Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Agreed. This is why I'm torn between the two. And you can't really miss and match as they take up different widths on the baseplate, which probably contributes, with the larger of each component looking better. -

Reddit is saying that in the upcoming Ninjago 71861 The Old Town, Zane will have a 'falcon in the shape of the old parrot mold'. That suggests either a new print or a new mould, unless they're just going for a single colour grey, which would surprise me.- 5,898 replies

I hope it's genuine demand and that the sales continue to be strong. There's a chance it's largely driven by resellers looking to cash in on the GWP and something new, as there are lots of listings on eBay for the set and individual figures. Genuine demand will deliver high sales over an extended period, which is what LEGO likely looks for. Either way, the build is hopefully good and I hope for others in the future.

I can't believe that it's sold out on the US website already. By 5:00am it was gone. Recently I've not bothered staying up to order at midnight at play the waiting to get into the website game, as they've had decent stock levels. Fortunately, this time i didn't want to leave it to chance, so got up at 00:30 and still has to wait until a while before I could get on the website. Looking forward to building this one. I wonder if they will have corrected the boldy sticker or if they will do a replacement later.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'm not a massive fan of Market Street, but I have been pondering whether to build that version or the Market Street 2.0 by PH-VAP - LEGO MOC Market Street 2.0 by PH-VAP | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO - which is closer to the original, but I do love the alley in the SleeplessNight version, which is more of an arcade given the grandeur of it. -

The Sherlock Holmes book nook looks great as an alleyway, but the access is tricky when it's all together. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have placed three Pick a Brick Standard orders in the last week and a half and ALL THREE shipped within two days. Also, for those in the US, all three have now appeared in the USPS Informed Delivery listings again, after an absence for quite a while. All three orders have now left the DHL facility in New Jersey, which i assume means they've gone through customs and will arrive with me in a few days. Very impressive! -

I think the problem with the Boutique Hotel alley is the angle. It made the buildings too small for internal details and still would on a corner module. And it would be far less noticeable on a straight/full baseplate I suspect, so less chance of it happening. -

It was the Boutique Hotel and is the reason why it's at an odd angle. They closed up the alleyway, but kept the shape. Only stickers and prints usually, so it should be possible. I'm certainly going to look into it if it's a good model. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Controversial point here. I like stickers in the winter village set. I build them with my children and they really like adding the stickers. I understand the frustration and I'm not a huge fan on most of the icons sets, but I happily forgive them on sets for children, where they're not used in some kind of specific play feature. -
This is probably the most disappointing series for me so far. I've bought at least three from each of the past series, but with this none of them really call out as being great. With the huge caveat that I personally couldn't do any better, but my feelings compared to past series and some of the other submissions in series 9: Blacksmith feels like it's behind the other wild west entries so far, but it fits and is OK. Fisherman's village competes with the Italian Riviera and doesn't come out that well. And neither of them are as good as the original Italian Riviera idea/submission. Sleepy Dragon has some nice ideas, but at the same time it feels a bit sparse and also overly large, so scaling with Medieval Blacksmith perhaps, but not other castle stuff. And it will likely be about $300. Pumpkin patch doesn't appear to have anything of interest, being brutal. And yet will probably be about $50. It's a shame, as it's a lovely little thing, but it feels like one of those modular expansions from PAB last year. The freight depot is perhaps most tempting as it's to scale with other train elements, has some nice play features, and may only be $200, which may be reasonable. Definitely want to see the final versions and reviews of them, but it did feel like there were more impressive options.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
The Winter Gazebo looks lovely and will definitely look at getting it. The employee gift is interesting. I'd like to see more of it to see the back half, but it feels like two different sets mashed together to form an unconvincing modular building. Sadly, lots of stickers, which will be exclusive, but hopefully no pieces that are, so it could be built up. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have just finished building the Bricklink Designer Program Mushroom Village and lined it up with the earlier series Mushroom House and the Ideas Insects collection to make a small 'mushroom village street'. In doing all of this, I've really been enjoying both the botanical elements within it and the curves of all the mushroom buildings, water, terrain, and other elements. There is something immensely satisfying about taking a LEGO element that is traditionally blocky and making some smooth, curved, organic style shapes. I hope that the new modular has some kind of curve style to it and isn't very blocky. -

It's so much better than LEGO City! And if you live in a place of perpetual summer, you may occasionally want a vacation into somewhere cold and snowy. The move from pastel shades is sometimes a bit of a shame, but time moves on, I suppose. -

They've already done it! They renamed it Friends, and it is, genuinely, the best overall theme in the LEGO portfolio. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I placed an order for bestseller and standard pieces on Monday evening in the US. Looked at my order today and the standard order is marked as shipped (bestseller still in warehouse). I'll believe it when I see it, but that would be a pretty impressive turnaround. Of course, shipping may take a long time if it's still coming from Europe. -

Dark blue classic space helmets and air tanks are on PAB in the US. Typical, after I placed an order yesterday. I'm going to do another order on Insiders weekend, so I hope they remain in stock. -
Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
No. Well, I didn't order any, nor did I see any while I was looking. I got some tigers, baby gorillas, gorillas, sharks, seagulls, ravens, cows, lambs, hares, (Friends) highland terrier, red panda, sea turtle, tan puppy, and pigeon. Generally two of everything, but five seagulls and pigeons.- 5,898 replies

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

It's a timber-framed house, so a nod towards medieval, but nothing else. Way off minifigure scale, although we expected that anyway. -

Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, placed an order that was far larger than I was expecting to, but half price animals almost makes them reasonably priced! Figured that things would sell out if I left it too late. There were already lots gone, but at the same time, this was all nice to have and anticipating things I might want in the future.- 5,898 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
OMG! The standard parts list is how available in the US and the Arctic fox is 'only' $5.93! Pigeons are $1.19. I think some new parts are missing though. No dark blue classic space helmet or air tanks, for example. -
