Instead of damage though, he should mix up what he feeds the targeted person, so he poisons an ally or heals an enemy! -
No, he was magically cured of the poison after 1000 rounds of Guts dancing around him. The show finally paid off...but he was left rather weak. Thinking back on the way Kukulkan behaved in that rogue quest didn't seem particularly "Heroica-like", but maybe I just need to reread.

Trouble in the Streets of Gotham: Bloodbath Signup!
Palathadric replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Monk Pretzel has come to fight in the Mafia world. The aged monk having journeyed across the world, helping those in need and living off the coin purses of others, is now ready to save the world, if necessary. Armed with his flying cross and a $100 bill, he is ready to take on anyone. He is learned and has studied many arts. His weakness? That would be that he is weak in general, physically speaking. He is old beyond appearance (which already looks old), and he spends too much time dozing off. Nevertheless, he more than makes up for it, or so he tells himself, by his amazing ability to convert even the most unlikely heathens (yeah, right!). He does have an eye for money though, and his ultimate goal is to receive the tribute of all others. Bribery is something he falls for a little too easily perhaps. -
I too very much enjoyed how some of the new players were some of the more active ones. It was great to watch and nice to see how it is possible to make quests for both advanced classes and Level 1ers, even though, perhaps, not ideal. Very nicely done, Sandy! I think some people could have tried to post more often and for a quest with that many heroes, I was expecting a bunch more pages, but all is well!

Heroica RPG - Quest #42: The Meaning Of It All
Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Nay, lad. Clerics are healers. Clerics serve their God. Clerics are godly men. Alchemists are far from clerics. Alchemy defies the Divine. Clerics on the other hand, always have the Divine in mind, and use His power to perform all of their miracles. It's like the difference between a mage and a cleric. Some people consider them akin, but it is not so. A cleric has power from God to work miracles, a mage studies dark magics to develop his source of power. They claim the use of ether, but ether is a gift of God that no man can give or take away and those who try should be forewarned. Their dealing in such dark arts is an abomination to God!"- 892 replies

Ragnarök Now - Conclusion
Palathadric replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I really do feel bad having killed you, especially after I had just cast the deciding vote against Pandora. At least we won. I guess I should have read up on being a paranoid axe owner, before deciding to keep my role secret, especially since I did know that I had it. I am glad my decision to trust Dragonator was well-founded. Fantastic game, TinyPiesRUs! I don't think Mafia can get much better than this. Your scenes were absolutely fantastic and I enjoyed how the players were quite active althroughout. On day 6 especially we really clocked a lot of posts. I am very glad I signed up for this and that I was accepted. I feel bad for Waterbrick Down who was so active in killing off the scum, but then got converted and died with them. Great kill choices though. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #42: The Meaning Of It All

"Well, I have to say, I wasn't awake for most of the talk with your father. He's a rather rude fellow and kept us waiting outside his house for an eternity. What was I to do? An old man needs his sleep!" I turn to Adam and whisper, "Just between the two of us, I have no idea what we're gathering these items for at all. I know Eric, our former companion was talking about the different places we had to visit and that is how I know where we're going. Apart from that...well, I don't know. Your father does seem a questionable character though. He tried to entice me with his tales of alchemy and the like. I gave him no heed of course, but as I always say, one must never trust an alchemist. You never know what they may start experimenting around with next. One simply cannot be too careful with such people. The places that he requested us to go to and the items he asked us to get don't sit well with me...I don't even know what they're for..."- 892 replies

Read quest #10 recently...well, like a month ago, and liked it a lot. Just wondering, was a follow-up quest planned for discovering the murderer or was it just mentioned for good ol' story telling's sake?

Heroica RPG - Quest #42: The Meaning Of It All
Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"So, from what I recall Eric saying, we had to go to Shelbric to collect some Mythril and then to the "Place Where the Power Trees Grow." I wonder how we will get the Mythril. I doubt we have enough to money to pay for it between the two of us and I certainly hope if we have to buy it, the doctor will pay us back for it apart from giving us the award."- 892 replies

Thanks! How do I add Focal Blur to a rendering? I'm not really that adept a POV-Ray user. I actually rendered the image with a transparent background in POV-Ray and then added the sky in Photoshop. I'm not very adept at Photoshop either.
-
I've been working on some MOCs for a Heroica quest I'm planning, and I wanted to make a model with water, so I was planning on using 5-6 layers of transparent blues for the water. Well, it turns out POV-Ray hates transparency ( ) and I couldn't get the model to render. I knew it would take a long time, but... Finally, I settled for a tryout render: Believe it or not, this render took over 20 hours to run and it's just two layers of transparent blue over a brown 4 x 4. Since I'm posting pictures, I may as well post some other MOCs I've been doing using POV-Ray for you viewing pleasure. Hope you enjoy,

"It seems to be getting late. What do you say we build a campfire while we wait for the bluey glob to reappear with our...um...fellow hero, and we can chat and tell tales of quests gone by. So Adam, the doctor we're working for is your father, eh? Hmmm...interesting."- 892 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #42: The Meaning Of It All
Palathadric replied to Flare's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Not particularly. I have a hard time seeing myself rubbing venom on my cross, but sometimes we must do what we must do. I suggest you take the Magic Viper Skin or give it to Adam since I won't be able to equip it anyway. Is that Snake Eye Charm of yours an artifact. If not, then you can equip all three, if it is then I suggest you give one of them to Adam for the duration of the quest. By all means, take the Grand Tonic, since I don't think you have one. Also, you can give the Grand Potion to Adam as well. We should keep the Venoms for ourselves in my opinion, especially the Paralyzing ones because Adam's inability to switch targets during a fight would render the venoms wasted if we gave them to him. I just saw now how many venoms you have on you. I suppose I shall take the five normal venoms in that case and we can see how we distribute the Paralyzing ones. My suggestion: Adam: Grand Potion Monk Pretzel: Venom (5), Paralyzing Venom (1-2) Erdathcath: Grand Tonic, Magic Viper Skin, Paralyzing Venom (1-2) I don't know who should hold onto the Demon Frog Essence. It's wierd stuff, I tell you. I wouldn't mind storing it in my cart if I weren't so sure that it would defile it. I say don't touch it with a 10-foot long staff."- 892 replies

It's an odd thing, really. I guess everyone is still awestruck by the temple.
-
I love this idea, Etzel. Would you run it as one quest though, as far as sign-ups are concerned, or two separate ones, since, after all, they will be hired by different parties and they will have their separate topics.
-
Good stuff, Chromeknight and Scuba. Though CK, you really should know that your companions haven't really searched the temple at all

The arena has been quiet, at best, lately.
