  1. I definitely agree with you on this one. Most of the time it's too cumbersome to operate them. This is exactly why it will be difficult without too much modifications. Maybe rebuild the chassis a bit.
  2. The set is big, but that's more because of the bucket and wheels. The chassis isn't that big. And maybe it's because the Forest Machine and Rough Terrain Crane are motorised too. Another reason could be that Volvo has a say in it. That's not unlikely either. I know the 42030 was motorised too, but this being Autonomous might make a difference. If a set has motors, we want it to be manual. When it's manual we want motors. I'm more than okay with it too. Although I admit, it IS a cool vehicle to operate with full RC. But you will need to cram all the PF elements from the 42030 in this chassis.
  3. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Would be cool to EV3-ify this model. But it would be a real challenge. I would be very cool to see someone motorizing it. But I don't think it looks unfinished without it. Anyway, I won't disclose any further info or opinions before the 1st of August.
  4. That would make sense I will have some pictures of it, yes.
  5. Well, if it were fully motorized, it would have been remotely controlled. And being an Autonomous Vehicle, that wouldn't have much sense either. Either way, I don't care. I simply love it and I will definitely buy another copy to build the B-model.
  6. I just finished building this bad boy and I'm in love
  7. To be honest; I forgot to measure the lifting height and now I have the B-model assembled
  8. Cool, thanks. I will trust you on this one! If you can make a topic for your contest ride, that would be a great way to convince the other contestants you are working on something new
  9. That is a difficult issue. There is no way for us to verify that you started this ride for this contest. Did you create a topic for the ride? Can you post it here?
  10. Ahhh I see. No that's not necessary, you are more than welcome to join!!
  11. Hi. Welcome to EB. To enter the contest you need two things. First you need to create your own topic, with a title starting with [TC14], so for example "[TC14] My Soopadoopa Ride". In this topic you will post your progress. When you are done, you need to make an entry (single post) in the entry topic. The entry topic will be opened later. I am not sure what you mean by "be a member for the entire duration of the contest". You are already a member, so you will stay a member...for life :D Looking forward to seeing your progress/entry. Be aware; it has to be a new creation. Not a creation you already posted somewhere on the interwebs or have shown at events.
  12. Exactly. That was more or less what I was thinking of.
  13. I do like the exhaust for steering, but like mentioned before; it's reversed. And it's directly attached to the rack. I'd rather have some gears in between to reduce and inverse the mechanism.
  14. Are you aware that there's a rotate function on your phone?
  15. Yup, but then the quote will be under your answer. (like this)
  16. You can't. Save your post. After that quote the post you want to quote, and then you need to edit to put the quote above your post. Bit cumbersome, but it works.
  17. Please don't quote the entire post with images. Thanks.
  18. Want to see a cool MOC? Or actually two MOCs? Check out this topic.
  19. That's not what he said. He said it's not MUCH dark blue. As in the quantity of dark blue parts.
  20. Nice work on the review @Ecclesiastes! Having seen this model in Billund earlier this year, I was thoroughly impressed. By its size, but also by how it's built. Not a life long fan, but like you I like the old stuff from back in the days. The box really has that eighties vibe going on. I will buy this set for sure!
  21. It is a very nice set, don't get me wrong
  22. Hehe Depends on which parts you need
