Ha ha! Good one. But you're right about the bathroom. Not for this set, but it's one of the things that Friends does so well.

I voted for the mini golf, but part of me is glad that the Vikings won. Just a shame all three couldn't be made. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

A 16x32 current would be a very thin building though, by the time you take into account the sidewalk and the walls. Maybe only 6-7 studs of space inside? -

This deserves more credit than is going to get, but good work. I particularly enjoyed the completely accurate and obviously solidly broad spectrum assumptions. -

As with all of these things, when the official images release it will probably look better, but right now, it feels like it's lost a bit of drama from the original. The rocky base is less prominent, the tower is too short. The colour doesn't stand out. The scaling comes from making it minifigure compatible, even though the total height is probably about the same between the original and this one. It's just that the proportions feel very different now. The colour surprises me though, as they normally like to make things more colourful, not less. Looking forward to the reveal though. As I said, official images always bring out more than a blurry leaked one. -

Maybe they were going for accuracy, and because of the large, rubbery, webbed feet that seagulls have, they decided to use that material? Ha ha!- 5,943 replies

But maybe the seagull needs slightly thinner wings to be in proportion, so they're more likely to snap.- 5,943 replies

Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Agreed, they don't need to be able to pin together, but I'd want it to be able to stand next to Diagon Alley and work. That probably means continuity of the alley in some form, a similar scale (although it can be a different size, because Gringotts is larger), and they could have a different approach, perhaps being 24, or 32 studs deep, rather than only 16, which could still work well with DA. It would just be a shame if they decided to go in a complete different direction, like 2018-2020 vs 2021-2022, or down to a simpler playset, or a $500 Icons or HE style centrepiece. Yes, this. That's what I'd hope for, but Ninjago appears to have considerable restraint when not coming up with something 'totally new', which many designers like to do, to put their own stamp on things. And the fact that the Harry Potter line changes things the most makes it feel like if it's going to happen anywhere, it will be here. Whatever they come up with, it will no doubt be amazing and I shall enjoy looking at it. It just that, for me, I hope it links nicely with DA. And while LEGO may know this, they also have a habit of doing things that people haven't asked for, or don't want. Like the Hogwarts 2021-2022 redesign, the Icons, the oversized HE, the changing of school robe designs on minifigures. So, nervously optimistic, maybe? -

The 'worry' about someone else designing Gringotts is that they decide to take it in a totally different direction so that it really doesn't work well with Diagon Alley. That would be such a shame, because although whatever they come up with would no doubt be cool, the inability to tie the two together would frustrate everyone. -

I've not seen it yet, but would love to see it, or even try it myself. I'd like to combine two to create something at a larger scale (maybe 50% more), to make it properly four floors, and maybe an extra 16 studs wide. -

I wonder if the built up track is got model stability, allowing you to pick it all up in one go and not collapse. Otherwise, pretty inefficient use of parts and plastic that could otherwise be achieved with some plates and tiles. On Gringotts, I'd love a $400-$500 set with the bank, vaults, small track, dragon, and Bourgin and Burke's. Plus, something that fits with Diagon Alley, rather than deciding to do a new interpretation of it. Or, probably, any combination of those things. What would probably be worst of all is doing a scaled down version like the MoM, and charging $100 for it. -

I've not watched the films for a while, but one enduring memory of them is that as they went on there were fewer and fewer instances of being in wizarding clothes, and them just being in normal clothes. I know that for a lot of the later films they're outside of Hogwarts, but even in the middle films in Hogwarts there's a lot of non-wizarding clothes. I didn't get this impression from the books, so it's clearly a creative decision in the movies. (I personally didn't like it, but that doesn't matter). So to focus on the need to include Hogwarts robes when there weren't really a lot visible anyway, just seems a bit odd. Especially given that they're at the expense of two people somewhat vital to the scene. Oh well. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion

There will likely be an embargo on when information can be released by news sites like Jay. So while they may be out in the wild from a few retailers who have put them out too early, it's not through official marketing channels. Someone may buy them up for review early though. -

Mine too. They've designed the middle floor to look like two storeys on the outside. Again, clever design, looks nice on it's own (and next to the Daily Bugle). Would still love to attempt to make it larger. But then, I don't really want a larger set, so quandaries. I shall enjoy building it per the instructions first and see how I feel when it's done. -
Agreed. An extra $100 on a moonbase would be cool. But, the thing to consider for LEGO is whether it's twice as good for twice the money? In fact, it would probably have to be more than twice as good, because there are fewer people happy to spend $200 on a set than $100. And a moonbase feels like it would much easier to MOC. If they only do one set, then a 3in1 like this is perfect. Of course, other small bits - perhaps as part of a modular moonbase - would be awesome.

Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Have the original images been removed from Reddit? Are they deemed a leak, despite it being LEGO that's send out the sets to regular consumers? I don't understand the use of the light bricks for what feels like a display only model. You have to touch the bricks to make them come on, whereas most would want a light controlled by a switch that can be left on indefinitely. -

It looks really good, but, as with the icons set, I'm glad they've made a great model and that people are delighted with it, but I can't see me getting it. It takes up a lot of space and costs a lot for something that doesn't really fit into the play system. Nice to be able to see and admire it though. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
While the parts selection has reduced a bit, it's not significantly smaller than before (is it?). The notable difference is the lack of new pieces. I've tended to use the service to build things from Rebrickable, or sets I have most pieces for, and don't want to pay aftermarket prices for the whole thing, or even a few MOCs. Those all generally use widely available pieces. I'm curious about those of you that now no longer use the service. Do you already have a huge collection of parts, and so the new parts are the only ones of interest when you're building? Or do you just like ordering the new parts because new is generally fun? Or am I missing something that suddenly makes it worse for building MOCs?
