  1. I am proud to announce our new Mindstorms and Robotics forum. A dedicated forum is something I have been thinking about for years. We always figured there wasn't enough activity on Eurobricks to warrant such a forum. However, recently I have been actively using my Mindstorms EV3 units again and I realized that information is scattered over the Interwebs and lots of boards aren't active anymore. That's why I bit the bullet and opened this new forum. The new forum is not only about Mindstorms, but also about programmable LEGO like Boost and WeDo and LEGO Robotics in general. We are still working hard on updating the (outdated) indices, so the forum still needs to evolve, but you are welcome to show your Mindstorms/Robotics creations or pose your question. We hope you enjoy it!
  2. No thanks. Funny thing is that my wish to have such a forum got me involved into Eurobrick quite a few years ago. Maybe we should have done this way sooner, but better late than never. I was having some issues finding the proper information, so I figured having an active forum with proper indices will definitely be helpful.
  3. As you might have noticed, the name "Mindstorms" isn't in the Technic forum title anymore. This is because we have created a separate Mindstorms and Robotics forum. For now this forum will focus on Mindstorms, Programmable LEGO (like Boost and WeDo) and LEGO Robotics in general. Discussion about Arduino (and similar stuff) is definitely allowed, if it has to do with creating a LEGO robot. We will not discuss other robotic platforms (maybe a bit, but it will definitely be a LEGO forum). I am not really sure whether to move Power Functions, Powered Up etc to the new forum as well.
  4. Last week I made some progress building the base of the robot. Even up to the point that I can start programming it. I am very happy with this design, since it is very sturdy by nature. I haven't done much bracing and I can already pick it up using a single hand. I am currently in the midst of doing some programming and I need to overcome some challenges and make some decisions. I my next post I will address these issues. My baby's first movement
  5. Hi all, A while ago I purchased the EV3Lights Led Controller by Mindsensors. The contoller is powered by a 12V adapter and it plugs into one of the sensor ports of the Mindstorms EV3 brick. To control the strip you need to download an EV3 Block and you are good to go. They even have sample program, which worked instantly! Christmas will never be the same!
  6. Shorty is....not so shortly. But I have been able to test the PFx Brick today. I am very impressed with the ease of use, of both the brick and the software. I got things up-and-running in no time, without strange quirks or anything. I have both speakers and the sound is absolutely phenomenal. The smaller one is perfectly suited for most scenarios, but the big one produces quite a volume. When I tested it for the first time, I thought the sound was coming from my computer. Then I realized it was the speaker. All in all very pleased with the brick. Now I will be hooking it up to my EV3 unit, which I will report in a separate topic.

  11. SCOPE This forum is about: LEGO Mindstorms (RCX, NXT, EV3) Programmable LEGO (Boost, ...) Open source electronics platforms (Raspberry Pi, BrickPi, Arduino, etc) While Raspberry and other open source electronics platforms are definitely allowed here, we like to focus on building LEGO robots with these technologies. It's still a LEGO forum after all
  12. I am in favor of allowing third party electronics like Arduino in this forum, thus I have renamed it Mindstorms and Robotics for now
  13. I am happy to announce the new Mindstorms forum. I am still pondering over the scope of the forum, but it's likely that the new forum will also be used for Power Function, Powered Up, Boost, etc. If you guys think that doesn't make sense, let me know. Another option would be to limit the new forum to Mindstorms and Robotics in General. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/186-lego-mindstorms-programmablepowered-lego-and-electronics/
  14. Post links to your Mindstorms topic here and I will move them.
  15. LEGO MINDSTORMS AND ROBOTICS INDEX Welcome to the LEGO Mindstorms and Robotics forum on EuroBricks. We hope you have a great time here. Feel free to take a look around and if you have any questions, you can always PM me or one of the other staff members. This forum is a work/concept in progress. For years I have been thinking about a dedicated forum for Mindstorms (and Robotics in general). I always assumed that Eurobricks didn't have enough traffic to warrant such a forum, but since lots of sources for Mindstorms information seem to be dead, I think this forum might be useful for lots of people. I hope you enjoy this new forum! With kind regards, Jim Technic Admin TABLE OF CONTENTS Scope of the forum Useful topics Useful links to external resources Proofs of Concept
  16. Exactly! I’m thinking forum, instead of subforum, to improve visibility.
  17. I have discussed this with other staffers and they are okay with a separate Mindstorms forum, if I feel there is a need
  18. Hehe...yes!!! I reckon more people will be happy with that.
  19. Maybe it’s my wishful thinking, but isn’t it likely to have this color scheme?! I see this has been discussed in previous posts, sorry. I do love the colors.
  20. Besides SBrick and Buwizz, this is being discussed at the moment: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/167699-cada-battery-with-4-motor-outputs-and-remote-control/ And I think we have general discussion topic about third party controllers....somewhere.
  21. I am not sure if you can pair a controller to two devices simultaneously. All I know is on the product page. That's the brilliance of Chinese products
  22. I am not sure what you are asking? Connecting CADA to Buwizz? The battery unit is not a Buwizz. It just looks like one.
