LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I still it looks okay. The face is a little stretched out but eh, I can live with it. My bigger problem is that the skin tone is a little too pale imo, but I'm still just happy to be getting the character. That just leaves The Client and Incinerator Stormtrooper as notable figures missing from Season One. Again, take this with a massive grain of salt, but Republic Studs also believes that The Mythrol will be included in the Razor Crest. If this turns out to be true, that'd be a pleasant surprise because I wasn't expecting to get that character in Lego form with the recent allegations against the actor. -

I mean, we're getting Infinity Saga sets now for films that came out anywhere from 2-14 years ago. We got a Far From Home set (and sorta got a Homecoming set) for last year's No Way Home wave. I'm sure Lego and these other toy companies know that there's a lot of demand for more products from the most successful movie since the pandemic; it's just taking time since they probably didn't have material to work off of until the film's release. It took a while for us to get merchandise off of The Mandalorian Season 2, which had a similar level of hype with returning characters, but we did eventually get it. Like I said earlier in this thread, without a live-action Spidey movie releasing next year (after they've been coming out biannually the last few years), that will be the ideal time for these companies to come out with more No Way Home stuff. -
Idk, Lego seems to be doing very little for the 10th Anniversary of Marvel/Avengers this year (20 years since the original Marvel sets for the original Spider-Man films if you want to count those), so I wouldn't expect much for DC either.

I wouldn’t give up so fast. It took about two years for us to get proper Endgame sets but we got them. This Marvel Legends 3-pack isn’t even coming until next summer, which is when we probably would be getting spoilery sets anyway. -

Republic Studs and Lego Fulcrum are both reporting that The Mandalorian version of Ahsoka will be in the Razor Crest. I’m taking this one with a grain of salt, but if it’s true, that’s another one of my predictions that are correct! (Those predictions being that this set would be a UCS Razor Crest, Kuill would be included and now Ahsoka, who I even thought was one of my more unlikely predictions.) I might try my luck with the lottery tonight. Hopefully she has a comparable amount of detail to her The Skywalker Saga design. Assuming this rumor is legit, I definitely don’t foresee this figure remaining exclusive for long. We’re almost certainly getting a set or two for the Ahsoka series next year. Maybe they’ll give her some printed arms here and not any other sets but we’ll see. I’m finding myself getting more and more excited for this set. I was planning on waiting to get it next year, maybe for May the 4th even, but a part of me is considering getting it in October. This would be the first time I get a UCS set on release. We shall wait and see though! -

I think the longevity of this relaunch depends on if they do anything else with this property after Indy 5. It’ll probably be the final movie, but we do know there’s going to be a new video game at least. I could see them doing some sort of animated show or a live-action one similar to the Young Indy Chronicles. Something like that could help justify the theme’s continuation. As it stands, I think if they continued doing about eight or so sets a year, they’d have enough material to keep going for a few more years at least. -
Lego should know by now what we all want. A UCS Ric Grayson taxi cab. That’d be the best selling Lego set of all time.

The leaked Kuill figure looks kinda creepy but I like it overall. It’s a good representation of the character and it’ll probably look better with a clearer picture. Well, that’s one of my new minifig predictions for the Razor Crest proven right (assuming this is real of course). Fingers crossed for Mayfeld and Frog Lady next. -

Well sure, you can’t please everyone but it’s the best option they can go with without skipping some of these shows altogether. I wouldn’t want another situation like the first series putting way too much emphasis on one series (What If?) over the other ones. Like the first series, most of the supporting character and antagonists will probably be skipped over unfortunately. -

If they did two for each show, they could easily fit six series into the CMF. I’m not caught up on everything but they could do Clint and Kate Bishop for Hawkeye (one of then would probably come with the dog), Moon Knight and either Mr. Knight or Scarlet Scarab for Moon Knight and then Ms. Marvel and another character from that show maybe. Depending on when this hypothetical series comes out, they’ll also be able to include characters from She Hulk, Secret Invasion and Echo. -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

It's been a rollercoaster going from speculating if we'd get new sets with Indy 5 to thinking we were getting sets this year that turned out to be Avatar to finally having solid confirmation with set numbers and everything! Getting four sets on the classic movies AND four sets on the new one sounds awesome. Though I hate to be that guy, I've gotta say that it will really suck if the movie's bad and half of these new sets are dedicated to it. Fortunately though, I have faith and am eagerly anticipating the film. Here are some of my detailed thoughts based on what we know: 77012 The Fighter Plane: Sounds like a cool set, though in comparison to the other ones, it's probably the least interesting to me. Including the car that Indy and his dad steal is a good way to distinguish this set from the original, though I think that their plane was the more interesting build than the enemy one in the original set. It's also interesting that this seems to be the only set to include a German/Nazi of any sort with a generic pilot figure. It's also cool to be getting a Last Crusade-specific version of Indy wearing his outfit with the tie that he has on for a decent portion of the movie. 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb: This is probably the most exciting one for me! I missed out on the original version and this one sounds like a more modernized version of it. The best part (besides getting updated Raiders Indy and Marion figures) is finally getting Sallah! He's a main character who never got a figure in the original line. I'm curious to see how the build for the Ark of the Covenant will change and also to see if this set will also have the C-3PO/R2-D2 easter egg. Also, this set sounds really well-priced piece count wise. Yeah, that's subject to change with these recent price increases but $40 for a licensed Lego set with 600 pieces and three new and exclusive figures is a really good value! 77014 The Temple of Doom: I'm also very excited to see this one! It's hard for me to picture based on the description alone but it sounds like they included all the important bits. Honestly, they could've just rereleased the original set and I'd still be happy. The original Temple of Doom is one of the Indy sets I most regret missing on. The scene with the mine carts was always one of my favorite action scenes in the series. I'm excited to get this version of Indy, as well as finally getting Short Round, Willie and Mola Ram, but it's also really cool that the Maharaja is getting a figure here, whereas he was missing in the original line. 77015: I strongly suspect that this will be a remake of the Temple Escape from Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'm not sure how they could do it at a $150 size but I think that this is the most likely candidate. I don't see Lego dedicating the biggest set to the movie that was the most poorly received (Crystal Skull) and the only other location from the original films that I could see them doing at this size is maybe the Grail Temple from The Last Crusade. There's just no way that Lego would miss out on making a set off of the most iconic scene for Lego Indy's grand return. This set could be an intricate, detailed model of the temple with all the trap play features, the boulder and also Jock's plane. The figures could include a reuse of Indy from 77014, Jock, Satipo, Belloq, a few Hovitos tribe members and some skeletons of course. That'd be a dream come true as the original set is one of my white whales. A new hair/hat mold for Indy is just icing on the cake! Fingers crossed that this rebooted theme will be evergreen and we can expect Indy sets for years to come. We could get sets on the new Bethesda video game or other noteworthy sets missing here. For remakes, I'd desperately like to see remakes of 7622, 7682 and 7197. I also don't think we'll see any more Crystal Skull sets if the theme is only being brought back temporarily. Regardless if Indy's here to stay, I'm definitely buying all the sets this time around! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
The Stud replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think everyone here would probably agree with that sentiment but the more relevant thread to discuss this would probably be the Future CMF Series one since this change won't affect Series 23. I was going to just order a complete set of this series but I honestly might try to find these in the wild since this is going to be one of the last series you can really go "hunting" for. It honestly kinda bums me out that those days are coming to an end, as awkward as it is to stand in an aisle feeling bling bags. This should be a pretty easy series to identify specific figures with all the specialized outfits. -

Fingers crossed that Series 2 will have figures from all the shows that have come out since Series 1. Hasbro finally announced their Marvel Legends Tobey/Andrew/Tom Spider-Man three pack due out in August... of 2023. I think it's very possible that we could get some other action figures, Funko POPs and, yes, Lego sets around then as well. Kinda like how we got the Infinity Saga wave between the different toy brands last year, we could get something like that but with Spider-Man next year. It'd make sense since we usually get MCU Spidey waves every other year, but next year there won't be a movie. -
It's obviously going to be a $500 set of Batman's closet full of his rainbow colored suits. https://comicsalliance.com/icymi-rainbow-batman-trinity-1/

The future of Back to the Future

Hopefully that means we're getting more minifigure scaled sets. I'd just like a small wave with some of the notable stuff, kinda like what they're doing with Indiana Jones getting four sets based on the classic movies next year. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lego continually makes odd decisions when it comes to making sets off the animated shows, though that's often on Lucasfilm for not giving them good material to work with. Like half of the Rebels sets were odd choices and were also expensive sets, and the Black Ace TIE Interceptor was a weird choice to do for a show that only got two sets (with one of them already being a TIE and neither of them being the hero's vehicle). The Justifier is especially odd though because The Bad Batch season one has been out for a year now and they probably started working on this set around then too. Of all the sets they could do, they chose this? If they had done your idea of doing a Nu Class shuttle, they could have even given Crosshair this wave's new helmet mold so he could have his range finder. I thought of the same exact quote when I heard all of today's news. That's a really good idea! Confirmation that we're getting a UCS Razor Crest is great. It's one of my most wanted UCS sets, and is definitely one of the more likely ones compared to the Venator or Ghost. I feel very validated for randomly predicting this one several months ago, though I can't remember when or in which thread. It sounds like a pretty good value as well, and the fact that it seems to be minifigure scale sounds awesome. It'll definitely be a big one. Because of its scale, I'm predicting a minifigure selection compared to the UCS Falcon or AT-AT. Maybe eight figures give or take? For reused figures, Mando, Grogu, either Season 1 or Season 2 Greef Carga and maybe IG-11 are easy picks. Cara Dune is possible as well, but I'm not sure if they'll include her in any other sets. That'd be like half the figure selection so that leaves room for maybe like three or four exclusive ones (though hopefully some of them end up coming in other sets) and there so many potential ones they could do. Like @BrickBob Studpants mentioned some sort of exclusive Mando variant seems like a very possible choice. The muddy version is a great pick or maybe they could even do an updated version of Mando in his original armor since both sets with that figure are soon to be retiring. This could be a great set to include Kuill finally and then they could throw him into a microfighter sometime in 2023. This is another shot-in-the-dark prediction but a Frog Lady figure using the new Kermit the Frog head mold. I just love the idea of that part usage so much and this is one of the very few sets we could possibly get this character. She's also not a super major character where people would be devastated about having her be exclusive here. Mayfeld as he's one of the few noteworthy characters we're missing from the series and there's not a lot of other sets they could throw him into. Any of the other members of Ranzar Malk's crew. If it weren't for the fact that Q9-0 would probably require a new head mold, I'd say he's a pretty good choice. He's for some reason really heavily merchandised by Hasbro and Funko, but what makes him a good candidate here is that he's aboard the Razor Crest in almost every one of his scenes during both seasons. Burg, Xi'an and Ran himself are pretty unlikely as they aren't super memorable characters and aren't likely to return, but I figured that I'd mention them. Very unlikely, but Ahsoka in her Mandalorian-era outfit. We'll likely get this figure next year with the release of the Ahsoka series but she could be exclusive to this set until then. -

For what it’s worth, I thought your joke was funny and didn’t see any malice in it. Looks like whenever I get around to buying the UCS AT-AT, I’m probably going to have to try and save on it with my VIP points like I’m doing with the Star Destroyer. (Which I have close to $190 worth set back so far. Thank the Maker for Double VIP events…) Going off of memory, I know that we often get January wave rumors by the end of September because we often get set lists right around my birthday, which is in the middle of the month. Like you said, the pictures usually come around Thanksgiving. I miss the codenames too. I remember people trying to figure out which vehicles from the trailers would fit with which codenames. I think Hasbro Black Series still uses the codenames, even if it’s not for “spoilery” products. Hopefully we get that back for Lego whenever the next film comes out. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
You make some good points but Lego has a tendency to be unpredictable and often times when we try to find patterns in their release strategies, we end up being wrong lol. I just don’t think there’s anything else Lego could realistically do for a $500 Marvel set, but who knows with these recent price increases. No spoilers but having seen Love and Thunder, I still have no idea what that $20 set is supposed to represent lmao. It sucks too because there were other sets they easily could have made instead, but I guess I’m not super disappointed about it since I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie. -

Oh yeah, I hadn’t thought of that. I remember we got Season 2 Sabine in an Advent Calendar when Season 4 of Rebels was airing so anything is possible. Also, it looks like the UCS AT-AT will be going up to $850, the Gunship up to $400 and R2 will be going up to $240 according to the Barnes and Noble website. I believe that we already knew about the rest of the price increases on there. -

Yeah for sure. Whether it’s getting the full set or just the figures, I wasn’t planning on buying either for a while anyway. I’m a bit more interested in getting some other sets at the moment, both new ones and retired ones. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if the exclusive figures will appear elsewhere though. I think we could get a TBOBF Cad Bane at some point, but getting this version of him again, as well as TODO, are dependent on if they show up again in the series, and warrant being included in a set. This will probably be the only time we get a Season One Omega at the rate Lego is making sets for this series. She’s already getting an updated model in Season Two. -

Honestly, I think I might just Bricklink the exclusive figures from The Justifer at this point. I’m not super impressed with the in-hand pictures and I have no idea where I’m even going to put the thing. I’m running out of space (again) very quickly. I was going to wait for a sale or use VIP points to save on it, but meh. There’s better things I could buy with that money, like a second AT-TE even. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That would be an amazing battle pack! I really hope Lego goes back to doing four battle packs annually because that betters the chances for us getting stuff like this. Crazy to think that we haven’t gotten any proper Rogue One sets since 2017. (Excluding Vader’s Castle and that Bail Organa figure from the 2019 Tantive IV.) -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don’t think they’d do a version of that location at quite that size. Besides the cultural phenomenon of The Mandalorian, I don’t see Lego doing any D2Cs based off the other TV shows, especially limited series like Kenobi. Besides, the base is a similar design to Fortress Vader which cost about $130, which means that a Fortress Inquisitorius would probably cost closer to $160-180ish nowadays. Even if that episode was probably the weakest of the series, it was still a cool location that would look great in Lego form. Still, I don’t see Lego choosing it over some of the spaceships featured in the series. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
The Stud replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego just HAS to announce this change the same year I decide that I want to start collecting every CMF series from here on out. (Long-term, I want to eventually go back and get all the older ones I missed out on as well.) Even if it’s better for the environment, I still hate this change. As awkward as it is for a grown-up to be feeling through all the packs in the store, it’s still a fun experience to go hunting for these figures. I’ve been pretty inconsistent with keeping up with the CMFs for the past ten or so years I’ve been collecting them, but feeling through the packs is like a tradition at this point. Back in May, I spent a total of like 45 minutes at Target and Kohl’s getting almost the entire Muppets series in one go. Marvel was the first series where I didn’t hunt for the figures and just ordered a complete set online. It cost a little over retail to do it but I was still able to get the whole series before a lot of other people that I know because that series was so hard to find at first. It looks like this is what I’ll have to start doing for every CMF series, but I’m sure that it’s going to become more expensive to do that since I’m sure a lot of other people will also be switching to that method. These sellers are no longer going to be able to sell the figures as “sealed” because you’ll no longer be able to tell what figure is inside without opening it. As others have pointed out, this is not going to work out well for stores. You’re going to have a bunch of damaged and open boxes on shelves and I’m sure you’ll have people trying to return open boxes because they don’t include the figure they want. Overall, this is just a sucky change and another addition to my list of recent Lego decisions that have rubbed me the wrong way. Increasing to $5 a pack and switching to 12 figures a series didn’t really bother me too much, but this move here really grinds my gears. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
That’s great! That’s what I’ve been predicting as well, just so they don’t have to bother putting out a bunch of sets that will be inaccurate to the new film anyway because they’re based off of outdated concept art. I had low expectations for those three $30 sets when I heard they were Spidey related but if they’re just doing more sets like that lame, random buildable Iron Man from the start of this year, that’s even more disappointing. I don’t think that Iron Man set was exactly a hot seller and is already kind of a waste of a slot in my eyes, let alone doing three more. I don’t think Lego branching out is a bad thing but I feel like you’d be better off buying a (much-better looking) Marvel action figure for the same price. I know that NWH sets probably won’t come until next year, but I was still hoping that with these three sets, they could still do something cool for the 60th Anniversary of Spider-Man. Maybe some sets with some retro figures.
