  1. Hi @Yonnix, Welcome to EB! The 42079 is a very interesting set, for a small set. It packs a lot of nice functions, and has a decent B-model. You can read my review tomorrow. I am very enthusiastic about it. The 42055....well....there seem to be two camps. The ones who thinks it's a great set and the ones who think the build is okay, but the functions don't work good enough. I am in the second group. I appreciate what TLG has tried to do, but operating the BWE sucks, plain and simple. Unless you love BWE's, I'd go for the 42082, which is a great set. You can read all about it tomorrow too As always....YMMV!
  2. Hehe. What I like are simple things....the yellow line you have created. I like details like that.
  3. RRP (as TLG calls it nowadays, Recommended Retail Price) is a recommended price for retail. The prices we see are mostly online stores or retailers with some sort of discount/offer. But you are right that one should basically never have to pay RRP.
  4. Not sure if it's useful for everybody, but it still seems to be available: https://www.stonewars.de/angebote/lego-42082-technic-rough-terrain-crane/
  5. Being able to rotate the crane when it's not engaged is actually quite convenient. Especially when your batteries are dead.
  6. Take 4 is freaking awesome! I love the red flex axles as wheel arches.
  7. I know. But Legoland is not owned by LEGO, so it's not released by TLG themselves. They have struck a deal to release the set early.
  8. Hehe sounds like a plan. I will copy all the pages from the discussion topic and add some photo's
  9. That sums it up nicely! I cannot agree more. I will copy and paste it into my summary And it is already available for 170 euro, which is an absolute steal if you ask me. Hmmm when I click the link the price says 189 euro (which is still a great price though) You need to apply for the newsletter and you will get a 10% discount. But it doesn't seem to be available anymore.
  10. Obviously, the number of pages is depending on the number of unique pieces. More unique pieces means more pages. It's that simple. The actual question is whether TLG deliberately has reduced the number of unique pieces in the 42082. I think there is some correlation between the price of a set and the number of unique pieces (regarding packaging etc), but I am not totally sure.
  11. You claim that others have a problem with differing opinions, yet you find someone else's opinion "absolutely ridiculous". That's odd and contradictory, and it's one the reasons discussions become pathetic, like you mention in your own post. Just sayin'. The embargo is set by one department in TLG, while another one probably struck a deal with certain retailers. It's strange, I agree. There is a lot of discussion about it on the LEGO Ambassador Network. We hope that this setup will change in the future. I am definitely with you on this one. There is a tendency of negativity on social media. If 99 of the 100 things are okay, people still like to bash the one thing that is not (or less) okay. I am definitely not such a person. That's probably the reason why I am seldomly very negative in a review. I take things the way they are. So the boom doesn't go horizontally. Why should that bother me? There's a ton of fun building in this model, several linked gearboxes (which we are always screaming for), etc. This results in some slack, yes it does. But if TLG released a version with six motors without slack, people would be complaining that the model is too simple (42030 anyone?). Of course, every person is entitled to his or her opinion and for some/most people 200 euro is a lot of money. So, you can expect something of 200 euro product, but I do feel that people need to adjust their expectations. It is not the real thing, it's a plastic toy representation of the real thing. Sorry if I'm kinda steering this discussion in the wrong direction again, but I did feel the need to answer.
  12. Wise words! Even though most Technic sets are for teenagers, my nephews (5 and 7) still like to play with them.
  13. I missed Magical Duck's image btw, sorry.
  14. That’s called compromise. Inevitable indeed. Unless you add a bag of motors. I don’t think it’s that bad btw. Some backlash and slow outriggers, but other than that it’s quite playable and functions work properly.
  15. The double wheeled versions usually carry containers (I guess), which are much wider than this pallet. Something like this: Although the wheels are still within the bodywork
  16. Hehe. Or slightly faster motorized ones They are slow, but I think they do beat the 42009 (not sure). I don’t mind them being slow, since the rest of the functions work properly and you only deploy the outtiggers once. Although I would have loved slightly faster versions.
  17. Thanks! All the information is already available, but at least you will get some nice pictures
  18. Lucky for me, I won't do a video, because I wouldn't have had enough time to shoot the outriggers before the 1st of August
  19. Absolutely! He does have at least one of those hehe
  20. The 4 Cylinder inline engine is something TLG could have done in the first place. Would be a nice change, to the omni-present-V6. I still need to build mine. Maybe I will go for Full-RC with some MODs. It looks like a very nice set to do some MODding. Btw, why is there even a second chair? Ahh wait, Rally Cars often have the "Co-pilot". Hard left, medium right, crest ahead...
  21. Welcome to Eurobricks!! Nice to have you on board. If you go about this way, you need to subtract the grey panels from the 42082 as well ;-) But the dump truck will definitely have more parts than the grey panels. The 42035 - Mining Truck set has 362 parts.
  22. I have turned this into a Mods and Improvement topic, since we didn't have one (or I haven't been able to find it).
  23. Hehe He used the same setup, so I can understand why you were confused. PS I like your MODs. A MOC is My Own Creation, so that's when you come up with something yourself. A MOD is the modification of an existing set.
