I think a castle book would be a great idea. The star wars books are well done, but the history of Lego Castle goes back to the beginning of lego minifigures themselves. The first horses were built from bricks. As for the black knight faction I just like the look of the torso marching under the faction flag of a blue dragon in front of a yellow background. Unique from the green dragon shield of the dragon masters. I only pine for an actual monarch for the black knight faction an owner for the "Black Monarch's Castle" 6085.

our only hope is lego idea page for unique sets

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
dgherko replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I love the models that people build so I think the best compromise would be a line of an iconic machines with no figures that could be along the line of the architecture models. With no figures, no insignia I think there would be less controversy. Having served in the military, and collected Lego both for over 20 years, I don't turn to Lego for 20th century on even more modern items. I do hope for US Civil War mini-figures in the CMF line -
The Black Knight faction had the two best castles, (6085 and 6086) a gate 6059 the sea serpent, plenty of cavalry, good footmen just did not have the named character (the black monarch)

Castle sets: Part-packs, fig-packs or both?
dgherko replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I try and get one of each set and multiples of set that have good minifig counts. I need just a few sets to have one of each. The yellow castle, joust the prisoners convoy, black falcon catapults, smugglers hayride, old kings castle, armorers shop and a few others. I need a total of eight plus the new battle of five armies set to have them all -
What are your prices for the Minotaurs and elves

The Black Knight castles (6085 and 6086) are among the best ever. The Dragon Masters Castle 6086 stands as probably the finest ever made
-
I have linked the dragons (original dragons with the newer two green/silver/black and the black red) The lion body shields new and old The lion head factions

I have not seen all the monster figs. I hope one has some castle usefulness
-
just seeing the still shots make me go blaaahhh

The easter egg knights were not great but ok

I have been buying this theme since 1991. I can wait a little while for more info.

As long as castle continues I will not complain. I lived the last dark age of the castle line, it was not fun at all
-
Chess set will make a good army builder.

I would like an ancient theme as well, I just don't think it will appeal to kids. Robin Hood will give us something different We have had many versions of both the lion and the crown. Lego seems to use this again and again. Maybe replacing the dragon that we have seen in blue, green, red, dark green versions with something different.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
dgherko replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It will allow me to pick up a few old sets that have escaped me. Picked up 6073 Knight's Castle. I will dabble in some Pirate sets for the minifigs. Who knows maybe one of the monsters have some connection with the castle world. -
I think Robin Hood has good play-ability. It has the ability to have a good and evil king, and a mix of main characters and no name figures. Castles, farms and town scenes. It is a timeless story and more kid friendly than say King Arthur.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

Not much here for castle collection. Finally, a break to my wallet. -
Evil King, Evil King Evil King I am ok with simple or more complex heraldry. Dragons and Lions do add play-ability for kids. I think a Robin Hood theme would be a nice addition lots of main characters: Robin, John, Tuck, Will Scarlet, Marion, The Sheriff, Prince John and Good King Richard. It would have lots of elements. Main players, lots of bad guys, chance to have a big castle and bunch of smaller sets, forest scenes, village scenes wagon to pillage.

Very impressive old school collection. I like to see the mixture of older parts with the newer ones. The replacement of the yellow "fleshie" heads with the newer heads and the hands to match each head, with the old torsos. The mixture of new and old weapons is a nice touch.
