Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it was divisive in the same sense that just about every new Star Wars release has been divisive to a degree where the discourse is mostly among the hardcore fans. Almost all of the casual fans I’ve talked to really enjoyed the series and it reportedly did pretty well viewings-wise. I’d say it was well received enough to warrant a handful of other sets. Also, it seems very unlikely that Rogue Squadron or Taika Waititi’s Star Wars film will be releasing next year, which gives Lego some extra freedom instead of having to do a wave solely dedicated to a new movie release. I know that we knew about the Kenobi sets beforehand but I meant that Lego probably knew the anticipation for the series ahead of time and that’s why they went forth with immediately releasing two sets based on the show instead of initially only releasing one like most of the other recent series. Then again, Resistance was initially given two sets instead of one so I’m probably wrong there lmao. -

I’ve got a few predictions already that I’ll list out: -At least one other Jedi: Fallen Order set to tie in with the release of Jedi: Survivor next year. The Mantis seems like the likely choice and is also something really high on my wishlist. At the very least, we’ll get a Cal Kestis minifigure in a set. -More Kenobi sets. I think the show did pretty well and had a lot of hype behind it, and I think this has been reflected by the fact that Lego is releasing not just one Kenobi set next wave but two. (Technically three if you count the Brickheadz.) I could easily see us getting a Lola set, similar to BD-1 or D-O, and maybe two to three other sets. Unlike a lot of the other Disney+ series, there’s still a lot of vehicles and ships that they could translate into Lego form. For minifigures, we’d ideally get Obi-Wan’s other two outfits, young Leia, Tala without her disguise, Roken, Haja, a Phase 2 Purge Trooper and maybe also the Fourth Sister despite her limited screen time. -Ahsoka’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle during the summer wave. The Ahsoka series is picking up after that Rebels epilogue and a model of this particular ship was shown off at The Mandalorian Experience at Celebration. This seems like a very likely candidate for a $60ish set to tie in with the show before getting more “spoilery” sets in 2024 possibly. New Ahsoka and Sabine Wren figures seem very likely, and there’s a good chance for Huyang or new versions of Hera and Chopper based off of that leaked Celebration footage. -More battle packs/accessory sets. I think the Snowtrooper battle pack and the Hoth Rebel and Clone Trooper accessory sets sold pretty well, so I would think that Lego will want to capitalize on people’s desire for army building. Ideally, we’ll get more than just one battle pack for the entire year and if we get more of the accessory sets, Lego will actually make them widely available. You would be right, I’d like to see a new version as well. I’m just not sure if I can see Lego fitting it in to a future wave with so many new projects coming out. -
Finally got the Mos Eisley Cantina for Double VIP today. I believe it’s my biggest Star Wars set now, excluding the Sith Art set. I also lucked out and got a third of the Forest Hideout promo because my Lego Store still had some.

Yeah, like @BrickBob Studpants said, if it were a new set, we’d probably have seen or heard about it along with this 4+ AT-ST. Still not sure what set that tan blob could be in that blurry instruction picture though. -

It’s not a horrible set honestly. I don’t really have use for a 4+ AT-ST but I might get it for the figs, though only if I can find a good deal. I still don’t have any Ewok figures so that Wicket is really the highlight of the set for me. -

Yeah, I was surprised to see it in there. I would’ve gotten one too if it weren’t for all the other cool minifigure parts in there lol. Despite the show having some problems overall, I really enjoyed these last two episodes of Kenobi especially and unlike a lot of the other Disney+ series, there’s still a lot of Lego sets I feel that they could come up with. -

Larry Kenobi figure when? I picked up the Mandalorian N-1 as part of my Lego Store haul today. Though I would have preferred to get the set on sale, I figured that I might as well get it before the price goes up later this year. I also got a second Forest Hideout promo so selling that might help me make some of that money back. I also got a BAM box to reach the threshold and I noticed that there were plenty of Season 1 Greef Carga torsos. If you’re someone who’s missing that figure, that’d be a cheap way to get the torso! -

Kaecillious and The Ancient One would have been nice but they didn’t include those comic characters because it’s not a comic set. -

That’s what I’m thinking as well. It’s one of my early predictions for next year, along with us getting Ahsoka’s T-6 Shuttle (to tie-in with her new show) and a new Captain Rex figure somewhere. I guess that’s really where we’re at now, we’ve now seen the majority of the 2022 Lego Star Wars offerings now, so now we can start looking ahead to 2023. Now that we’ve seen most of Lego’s offerings for this summer, I think I’m still pretty solid on my planned purchases for August 1st. I’ll get the AT-TE, BD-D1, Scythe and Jedi Starfighter (and possibly also the Galaxy Explorer) and save everything else for later on, likely waiting for deals on the rest of the Star Wars wave. I think I’ve gotten pretty much every non-4+ or 18+ Star Wars set in the past year so it looks like I’m sticking to that. -

Does anyone know what that side build in The Justifier is supposed to represent? -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
The Stud replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Keeping my thoughts short and sweet: Wow, that's an amazing looking model and a superb minifigure selection! It looks like a super cool display piece from both the interior and exterior. This, the new Galaxy Explorer and 2020's Barracuda Bay together will make for a great display of modern remakes of classic sets. I definitely would like to get this set sometime next year but we'll have to wait and see with all the amazing sets on my wishlist right now. Also, that yellow box is GORGEOUS.- 2,976 replies

That's a gorgeous model. The build techniques almost look MOC-like. I was afraid that this updated model would look too similar to Benny's Spaceship but it doesn't. I love the retro consoles used on the inside of the ship and I don't have any red spacemen so that'll be a nice addition to my collection. Overall, this looks to be an amazing set and I might add it to my August 1st shopping list. If not, I'll get it eventually. We will see.

Definitely Rex, I’d say it’s only a matter of time with this new helmet mold. He’s always been higher on my wishlist because he’s arguably a more important character than Cody. 🫢 I think both sets look really good. The Justifer is still really overpriced but it doesn’t look like *quite* as bad of a value as I thought it would be. I don’t think the renders do a good job representing the size of the set, it looks pretty large in that IRL image. The size looks comparable to Moff Gideon’s Cruiser, which is at a similar price point, and is why I’m not quite as bothered about the price as I was before we got pictures. Still going to wait for a deal though. Also, that figure selection looks really puny in like every single picture, there’s no real “justification” for that. I think the AT-TE looks fantastic. There’s a lot of great detail and small blemishes like the toe placement don’t really bother me personally. I’m glad to see no stud shooter on the spider droid, though it would’ve been an easy mod if it did have it. The figure selection is amazing here. Finally getting Cody is amazing of course, but getting all those 212th Troopers, battle droids and a Clone Gunner make this even more exciting for me. I’d like to army build this set if I can somehow find a discount on if somewhere. Definitely getting one copy on August 1st and then we’ll go from there. Overall, this looks to be an amazing wave for Lego Star Wars. It looks like we’re just missing pictures of the 4+ AT-ST and most likely a UCS Razor Crest (that’s definitely what they were teasing with those shirts), unless we get some surprise sets like whatever that tan blob is from the leaked instruction manual page. -

The leaked pictures definitely showed a different shade of blue on the figure, though it doesn’t really show up very well in these images. I also just found the picture with only the figures and yeah, that hair piece they used for Sinister Strange was odd. The leaked figure used the 2018 Strange hairpiece, which is a better choice for both regular and Sinister Strange imo. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
The Stud replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Pictures are out, same difference. It probably wasn't intentionally uploaded anyway, otherwise Lego would have actually revealed the whole set at Lego Con. Standouts to me are the robot costume, snowman and boat captain. The turkey costume is pretty neat as well. Anyone else notice how similar the faces look between the knight and green dragon? -

The series has leaked. Looks kinda meh overall, it's actually the first series I've felt meh about since the change to 12 figures a series, but there's still some cool figures overall. -

The lighter shade of blue is why I think it's a big improvement. The shade of blue of the previous Stark Suit was the same as the Iron Spider, whereas the Iron Spider should be a darker shade. -

I think the Sanctum looks amazing. That front box art picture makes the building look smaller than it really is. Zooming in on some of the pictures from the back of the box, there are a ton of awesome easter eggs. You can see Doctor Strange's PhD on the wall, a medical scan of Doctor Strange's hand, the wi-fi password and pictures of the Ancient One scattered about. The connection to the Gargantos set is cool and there are a lot of cool build techniques. The size of the set and the 2,708 piece count makes the $250 price feel reasonable imo. My only problem is that some of the minifigures leave a lot to be desired. As I've said previously, the IW Wong and Ebony Maw feel like downgrades and I would've preferred getting extra detail on that Scarlet Witch figure over a very slightly updated Iron Man Mark 50 with the new helmet. That Spider-Man figure is perfect and a big upgrade from the previous Homecoming figure, but it's kinda weird that the standout figure in a Doctor Strange set is Spidey, and not even one from NWH. Overall, I'm impressed but I'll probably wait to get it until next year. -

You’re not wrong, but it has happened before. I remember in Summer 2020 we were only expecting one $100 set until set pictures leaked and we found out that we were getting two, one of which was a retail exclusive. Could be the same case here, though Lego seems to only be doing some of the 18+ sets as retail exclusives for this theme currently. Idk, I just want a Cobb Vanth figure. I’m just going to continue gaslighting myself into believing that that blurry tan blob is a Mos Pelgo (sorry, “Freetown”) set. 😂 Anywho, I think Cody looks perfect. I was a bit worried that the visor would look too big on the helmet but I think it looks great. The Clone Gunner looks fantastic as well. I’m just not quite as excited for it as the other Clones in this set since I already have the previous Phase 2 Clone Gunner from 2017. At this point, I’m just ready to see pictures of the set itself. I’m surprised that we’re getting pictures of the figures from the box art but no pictures of the set itself. -
1) It’s a long shot but maybe try checking Barnes and Noble? Sometimes they hold onto retired sets for a while, mine still has the Jyn Erso buildable figure from like five years ago. If you’re near one, you might also try checking the store(s) at a Legoland park or Discovery Center as they might also have retired stuff. Your best bet will probably be the after-market though. 2) Bricklink’s pretty easy to use. Just toggle through some of the filters (i.e. seller location, new or used, complete or incomplete, etc.) and that will make it even easier. Make sure the seller has a good reputation as well. The one problem I have with Bricklink is that it sometimes won’t come up with the shipping price until after you go through the whole checkout process, so just keep that in mind. 3) It’s always possible, but it’s still pretty unlikely. Lego straight up rereleasing sets doesn’t happen very often and since the set is based on Season 1 (with some references to Season 2 if I remember right), it’s even less likely than Lego making a new set off a newer season altogether. Hope this advice helps you out! I bought The Upside Down during quarantine and despite having some problems putting it together, it’s a really cool set that stands out. I’m only like two episodes into the new season so far, but I am really enjoying it so far. I’d love for Lego to do more with this property, there’s so much untapped potential. Hell, I think they could even do a CMF series and I’d wager that that would be a hot seller. I’m surprised that Lego hasn’t put anything else out besides some Brickheadz/keychains. Unlike Obi-Wan Kenobi, where I’ve seen very little merchandise currently available while the show is running, I have seen quite a bit of new merch for Stranger Things Season 4. Lego released The Upside Down to coincide with last season, so even if they can’t do a set based on the new episodes yet, I’m surprised they didn’t even do Starcourt Mall or anything. There’s certainly a demand for more, as I’ve seen several MOCs and custom minifigures as of late.

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don’t know what they could even make as a $500 NWH set. I think a big Statue of Liberty battle set is a no-brainer and inevitable for whenever they do more NWH sets (probably next year), but certainly not for that price. In my mind, I don’t see this $500 set being anything besides Avengers Tower or maybe a Helicarrier remake. This seems like it’s the only possible Lego Marvel/Avengers tenth anniversary set at this point and with how, with the exception of a few sets, this year has largely been lackluster for Lego Marvel (especially in comparison to last year), they’re going to need a real crowd pleaser. There’s also not really any other Marvel sets that they could realistically do for that price in my eyes. Speaking of The Avengers, I just rewatched the first movie last night and I would really like some remakes of sets from that film. -

I’m right there with you both, that definitely looks like some sort of Tatooine building but I couldn’t tell you what it is. I don’t know how pictures can still have such awful quality in this day and age. I wasn’t a huge fan of TBOBF but as someone who wants to have all the newer major characters represented in Lego form, I would still like to see a set with Cobb Vanth and TBOBF-styled Cad Bane. (I’d also like a new Rancor but that’s far less feasible at this point.) That could possibly be what we’re getting here. Another picture just leaked of all the Justifier figures and while TODO, Cad Bane and Omega look great, and while it is nice to get Hunter and Fennec with a helmet in another set, that is just an awfully small figure selection for $160, or now $170. Lego should have put at least two more figures in that set to at least somewhat justify the cost. I’m still confused why Lego finally made a new Kaminoan mold and it seems to be one-and-done. There’s not a lot of sets you can include Kaminoans in and this would have been the perfect set to at least include Nala Se (even if Taun We is technically the Kaminoan in this scene, she’s already coming in a set). This set in general continues to confuse me. It’s $70 more expensive than the Bad Batch set from last year, it has only 100 more pieces, it comes with less exclusive figures, it comes with less minifigures in general if you don’t count Todo and the ship itself is far less recognizable. It’s also the most expensive non-UCS set this year. And from anecdotal experience, I’m not even sure that last year’s Bad Batch set was even a top seller to begin with. (It certainly didn’t flop like Vidiyo or Queer Eye though.) And I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have not found any amazing Lego deals at Walmart, Target, etc. in recent years, so I don’t know how likely it is is for this set to go on sale. Fortunately, I have a feeling that this set will show up at Costco at some point. I heard that the current Bad Batch set will start to show up at some locations and they’ve been getting the Light Cruiser as well, which fills the same price point. If you go to #legoleaks, there’s a picture of the back of the instruction manual for one of the new Lego Star Wars sets and it looks like there’s some sort of Tatooine building in the picture in the center, underneath the Jedi Starfighter. -

I don’t see why they wouldn’t, unless those diorama sets we’ve already gotten sold extremely poorly (which I don’t think has been the case). Ideally, any future ones would be a bit more reasonably priced though…
