  1. ^It is the same as series 12. They use the same code for all minifigures. I had them look them up at my store, and only brought me more series 12...They are definitely overflowing with them, probably not a good seller for stockings like they expected... I have found them once so far and they were picked clean by the time I found them. I'm guessing, they are a popular series OR they are just not getting that many shipments in. Definitely hurts with that price tag. ^It is the same as series 12. They use the same code for all minifigures. 2. I try to save them up, but sometimes I'll just use them on large purchases to bring down the cost. I picked up the Tower Bridge a few years ago for 60% off that way. It made me feel better about the purchase, even though it was still a lot of money. Lately, I've used it on smaller sets for my daughter. And then some PAB orders. Yes, it is more expensive than bricklink, but it was "free." It seemed reasonable at the time. I considered buying Mos Eisley Cantina since I have enough to get it free, but I really only want the dewback and Greedo, so seems pointless...who knows.
  3. Definitely new colors would be great...outside of the Modular line. I'm talking official sealed sets like this, but with more variety in color. LEGO was not thinking discontinuing BLUE with a brand new PIRATES line coming out in a few months. No one would possibly want water for their layouts... The bright green took me by surprise when I saw them at Target. Definitely not working for me. I much prefer the regular green. Tan, I'm okay with. Although not at that price. You can basically buy a small set for the same price as a baseplate. I'd rather get the pieces/figures than just a blank slate to put nothing on since I spent all of my money on the plate...
  4. Pictures are always a good idea. I've seen some people complain of "broken" pieces, and in the picture it was actually just part of how it was molded. But again, this is certainly possible, but rare I'm sure. LEGO's quality control does have some issues. I've had my share of problem sets, but not to this degree. With that said, I'm sure your account has been flagged. I'm sure mine has been too. I've requested replacement licensed parts before (Iron Man legs were all broken thanks to the polycarbonate tubes on the bottom) and they made me jump through some hoops to get them replaced. I understand license agreements may limit certain things, but if you are going to not replace them like you claim to, you might want to not deal with so many licenses.. Similar situation about the Ghostbusters book. They wouldn't talk to me about it. They needed the number in the back of the instruction manual AND the receipt faxed to them. I of course didn't have the receipt since it was a gift and the number I gave them from the manual they claimed wasn't correct...odd since I was looking at the exact manual... I'm glad so many people have such good luck with their customer service, but mine has been spotty at best.
  5. I've read it is due to returns. They put a lower price on it, so if someone was to return it, they wouldn't get as much money back AND then they would sell it for less to move it quicker since it was a EOL set. No idea if that is legit, just what I've read on brickset forums. I don't know the actual details, but I've never known anyone to physically purchase any of the sets at those weird prices.
  6. I like the variance in height. I also like the variance in colors. It definitely breaks it up. However, I think it all depends on the angle you look at them. That first image above showing the full street, DO looks TINY compared to the FB. The blue building height looks good. But in the second picture above at a different angle, it doesn't look as bad next to FB. I don't own it currently, and probably won't get it until Christmas at the earliest, so we'll see what I think of it then. But as it stands, definitely seems a bit small at least for a city row. But I like having variable heights. Maybe I'll just not have it next to anything really tall and it will look okay. Same goes for PR.
  7. Good luck everyone. 6. Athos - 1 10. 6kyubi6 - 1 11. jaredchan - 1 22. Emma - 1 23. Cm4Sci - 1
  8. I'm just now seeing this. But this is great. I love the details. The colors play off each other well. Very nicely done. Good luck.
  9. Ridiculous. Very clever. I like how you represented the different types of houses.
  10. Very clever build techniques here. I am liking your Asian styles.
  11. It is interesting how all targets are different. Mine had brainiac, manta, and darkseid but no others. $25, $50, $60 respectively.
  12. Parisian Restaurant, Palace Cinema, Benny's SSS, AT-AT, Simpson's House, Santa's Winter Village, and LUGbulk order. My daughter cleaned up too. She got Elsa's Ice Palace, Eiffel Tower, and Research Institute. (she's 5) Should be good all around.
  13. That polybag looks awesome. I will hopefully pick one up when they are released. Granted, I also want an Electro polybag and haven't heard anything else about him...
  14. Very clever. I would never imagine I would see them in LEGO form.
  15. I like it. I haven't really been into the arch series, but this impressed me. It helps that I live in Lincoln probably. My wife just went to Seattle and bought me the space needle. I have the Brandenburg gate as a parts pack. We bought my daughter Eiffel tower, since she loves it so much. This will be my next purchase for display for sure.
  16. Oh well. I was only out some time to make and post my build, so no real loss. Congrats to the winners.
  17. Definitely the trend. Probably going to capture more fans instead of just AFOLs. Main problem is price going up, but smaller scale buildings.
  18. ^ I feel you. It is painful looking every day and not winning. I guess I'll see what happens the next few days. But I'm used to not winning things. My LUG has a raffle of the sdcc figures for $5. Naturally I didn't win any of them either
  19. Why are they releasing a summer wave too? I always welcome more Batman and these have potential, but this seems like too many sets being released at once. They will be flooding the market soon enough. No one can afford every set they want at this pace.
  20. want you to get disqualified. This is a neat idea. Although now I will have some competition... It isn't yellow but this head may work.
  21. I hate to be that guy and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Abe Lincoln's stovetop hat? The rules say no sculpting/modifying parts... Otherwise, the set looks good. I like the decals. I like the idea of the whole scenario. It seems fitting. Best of luck.
  22. Clever idea. As blocky as the storage units are, it fits quite well. Keep up the good work.
  23. My five year old daughter gets frustrated at times too, but same situation. She pushes too hard when holding on it. Frustration is easy with LEGO. I still get frustrated with certain pieces. Most sets fall apart I've noticed. I don't think it is a toy you can really play with, unfortunately. I think to design it in a way for kids to put together, they had to take some of the durability out of it. Plus the clutch power just isn't there anymore.
  24. I had no idea Spiderman was in Italian Job..interesting. I should rewatch that sometime. Did anyone see the original? It sadly was not as entertaining to me, but Michael Caine did a good job. The bus scene was weird.
  25. I'm interested in seeing how the Anna cape fits on a regular figure. It looks longer to accommodate the taller figure. But I like the wrap around the neck area.
