Definitely looks much better in these pictures then the box art or other images I've seen. The hull actually looks complete! Doesn't look stubby at all. Brilliant. I can't wait to get mine!

I will be getting both of them for Christmas, so I'm all set. If I wasn't, it would be a difficult choice for sure. Even though they are similar in size, the QAR seems bigger and definitely meaner looking. Granted, I haven't seen the movie so I don't know how closely it resembles, but I would much prefer (and plan) to change the bones and skulls to something more realistic looking. Still keep the detail but make changes. If that is all said and done, then I would probably choose the QAR. But as it stands, I'd take the Pearl just because of the subtlety of the black on black with a few details thrown in. I don't like the unfinished hull though.

Ogre My thoughts exactly. I highly doubt a company that wants to make money would make such a huge mistake and switch a figure at the last second. It takes time to design anything, let alone produce it.

Very interesting MOC. The overall build is nice. I very much liked the story with the little twist at the end. I was also asking myself what happened next.

For the price of a set vs price of those individual animals on bricklink, you probably could buy another set and make use of those extra pieces plus the animals. I like the way you think!

I agree, I think they are doing some of these sets to get new people interested in the sets, then will release others in the future. Same thing happened with Harry Potter last fall. They re-released a lot of sets to get people like me interested since I missed the earlier versions and then when they came out with Diagon Alley and the next summer wave, I was hooked. Plus it helps that the newer sets were a lot better than the previous versions. However, the new Batman sets aren't super exciting at the moment. I will wait and see the actual box art in my hands before I make any other judgments, but I'd hate to say I may pass on a lot of these compared to my initial excitement. Time flies by, so they will be here before any of us know it.

Thank you for showing the link. That really helps to see this ship. I planned on getting it anyway, but now that I see it "in person" I want it more. The back does look odd being built instead of with a hull, but oh well. I like the color scheme a lot. I think I am going to use the black bird from King Mountain Fortress for the statue to hold instead of the quill. But I'll wait and see in person.

It has been a while indeed. I do like the updated army. I much prefer the uniformity/clone-ness when coming to sizable forces.

Lions are perceived to be more noble than a dragon. But the lions by themselves I can definitely see them being more cunning and "evil" as you put it in another setting away from kingdoms. Nicely done.

Nice job! I've been wanting an Armada Flagship. Perhaps I will keep my eye out for one. I thought I had an older Imperial Flagship, but I guess I don't. So I will keep my eye out for that one as well. And I purchased POTC Fountain of Youth last night for the Barbossa torso. Looks magnificent! I changed Blackbeard to yellow to command the new QAR come Christmas-time.

Very interesting MOC. Very colorful. It seems to fit right in with what I would imagine a visit would look like. I love that Commodore torso too! Nice cape. I thought about putting one of the new scabbards to hold the cutlass, but that might be too bulky with the epaulettes. I like the way you have him holding it because you can't really tell it isn't in a scabbard until you look closely. Nice work!

I just read the offical re-release of the set. But I ordered it over a month ago now, so I don't know why the statement was later than that. But I thought I should get it before it goes away again since I missed it the first time. Then it makes me think I should get the bakery also this year before it goes away too!

You got a steal of a deal on that first auction of the forestmen. The forest-woman alone costs a lot due to rarity. I'd say the savings you found on that deal covered the overbidding on the second auction. Unless you plan on using all those other characters for something, I would say it wasn't worth it. Now, counting the number of figures, yes it was a good deal, but the quality of the figures depending on what you are planning on doing with them may sway the cost over value. Good cost and even better value on the first auction, good cost and worse value on the second. My opinion only. I am no expert, but I do look at figures on bricklink almost daily so I can guesstimate most prices. I should start looking on ebay more for figure lots. I have noticed most things on ebay are way overpriced compared to bricklink, but you clearly got a better deal than expected. Way to go!

She doesn't have to win the daughter's hand in marriage, just win to show that women are equals. To me, it sounds like a movie plot, which I probably saw a long time ago. Wait, maybe Lord of the Rings at the end? But I agree, I doubt they would do that. And with these preliminary shots, they show they'd rather reuse old bodies that clash instead of a new torso. I am still excited for this set.

I would be willing to get some of these just for the sake of different flags or torsos. Obviously the themes all run together, so no consistency there. But my biggest worry would be quality. I have some early 90's megabloks and they look and stick like real lego. Then I have some later 90's version and they hardly hold together at all.

It's great getting more royalty and peasants and whatnot other than just military, but I wouldn't say we need three different sets with the king. It should be more like Harry Potter with only one set with Dumbledore and the other teachers. Granted, I wouldn't say the king and Dumbledore are on the same level, but this king isn't necessarily needed. I suppose it would be better if they didn't have the king in the carriage ambush set and had a different royal there maybe. I like the idea of getting two sets (mostly for the knights/horse barding), but then as previously stated, I would have 4 lion kings and 3 queens. That sounds silly.

It is more plausible to me that whomever built this put the cape on the king instead of the other royal like it is supposed to be. The torso of the king doesn't show he should have a cape, but the other noble's does. Just a thought. I like the dragon knight disguise idea, but I also prefer having a new black knight and maybe introducing a new faction. OR just as easily, as previously mentioned, a stand alone black knight that heard of a contest and thought he would enter for the sake of competition. OR they will blow us all away and the black knight will actually be a female behind that helmet! Sounds like a nice film concept, eh?

Let me clear something up, I am glad we are NOT getting just another dragon knight simply because you can buy multiple of that knight in a cheap set. I am really excited for seeing this new Falcon knight. I just wish it had a different under-armor uniform. And I am excited for getting another Lion knight since I only have one of those. I do agree that another color would have worked better, be it white, blue, or the newly mentioned purple. All of those would be something new. I like that idea of purple/gold. But as it stands, I really like the dark green/black flag combination. But I don't like reusing dark green so soon since dragon knights are still present. But to state that means no other faction could ever have a similar color, when I'm sure in reality many factions would have similar coloring just like many countries have similar colors on their flags. I don't own any Crown knights so I wouldn't think of them when I see dark blue plume for the Falcons. But I may have to buy a Crown barding and have a large joust competition. I have the original crusader barding and both black knight bardings, so it would be quite the tournament. And I am not disappointed at all with what you get in the stand alone picture vs the two back-to-back. They both look great.

I like the new triangle shield, but a larger oval shield would be neat to see too. Especially since we don't have any from the years past. But you do get 3 new triangle shields so that is really awesome in itself.
