  1. I agree with you entirely. This position also has strong evidence to support it, as my children do exactly this every year. Some of the things they come up are incredible!
  2. Bricklink Designer Program sets only have elements from a specific parts catalogue from LEGO. They may have printed pieces, but no new prints. So the designers may choose prints from the standard parts selection (which you can also get on Pick a Brick), but have to resort to stickers for any new decorations. There's always a chance this could change in the future, but given the relatively low volume production, I doubt it. You could go third party. Steindrucker has alternative printed elements to replace stickers, and has done a few of the BDP sets - Lego Steindrucker / Marketing Bausteine. LEGO® Custom Packs – Printed Bricks Instead of Stickers | Steindrucker.com But they're expensive and shipping from Germany is quite a lot too. So it depends how much the stickers bother you.
  3. Ooh! Very exciting news, thank you!
  4. There is a new Ideas competition to design a vendor for a modular street that will be turned into a future GWP. 150-200 pieces and no vehicles allowed.
  5. To those reading a castle thread, I suspect the upcoming garden will be extremely disappointing. I would imagine it being a northern European (UK, France, Germany area) manor house garden in a similar style to the Fountain Garden but with different wall styles and plants.
  6. Mine has also changed to In Warehouse, hurrah!
  7. The top side looks far better as there is more going on which distracts from the hexagon, but crucially, the hexagon itself is broken up by having one stud differences on the plate positions, so you don't really notice it. I considered whether this would help the underside too. Mostly though, the very harsh/angled lighting they've used on the box art really accentuates the hexagonal plates. But in the real world videos, in natural lighting conditions, it's far less obvious, so hopefully it won't be a problem.
  8. It's extremely frustrating. I might have to start saying legos instead of LEGO just to irritate them back. It's not even a word. Just a basic spell check is all they needed. Or for someone to read it. What a shame. I wonder if they'll do a sticker reprint?
  9. Agreed. I can imagine these being successful, even if they're not of interest to me directly.
  10. Tiago Catarino has a designer interview video with the model. I think it looks great in realistic settings and the choice of lighting on the box art overly accentuates the octagonal shape. The phaser array still looks rough. The way the designer moves it around suggests that it's very stable, which is impressive. I'm really looking forward to getting this!
  11. For anyone in the US, the Blacktron Renegade is on sale at Target for $55. You can use the rest of the money to buy parts to modify it!
  12. None of them particularly excite me. They're nicely done, well executed, and I think better than the 2025 sets, but I am very likely to get any of them. But then, I'm also probably not the target market for traditional Chinese objects, having never been to China. The snake head mould was $11 on PAB and I fear that the horse head may be similar, which is such a shame.
  13. Still showing as processing for me. I really do hope it arrives. Some of the posts of builds look great. In the meantime I've been enjoying doing the mushroom village which has also been nicely detailed and delightfully fun.
  14. I'm hoping that it's the lighting that's causing the issue here and that in real-life and more natural lighting it won't be quite so obvious.
  15. Yes, memory is clearly off. I always thought Q was far more prominent too, but he's only in a few episodes. Of course the one that we're all missing and is far more prominent than all of them is Lwaxana Troi, who is not only a great character, but Majel Barrett was the ships computer across many of the series (and all TNG) and was also in TOS. It would have been terrific to get her as a GWP, but maybe she's better suited to a real set at some point in the future.
  16. It's curious that they appear to have moved away from the dioramas, but are also continuing to look at sitcom sets on Ideas. A transporter room set really would have been great, but it also leaves the door open for a real transporter room set in future if they want to do smaller scenes/sets. That felt too low (although it's still a low number), so I looked it up, and it's actually 8. I've never really thought of her as a mainline cast character and would consider Reg Barclay as more prominent (he was in ten episodes). I had assumed that she was there to tie things into DS9, and in looking up the number, it turns out that she was planned to be a main character in DS9, but Michelle Forbes turned down the role, so we got Kira Nerys instead. So could have been a lot more significant. I really hope we get Tasha Yar, Dr Pulanski, Chief O'Brien, and Q at some point. Can't really see major sets featuring all of them though, sadly.
  17. It looks better than I thought it would actually. But the saucer section of the Enterprise keeps drawing my eye negatively. I can't get over seeing it at a hexagon because of the way it's constructed. Hopefully the shadows/lines won't be as harsh in the real life set, and it's the photography lighting that is doing it an injustice, because the rest looks great.
  18. Also not that interested in the micro builds. They're too small for decent play or meaningful display, but worst of all, because they're so small, the building techniques often feel basic as there's little room to do much of interest.
  19. Happy building! I've been doing the mushroom village the last few nights and really enjoying it so far.
  20. So does that mean we might see F1 CMFs in 2027? Or will it just be that they are leftover series 1 still on shelves?
  21. Series 28 Animals is out on Reddit (released through a retailer). It's the full marketing photos, and I think they look great, for costumed figures. A missed opportunity for actual animal moulds, and for a wider range of figure types, but they are executed well. Some lovely new prints. I think I'll probably get these. They're fun. My children will like them. And they're well executed.
  22. Only McGonagall's cat and Luna's hare patronuses. Nothing in the bike chase scene, potions classroom, flying Ford Anglia, Cornish Pixie, or Philosopher's Stone collection. And no new animals in the Series 28 Animals CMF. And only one rubber duckie for the crocogator costume. Oh well.
  23. Six sets announced in the latest review results - LEGO Ideas results announced - Six projects approved! | Brickset Some variety in there and I can imagine they're trying to appeal to a range of people. Some I like, others are not for me. The Smurf village has some appeal given how much I like Jonas Kramm's mushroom village sets in the BDP. I prefer his models to the submitted version, and it's a shame that LEGO feels like the concept has to be tied to a licensed IP rather than something generic. The Power Rangers could be a lot of nostalgic fun, and while I'm not normally into mechs, I have Voltron, and I'm tempted by the Fortnight Mecha Team leader because it just looks like a fun, quirky thing. I wonder if all three together would be an interesting combo.
  24. Mine is also still In Progress, but the other sets I ordered from the wave have shipped. I'm really hoping it's genuinely processing and there are sets to fulfill the orders.
  25. Welcome to Eurobricks! That's quite a backlog if you haven't opened the 2016 train yet. I really like it, and my children play with it each year without any major stability issues. I saw the small gingerbread house in-person in a store and that sealed the deal that I will get it. I think it scales pretty well as a novelty shop for a real-world village setting, compared to the fantasy setting for the Gingerbread House. Still not ordered it though, as I also have a few of the previous sets still to build!
