Heroica RPG - Quest #42: The Meaning Of It All
Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"You forgot to mention the steak," "As far as the 'Ostrich Raiders' are concerned, why don't we just go and take them out now instead of dilly-dallying around here. It is rather tiresome, you know. What exactly do we gain by giving Mr. Taily these presents?"- 892 replies

Serves Scumba right, he refused to convert and wear proper clothes when I told him to. -

"What, exactly, will peace with you profit us, I wonder? Why would we need to give you a token. We were preparing to beat you in battle, you know. But because I'm so nice and always help poor people in need..." I dig into my cart and hand him one gold coin. What a kind soul I am! I think. "Erdy, try giving him your bone in exchange for the steak!" Uh, oh! I hope you're not expecting us to hand over the "all seeing eye" or whatever it was called, that Scuba turned over to the dragon.- 892 replies

What a death! Imagine, Monk Pretzel actually got a sizeable donation for someone. I wish I could attend his funeral, but unfortunately I won't be around... -
I think this is more like it. Note: never, ever get on Hybros' bad side. Sad to see your quest dropped for now, Scuba! Hope to see it get back and running soon enough.

But that would almost make "aim a better roll than a a "hit". My thoughts as well.

Shhh! It's been working so far. I think I spoke so convincingly that Flare completely forgot.

Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Or...we could share a steak with you as a sign of friendship. ...Now who could provide us with steak...? Clearly, if your story is true, then the Ostrich Raiders were the ones who caused you the problems. If they did I think they may be better people than I thought. We were planning on taking them out anyway, but we'll see. By the way, you should know that I thought we should leave you alone to your peace as we passed, but the elf was the one who bothered you. "He's an evil spirit, Adam. Don't you know nothing. All of these water spirits are creatures of the nether world and need to be sent back to hell where they belong, but knowing Erdathcath I bet she's going to try to reason with him too! Think of the lost experience!" "Alright though, because I'm such a nice guy, I'll talk some sense into him... "Relax, watery merman thing. My party members seem intent on not hurting you, but reasoning with you. The truth is, we're not one of those who enslave you. As much as I may wish that you had stayed enslaved. Besides, I have no interest in coming anywhere close to you, if i can at all help it, but I'll tell you what. Let's have a go at the steak and cal it a day...I'm rather hungry, you know. ...Um...also, it's not nice to kill people, but...oh, here's an idea, if you calm your head and leave us alone, I'll heal you up nice and well. How does that sound? I also do like steak...no pressure there, though, just thought I should let you know."- 892 replies

"Um...you're crazy!" I offer helpfully as I heal Adam. "Erdy, one of us needs to heal Adam. I can do it, since you deal more damage. Not sure whether Adam should play it safe and fight from the back row or if he should continue in the front? I suppose we can put him last in the battle order and up front since you have a third of a chance of healing him and I have a half chance, but I'll let you decide. I hate having nothing to do, so I'll propose a battle order if you don't mind:" Proposed Battle Order: Erdy: Merman (Back Row) Pretzel: Heal Adam if Erdy didn't roll "Roots of Life," if she did, attack Merman (Front Row) Adam: Merman (Front Row)- 892 replies

"How helpful! Why didn't you bring him here to help us out. Would you also stop squealing like that. It's disturbing. By all means, run away, I like you better when you're gone," I snort.- 892 replies

Three rounds, I believe. I attack the Merman from the Front Row) Don't know if there's a lot to say here, but I don't really see any reason why somebody would do something other than this: Battle Order: Adam: Merman (Front Row) Erdy: Merman (Back Row) Pretzel: Merman (Front Row)- 892 replies

Not paying attention to the day thread, and not even paying attention to your own words at that. This guy's gotta be a villain! -

Invest your profits where it counts. Store up great treasures by bringing forth all your tithes and offerings. As a coin in my coffer rings, your soul from the flames of purgatory springs. -

Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"No, Erdathcath, weaken him! Why take more damage than necessary when we are only facing one enemy. Let's not put ourselves into a difficult situation for no reason. Of course, it's your choice, but if you don't want to weaken him then hand me the scroll and let me do it instead." I continue with my plan of sealing the Merman and hope that Erdy will change her mind and weaken him or hand me the scroll of weakening.- 892 replies

Yes, but that does not prevent us from seeing who are the scummy slime among us and who are real heroic slime-busters. Death to the villains, unless the convert and kiss the holiest of crosses! -

Accusations are what move us goodie-goodies forward, fishface! Why are you hiding behind a mask anyway? Got something to hide? -

All this rubbish talk is giving me a headache. Speak quietly please, I am attempting to slip sleep under the radar (whatever that is ) and it's difficult to do so, when you're all making idiotic squeals and screams. If you want to hear something noteworthy come here and I'll give you a piece of God's mind and perhaps a wack or two with this holy cross to make you come to your senses. Pretzel anyone? Full mouths can't speak as loudly empty ones, so by all means stuff your mouths, but if you finish my pretzels you will hear about it afterwards. Hmmm, so you admit to being a villain, do you? And your scummy "partner" too, eh? What's with the cat? -
Oops, realized that I never got back to you on this. Yes, I rendered all these images originally in 2560 x 1440 I believe, but posting those on brickshelf is tasking. So for rendering large images like I do and then downsizing them in Photoshop/whatever, it's better to render them without anti-aliasing...or...
