  1. Hopefully one of those sets is some Hawkeye tie-in. And hopefully that 18+ set is a buildable Spider-Man mask. I’ve been wanting one of those for a while.
  2. Also, arguably Nya’s return makes more sense than Zane’s. Nya didn’t even truly “die”, she just become one with the ocean. I’m sure the showrunners can come up with a logical way to bring her back, while keeping some lasting consequences, as they did with Zane returning and Cole becoming human again (though I do think that could have been done better.)
  3. I’m of that all-too-uncommon breed of fan who enjoys each era (OT, PT and ST) and am content with enjoying them for what they are. Digging down into the nitty gritty and classifying which movie/show fits into which era and which era is getting the most representation is all superfluous to me personally (not to discredit anyone who’s interested in such things) because it’s all Star Wars at the end of the day. There’s sets I want Lego to make from each movie and show.
  4. I suppose you’re right, though this show seems like it’s aired even more so for a Duplo market. (Could be wrong about that though.) At the very least, we’ll get new minifig designs rather than more retreads. I guess this is a spiritual successor to those Mighty Micros sets from a few years back. I just think it’s funny that people have been discussing hypothetical Infinity Saga and No Way Home sets, and then this is the first piece of Marvel 2022 news we hear.
  5. Bruh. Well, that’s going to be super disappointing if that Juniors Spidey show is what the rumored set list of four 4+ sets is based on. EDIT: Spoke too soon. :/ Oh well, winter wave stuff usually doesn’t excite me nearly as much as the summer/fall stuff anyway.
  6. Technically, the Kai and Skylor stuff could be the summer season as that would still fit in with Tommy Anderson’s tweet to Vincent Tong about Kai “experiencing great love in the next year” or something along those lines. I think the set list as a whole is very interesting. Not good, not bad, just interesting. The EVO stuff all sounds super lame to me to be honest, especially since a lot of those sets sound very similar to ones that have come out within the last few years, especially the Fire Dragon. Another Lloyd Dragon also has no interest to me since I already the Green NRG Dragon, Green Ninja Mech Dragon, Legacy Golden Dragon and the Jungle Dragon (which was shown to be thought of as a Lloyd dragon on the box.) The other larger sets are where it gets interesting. The big combo mech sounds very interesting to me. I’ve been wanting a set like that ever since the days of speculating about The Lego Ninjago Movie. It seems like it could be pulled off well but we’ll just have to wait and see. The stuff related to the modular temple also sounds pretty interesting to me. It kinda reminds me of what Lego is doing with their new Hogwarts system. Hopefully the dojo temple is based off the one from the official Lego website. I’m not sure what this wave means for Legacy or Season 15 but hopefully answers present themselves soon.
  7. I’m just speaking from my experience, they’ve almost always been friendly. Just about every trip I’ve made to the Lego Store this year alone has been satisfying because the employees strike up conversations with me or vice versa. Your milage will vary of course.
  8. I’m actually feeling somewhat optimistic about the future of Clone Wars sets. The two sets they came out with last summer were really popular at the start and both of the sets they came out with this summer seem to be doing really well (more so the Mandalorian Fighter but still.) There’s an entire wellspring of set potential in that show/era and I think Lego recognizes that by now. I think hoping for an entire wave full of Clone Wars sets is pretty unrealistic nowadays but I could see them continue doing a few desirable Clone Wars sets each year. The only thing potentially getting in the way of this is the several other shows we have coming out on Disney+ in the next few years. It depends if Lego follows the same approach as Mando and Bad Batch where they only do one set at first.
  9. Sounds like we might be getting Into The Spider-Verse sets in the same vein as these Infinity Saga sets? Or, more likely, she’s being included in some generic Spidey set in the winter wave. Either way, she should be a cool figure. I’m looking forward to seeing how they do the tentacles. I already got my full set of Marvel CMFs but just out of curiosity, and for thrill of the hunt since I do want duplicates of some figures, I’ve been looking for them at various different stores. I’ve been to three Targets, three Lego Stores and a Legoland Discovery Center, all across two different states, since they came out and have not found a single one in the wild. Craziness.
  10. I say yes. To me, Lego seems like a far more ethical company than most others of their size. They’ve donated millions of dollars in the last year alone to many different causes. They seem to care about the environment and are moving towards recyclable plastics and bags for their products. Their staff at their stores and on social media are almost always super friendly. I think all of that is admirable. And, I mean, liking many of the products they put out obviously makes them favorable in my eyes. I think they do a good job of blending innovation and catering to fan wishes and nostalgia. Really, my only problem with the company is that I find their theme parks to be disappointingly cheap, cheesy and over kid-oriented compared to Disney for example. That would be more of a problem with Merlin Entertainment though and I’m not really sure if there’s an easy fix for that.
  11. Went to two different Lego Stores for my birthday yesterday. I bought the new Benatar, Water Dragon and Birthday Clown Brickhead at the first one. And then I got the Mando Forge, Bro Thor’s House, 60’s Batmobile and 4+ Mickey Mouse Airplane at the other store. A pretty successful day I’d say!
  12. If it’s different enough from the Rogue One model, which it sounds like it is, then I might pick it up.
  13. I don’t think there’s been any indication one way or the other how it’s performed. It definitely wasn’t sold out and hard to find as the original one was, though that may be because Lego learned to produce a higher quantity this time or simply just because it’s a larger, more expensive set, it’s less likely to sell out so quickly. Part of me wants to say that they’ll somehow keep this little theme going, possibly with vignettes like you mentioned since there is little more they could do as an actual set. In Lego’s new Manhattan store, they have Friends references as part of the store’s decor (since the show takes place in New York). If Lego was expecting to be done with this license in a year or two anyway, I don’t know if they would have put up such a permanent fixture with the characters. That might not mean anything however.
  14. Eh, they usually don’t include new molds so I wouldn’t count on it. Cody requires a new mold for the helmet, which I believe is just one of many reasons he wasn’t included in the Gunship. I’ve seen a lot of people on the inter-webs saying we should have gotten a UCS Venator rather than a UCS Landspeeder. There is absolutely no way those things would have sold for the same price point, so it’s not like the Landspeeder is taking the spot of what could have been a UCS Venator. The bigger UCS sets, like a Venator would be, come out in the second half of the year anyway. I wonder if this minifigure pack will be tied to new or old media. Hopefully not anything Hoth related if it’s the latter but it would be nice if it was Book of Boba Fett related. It could give people a cheap way to get Boba and Fennec and then throw in an exclusive figure or two and you got yourself a hot seller. The build could even be the throne Boba takes in Jabba’s Palace. Whatever this set turns out to be, I’m excited to see what the first modern Star Wars Minifigure Accessory Set ends up being.
  15. Calling it now, UCS Razor Crest next fall. I know, I know, the ship got blown up in Season Two of The Mandalorian and likely won’t be back for Season Three, but I think that with the popularity of The Mandalorian, Lego surely sees the potential in a UCS/D2C Mando set and I think the Razor Crest is the only set I could feasibly see Lego making. Season Three of The Mandalorian is likely coming out fall/winter 2022 and will be highly anticipated after a two year hiatus from the main series and a little under a year since The Book of Boba Fett which is part of the same storyline. I see a similar situation to how Lego handled Stranger Things when the third season of that show released in 2019. They released a D2C based off of the first season to capture the hype around the show at that time. I foresee Lego doing something very similar next year with The Mandalorian. I foresee this set being comparable to the UCS Gunship in size and price, possibly a little bit more if it has an interior. I think the minifigure selection would be Din Djarin (Beskar Armor), Grogu, Cara Dune, Greef Karga, a new Kuiil and IG-11. Thank you for reading my tin-foil hat-wearing theory.
  16. I thought the rumor was that they were in the process of hiring one, not that they already had one employed. Could be wrong about that though. “…they just aren’t in demand.” Like I said earlier, I was expecting the 1HY sets to mostly be rather dull and safe so none of these of rumors are disappointing me. I see people complaining about Lego being out of touch and not listening to fans again, and I’m just looking at the highly acclaimed summer wave and UCS Gunship that just came out and prove otherwise. The exciting stuff has generally come out during the latter half of the year recently, so that’s likely when we’ll get more of your highly requested stuff. Luke’s Landspeeder sounds like a refreshing UCS set imo. I’m not a huge UCS fan, though that’s slowly been changing over time, but this was one of the few unmade OT sets left that would interest me. The only other thing I could think of right now would be a Nebulon Frigate and more remakes of older sets. I don’t find the Luke’s Landspeeder meme to be particularly funny or accurate, so this doesn’t really bother me. I mean, people complain about remakes a lot and yet this will be the third Star Wars D2C in a row that has never been made before. I think that’s something worth mentioning.
  17. I’ve always wanted a Lego Hotel so hopefully that’s what the 2022 Modular ends up being.
  18. I meant to put Scooter lol. I honestly didn’t even know Skeeter existed but she might be a good fit to balance out the males and females in this series.
  19. I’ve found the Star Wars January waves the past couple years to be kind of dull and playing it safe; this year is no different. It feels like the last few years, there’s been a trend of people complaining about more OT retreads in 1HY but then all the really exciting stuff comes out in 2HY. I was in that camp for 2020 and 2021 at least. We also just got a bunch of stuff from the shows in the last wave so it makes sense that they’re going to want to get more of the classic stuff out in the next one. I’m wondering how they’re going to go about this 18+ AT-ST. I don’t know if 10 more dollars is enough of a price increase for this to be a huge display one, especially with Lego scaling down the Star Wars vehicles this year.
  20. Fingers crossed that we get some sort of Hawkeye tie-in in 1HY of 2022.
  21. I posted this in the Disney wishlist thread but I’ll share it here too. This is what I think the roster will end up being. 1. Kermit (with a banjo probably) 2. Miss Piggy 3. Fozzie Bear (with some comedic props like a pie or rubber chicken) 4. Animal 5. Gonzo (with a chicken) 6. Sam the Eagle (with an American flag maybe?) 7. Skeeter 8. Beaker 9. Bunsen 10. Rowlf 11. Swedish Chef 12. Pepe the King Prawn maybe? (not sure if he’d be too big as a minifig but we did get Tweety Bird for Looney Tunes) I’d imagine that Rizzo the Rat would be pretty easy to throw in with somebody. I would love for a Muppet Show and/or Electric Mayhem Bus set to coincide with this release, since we got tie-in sets for the other licensed Disney series (the Castle for Series 1, the Train for Series 2 and the Infinity Saga/What If? sets for the Marvel series) but I see this being more like Looney Tunes where it’s one and done unfortunately. If my roster ends up being correct, then we’d be missing Statler, Waldorf and 4/5 of the Electric Mayhem band.
  22. Ooh, a monorail set would be awesome! Personally, I’ve been holding out hope for Space Mountain or Spaceship Earth for years. Maybe even a Diagon Alley-esque Main Street USA as well. The giant Sorcerer Mickey hat from Hollywood Studios also would have been amazing, but that doesn’t exist anymore unfortunately. ): If they can’t do full size versions of all the rides, then an Architecture-esque line could work. I would definitely be up for that, and it’d be a lot smaller and cheaper than getting full size versions of everything.
  23. I posted my idea for how they could go about that in the Wishlist thread. I just wonder what this could mean for the Disney Park D2Cs. The Train is retiring this year and the Castle surely only has a year or two left. Without a proper Disney Series 3, could we still expect to see another Disney Parks D2C? By the way, when is the new Disney Castle set supposed to release?
  24. There’s new speculation that we could be getting a Muppet themed CMF series in lieu of Disney Series 3. If this actually came into fruition, I have a good idea for what the roster could be: 1. My dream would be for a Muppet themed set to coincide with this CMF release (especially since every Licensed Disney series thus far has gotten one), so here’s my idea for what that could include: The Electric Mayhem Bus ($60-80): The build would obviously be the iconic Electric Mayhem Bus and then a stage with instruments for them all to perform at. I think the bus would be comparable size to the Hidden Side. The figures would include some Kermit variant to differentiate him from the CMF, an Animal variant, Dr Teeth, Floyd, Janice and Zoot. Doing this approach gives us most of the iconic Muppets between the set and the minifigure series. The only major Muppets that would be left missing are Statler and Waldorf, and then maybe Walter if we’re going off the more modern Muppets roster.
  25. I was really looking forward to a potential Disney Series 3, but I’ve also wanted Lego Muppets forever, so I’m kinda torn here. Personally, I’d prefer some sort of Muppet themed set and then a couple figures in the CMF series, similar to how the Steamboat Willie figures were handled last time. An Electric Mayhem bus or Muppet Stage set would be awesome, but I’m just excited to see if this comes into fruition at all. I’m amazed that we haven’t gotten a Kermit Brickhead yet, let alone sets or minifigs.
