lego Marvels sets ever released next to the Deadpool Chopper. It’s a definite pass if the fig is 1:1 to the Hobgoblin set fig. I had to Google Danny Ketch but he looks incredible! Guess I’m not too familiar with Ghost Rider lore, I love the design of his bike it’s quite distinct and I guess his design could be made of dual molded grey/black legs and a shirt with chains crossing on it. He also has a blue flamed design I found which would be epic in Lego form. That said 1 fig for the entire set is still a disappointment I mean not even a villain? Just feels off. Especially at the price point -
This is so exciting! It’s about time this makes so much sense for Disney to have sets devoted to classic films. Given how expansive their character roster is , if played smart they could give great sets with solid figures and still leave some left over room for various cmf series to come. It would take a bit of pre-planning for the first few years of the theme, but it would pay off tremendously in the end. given its not categorized with Princess sets, there is certainly the hope that we may get figures. I am praying we get a Pinocchio set and feel confident we may. Lady and the Tramp would make sense for the $20 price point if they both come with new moulds. Lastly, am I the only one who does not enjoy the current Pluto mould? I can’t put my finger on it but something about that mould is off putting and awkward to me.
