  1. I highly doubt that it really affects the outcome of the contest. Of course, a good presentation will help, but a lousy build with a killer video won't win the contest. A separate Pro category for contestants who have won a medal in the past is something we can consider for all contests.
  2. And sometimes we do have a raffle prize. That's something I would like to introduce again. By the way; how do you guys feel about different classes/categories?
  3. I agree it will be hard to enforce and it will limit last minute entries, but if we want to see more progress, we need to think about the options. Maybe having a simpler contest next time is the key to success. And clearly stating the prizes might also help too.
  4. Maybe we can do something about it. We need to make the contest a two-stage contest, where it's mandatory to post your discussion/wip topic after four weeks (halfway through the contest). Something like that. I absolutely agree that we run contests to discuss the entries and see some progress, not just the end result. We will definitely do a simpler contest next time. I already have two in mind.
  5. I do think the theme was kinda hard, so I am actually satisfied to have 12 entries. I'd rather have 12 people entering because of the contest, than 24 because of the prizes Of course you are allowed to know what they are. The prizes are LEGO Technic sets, which will be sent out right after the contest has ended. So, no more delays because of third party prize providers.
  6. Voting for the Technic Theme Park Contest has started! Check out the wonderful entries and cast your votes!
  7. TECHNIC THEME PARK CONTEST - VOTING TOPIC Voting will be open for a variable period of time. Closing date will most likely be somewhere between one and two weeks. VOTING RULES AND REGULATIONS Voting scheme uses the old Formula One style point distribution (10, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 POINT) You need to assign 10 points to the 1st place, 6 points to the second and so one. You need to vote for 6 ENTRIES (no more, no less) Clearly mention the ENTRY NUMBER and the NUMBER OF POINTS per entry that you vote on. If you joined Eurobricks after the start of the contest, you can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected) You may NOT vote for your own entry. In the event of a tie for any place the Technic Staff will decide which entry wins. Our decision is final. Questions about voting can be asked in the Discussion Topic. For example (entries randomly chosen): --- comments can be placed above the votes 5: 10 (no comments here please) 6: 6 1: 4 9: 3 7: 2 3: 1 Or comments can be placed below the votes ---- NOTES Please use this exact notation NUMBER: VOTES (with a colon). Please don't type #1:10, 1 = 10 or 1) 10 or other notations. Stick to the example format shown above. Please use this thread only for voting. You may explain why you made your choice, but any general discussion should take place in the Discussion Topic. Comments should be placed ABOVE or BELOW the votes. Please don't comment on the same line as the votes. VOTING Voting scheme will be 50-50, so member votes count for 50% and jury votes count for 50%. Voting criteria are (in no particular order): Originality. Looks (shape, color scheme etc). Quality of the build. Functionality. ENTRIES All entries can be found in the entry thread: Please visit the entry topic to see all entries. 1. 3D Dizzy by shadow_elenter 2. Explorer by m00se 3. Drop Tower by tkel86 4. 8. Hey, I won't be "that guy", but I do like to mention that adding the cart board elements to your ride, does feel like cheating. Technically only non-LEGO elements can be used to contain or transfer water. You are basically hiding part of the mechanics to make it look better and to create ground level for the entrance. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, since contests are for fun, but I am not too happy with it.
  9. You just got an extra week. Don’t push it And you basically answered your own question.
  10. There is no need to add WIP or MOC or whatever, just TCxx. And we keep it that way forever ?
  11. It’s not a WIP topic, but a discussion topic. And we do need one, as stated in the entry rules. And as explained my @shadow_elenter
  12. Let me ask you one very simple question.....which one do you like better? And answer me instantly without overthinking it.
  13. You will regret not getting the Porsche later. You probably won't regret not getting the BWE. That's my take on it
  14. Actually, with the new job I am having some time issues myself. I will add a couple of days to make my own life easier as well This means I will wrap things up on Saturday, so you all have at least till Friday
  15. I’m all in favor of a good discussion, but things tend to go south, and reports need to be handled. But I will keep it open for now
  16. This one! (better model altogether)
  17. I haven't gone through every post, so I don't know exactly what to do. But I am inclined to close this topic. Unless you guys want to discuss this matter further.
  18. Hi Robert. During the Fan Media Days I get to interview some designers, so yes, that is possible. But it takes a lot of time to transcribe :(
