This answers why it's a cool model The 42043 sure is by far a better model, no doubt. It has a lot of interesting Technic functions to build. And when you are finished they kinda work, if you know how to operate them So, it indeed boils down to playability vs buildability
-
Both great models, so it kinda depends on your personal needs and preferences. I think you are the only one being able to answer this question. I have done reviews for both, so if you need any info, check them out. Can you think out loud (post here) what you are considering? Which arguments etc.

The US price is 139 dollar. 12 cents a piece. In euro is 119, 10 cents a piece. -

That's indeed easier than the other way around I like numbered bags too. If only it were to speed things up during a review. -

Thanks you sir The 42053 must be a very good wine then hehe. I do have the set partially built and not thrown in with the rest of my stuff. So, I could.... -
Here are my two cents. I am not a big fan of the Mack Anthem. It's a nice set, fun to build, but for me it's just not the real deal. I bought it because I could get it at a very nice price, otherwise I would most likely have skipped it. The trailer is so so. If you are into modding, you can build a custom trailer and it will make a nice display piece. As it is, I wouldn't put in on the shelf. You do need to get the Porsche...period. Even though I wasn't very enthusiastic about this set in my review, I do think it's a unique set. Get it! BWE...mehhhhh (for me). Functions don't work that well. It's fun to build and it's unique. If you are interested in BWE's get it. If you expect a Technic with great functionality, skip it. 42082 is a great set, no doubt about it. But it hasn't even been officially released yet, so it will be around for three more years or so. I haven't built the Jet Racer yet (I still have in box), but I don't think it's better than the Claas. It should be better than the Ocean Explorer though, since that is just a simple ship made of Technic parts. When still in doubt....get the oldest set first, because that is about to be retiring before the others.

42079 - Heavy Duty Forklift
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ahhh yes. I see what you mean. That's weird. -
At the time of that review, the sets were sent to a single address. We do get that a lot with offers (providing a single address). However, the rules have changed a bit. I think we can send the sets to multiple addresses now.

What am I missing? I haven't built the B-model myself, so I have missed this mistake (?) I am looking at my picture of the chassis and I am probably overlooking the mistake. -
Hehe yes, I have. Well, partially. I have built it with a buddy. I received the review set, but Blakbird did the review. He purchased the set, and I reimbursed him. That was to speed things up. Otherwise I had to send the set to the US. So I built the original review set with my friend. And a while ago I purchased a second copy, because I could use the 5x7 frames and the price was very reasonable. I absolutely agree that this is a unique set which we will likely NEVER EVER see again.

Absolutely! -
Even though I am not a big fan of the 42055 and the 42082 operates MUCH better, I still agree with @Ngoc Nguyen. If you are remotely interested in this set, get it while you can. I will be merging this topic with the general "Which set to buy" topic.

I still have your questions: How many push does it take for the crane arm to raise. - How long can the crane arm stays erected after the hand pump has been pushed. I mean, there's no air tank to maintain the internal pressure, so at some point the crane arm will fall. And these measurements 35,0 cm x 37,2 cm x 8,8 cm 1733 gr -

Completed all four model last weekend. Have shot most of the pictures, besides the 42082, which poses a challenge. I probably need to work some Photoshop skills or something I'd say 2018 has a pretty decent line-up My attempt to keep up with the written part failed again. The upside is that I did complete all the intro's etc. So I only need to cover the builds. With a couple of days off before the 1st of August I am confident all reviews will be online the 1st. -

It must be 42 For me red was indeed for special connecting points. But nowadays TLG simply uses a single color for all of them. Edit: the Crane does have them in black too btw.- 1,224 replies
