Technic Pub
Jim replied to jantjeuh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have only seen a couple of episodes and I am not really sure why I haven't continued watching it. But I did like the original movie, so maybe I can give it a go again. Basically, I do like most SciFi stuff, as long as it's not ridiculously bad. -

Yeah of course, was a figure of speech. Yup, agreed! -

Hehe Another C-model contest [TC5.2] down the line is always a good idea. -

Over the years I have been watching less and less TV up to a point that I almost don't watch TV anymore. Well actual broadcast TV that is. I do watch series on Netflix etc before I go to sleep. So if that counts... For the past couple of months I have been watching Star Trek Voyager. In have never finished the entire series and I am now watching the final (7th) series. It's such a relaxing TV show to watch before turning in. When I am done I will probably start with The Next Generation, which is also seven seasons. I love that these series are quite relaxed and not an abundance of action and shooting and stuff. Not that I hate that, but not before I go to sleep hehe. I have never heard of Forces TV, but reading your description, it sounds like something right up my alley Hehe same here Thanks and congratulations to you too. Sometimes life needs a little nudge in another direction. -
[REVIEW] 42082 - Rough Terrain Crane
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I cannot agree with you more. It would have been so cool to get a proper B-model, like the 42055 BWE. Maybe you can get this model and make a C-model to use in the next contest -

Cool. And very bold action to join the contest with this set. Nope. For me that is no downside. The color scheme on the 42055 works great for the ride. And I think people will recognize the 42055 and see that this ride is very unique. So, I think it's not a downside at all. Maybe you can call it the "Bucket Wheel Explorer" to emphasize that it's made with 42055 parts -

A bit late, but welcome to Eurobricks! And I really love your creation. I was (am) wondering myself too. That would even make it more interesting, since it is a genuine C-model. PS I like how you used the extra curved gear racks -

Yup, it’s neutral, yet vibrant. Very nice, orange on blue and vice versa -

Very nice result! I have tried blue as well. It’s definitely a nice alternative to grey! -

I haven't tried it, but I have measured it and I don't think that will work. I think you need another cm or two. But I am not 100% sure. -

Ahhh interesting insights. I will take a look tonight. I do think the outriggers are mounted the way they are shown in the pic. But I will have to check Basically price per weight? That’s not very hard to calculate. But that is generic since that would also include PF etc. Maybe too generic. -
Sariel's 2H2018 Technic reviews
Jim replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I still need to watch Sariel’s review, but I understand he is more critical. I tend to like models quite easily -
The train carriage makes the same annoying sound. That probably has (more or less) the same motor design inside. It's not the battery box, so it has to be the motor.

Technic 2018 Set Discussion

My Flickr albums weren's public. Fixed it. Not that there are many more pictures, but it's nice that the links to the album actually work. -
Chance of course. Missed that. Have you tried the Flickr app? Or just browsing? Try both. Should not be a problem. If it fails I can link later, if I have any.

Hehe. Let’s say we did have PM conversations about pictures. But they are all his own work -
42055 that is That is nice one to put together. Don’t expect too much of the functions though. I find them disappointing.

There is a generic discussion topic for...generic discussion ;) Let’s try to keep the Pub for other (non-LEGO) conversations. -
[REVIEW] 42080 - Forest Machine

Hmmm that's a good question. To be honest, I haven't really tried. It's very hard to be precise, with the resistance. I will need to test with the levers. -

Ahhh I have missed that. Didn't even think about it. Thanks. Yup, some things seem to be exaggerated. Upside, when you are done, you will hardly notice it Well, except for the yellow thin liftarms. You can still those clearly. Black would have been better.
