Another @Brick Clicker video says 10303 will be $360 and a roller coaster, possibly with a loop. HUGE Lego Roller Coaster Coming In 2022!? ($360!?) - YouTube That sounds exciting, but I hope they differentiate it from the 10261 roller coaster. And, ideally for me, something with a slightly smaller footprint. A drop roller coaster would be good, and allow them to incorporate a loop without too much space required. This one on Ideas by Wacky Brick is excellent - LEGO IDEAS - The Drop Coaster

Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote

Pirates is easily my favorite, but I'm with you that it should be something else. Barracuda Bay was so good, unless they do Imperials, which they won't, it's better to do one of the others. Castle seems the best bet and is probably the most iconic as a legacy thing. But space was maybe more prolific? Either would be suitable. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Here's another curiosity. I placed an order Feb 1 for 200 1x1 round tiles (for an Art project) through Bricks & Pieces where they are 3c each. You can get the same things from PAB for 4c each, but I'm happy to wait and it's nice to keep cost down and all that. My confirmation email says 200 tiles at 3c each for $6 coming from Bricks & Pieces My order on the LEGO website now says 200 tiles at 4c each for $8 coming from PAB. But the total order cost is the same for both, so they're not actually charging me more to have it fulfilled by PAB. -

I clearly got my dates wrong. I was just surprised that the PAB was coming both from the US (to the US) and so quickly - it has been taking a couple of weeks recently. That's clearly why there are far fewer parts available on PAB. -

I placed an order on Jan 27 that had sets, PAB, and B&P. LEGO has just sent me a shipping notification saying that the sets AND PAB have all been shipped together. B&P still in warehouse. It looks like they've already implemented the new system, which I didn't expect for a January order. -

It also has the 2x2 round tile with fleur de lis print (6382799, $0.63) and the various parts that make up the compass (2x2 round tile 6391278, $0.63 and 2x2 bow tile 6382797, $1.01). The compass is expensive, given that you need four of the printed bow tiles, but could certainly be useful. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I acquired a huge number of plates ages ago and then finally decided to do something with them, creating a load of MILS plates for my modulars. Partly because it might be nice to do a city one day, but also because it will make them much more stable when they get moved around and played with (mostly by my daughter, but I enjoy them with her). And as they all (currently) sit in a line on a shelf, I decided to make them all black, so that it matches the Architecture line style. In putting them together I realized that I needed more black plates, so they are on order, but now the transfer begins. I didn't want baseplates on the bottom because of the colour, but also because it annoys me that they're not in system. And I want to do this in 16x16 modules to use new road plates in the future (if I do a city). I originally tried to do this with all LEGO plates, but it wasn't quite stable enough to have standard plates on top and bottom, so I found some 32x32 stackable plates on Amazon. Not LEGO, but they have the company name on the studs, hopefully suggesting they are proud of the quality. Also the outside structure isn't official MILS as I wanted to do the 16x16 modules, and wanted to minimize the number of holes/gaps on the edge, as it will likely be visible - at least in the near future. Anyway, looking forward to getting them all used up. -

They didn't use trans-neon orange for the lanterns in Ninjago City Gardens, despite it being used in Ninjago City and Ninjago City Docks and having an Ice Planet ice cream shop. The conclusion was because it was a retired colour, so they had to use something else instead. So I don't think that it's just because nothing has used the colour recently. -
The swing ride was in the background of all the fairground rides except the first - mixer, Ferris wheel, carousel and roller coaster. The roller coaster was in the background of three of them. And the roller coaster box art had the swing ride and Ferris wheel in it. The roller coaster in the background art was white and red, like the eventual set (although also like all classic roller coasters). The swing ride in the background art is a yellow and red spiky structure with a classic space planet on top. It looks cool, but might be tricky to achieve structurally. None of them had the haunted house, and that had the 18+ black box art, so no further clues.

Oh well, all animals out of stock this morning when I ordered. Still, got a load of stuff ordered before the change. I noticed that the Pick A Brick section is very reduced, and that there are shark bodies on there, but no heads, which seems both unusual and unhelpful! Kittens and squirrels will have to wait until next time. Or the time after that. Or the time after that. -

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

Not sure that I agree with the logic that if they reject it from ideas they are working on it themselves. But you said 'could speculate', and that's what 90% of this forum is, so yes, let's definitely speculate! Things like Avatar and LOTR where there is a current, big budget production in the works, plus a huge range of potential scenes and characters to portray, are eminently suited to a full wave, rather than a single ideas set. Especially if you consider that licensing costs may be higher due to the concurrent linked media and/or that other companies may be vying for a larger license and want exclusivity. Let speculation commence though. And let's hope it's right! -

It's just part of the regular review cycle - 2nd review of 2021. LEGO IDEAS - Blog - 34 Product Ideas Qualify for the Second 2021 LEGO Ideas Review They should be announcing the results of this within the next few weeks, hopefully. Personally, I can't see them picking this. If they were going to do LOTR, it wouldn't be through Ideas. Especially if the idea is to use the new series as the base for it. Plus, it feels odd to have a microscale Minas Tirith but made into a playset with Minifigs. And if you're going to do a single LOTR set, it would be Bag End, wouldn't it? And two excellent versions of that were rejected very recently. None of which is to say that I'm right, nor that I wouldn't like more LOTR sets. I just doubt that this is the route they'd take. -
This is fabulous!

It doesn't. The set I want will cover the GWP. It's just the shipping costs I don't want to pay, for what will probably only be a $15-$20 B&P order. But it will be free if I order something else. -

Danger is my middle name. But then, so it backlog, and I have many sets still to build, so I'm never in a rush for stuff. -

I just hope that stock levels hold up until Friday. I don't have enough left on the list to get after my last order, but want to buy something for the taxi GWP and will add a bunch of B&Ps things to that. -

I don't think you understand. Grey squirrels are an invasive species in Europe. They're bigger and more aggressive than their red cousins, and so outcompete them for food and territory. Meanwhile, red squirrels fart rainbows, so they're much better. -
Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Good luck with it. Hope that it goes well and that you recover quickly. For many adults the idea of having something cool to display, combined with a nostalgia for LEGO, but also a lack of space, means you need to go taller and more substantial than traditional playsets. I wonder if having something to fill a Zoom background is also a driver. Plus, for many adults looking at stuff like this, the difference between $50 and $100 or $200 isn't that big. So LEGO chooses to maximize revenue and generate more PR from funky sets. (Clearly many struggle with even $20, but, sadly, LEGO isn't really targeting them and it's probably not what they would consider buying anyway). I'm with you. Happy not to be a completionist and pick the things I like, but pleased for others who enjoy the variety. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yes, I've always had GWP added to the cart if I'm 1c below the threshold. I wasn't so much trying to defend LEGO as justify it. They're a private company and can do what they want. And we're not entitled to a GWP, but can equally go elsewhere, especially when most sets can, after a while, be had at a discount from other retailers. And there are other manufacturers. But I agree that the inconsistency is irritating, and that it's not ideal to change things so much, or be unpredictable from a customer satisfaction perspective. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
While I agree that in a comparison it's crazy, but LEGO has a stock shortage and loads of customers wanting to buy stuff. From a short-term monetary position this strategy gets them the most money for the least cost. Whether that impacts long-term brand perception or customer loyalty, I don't know. It may also stop people getting loads of the GWP meaning others don't get it at all, which is somewhat easy to do if you're going to buy a load of 18+ sets anyway, most of which are over $200. And possibly the threshold was set when they thought it was to release with the Boutique Hotel at $200?
