  1. I am in love with every single one of those GI Joe figures. Between Lego and Joe were my two most favorite toys as a kid..and you've combined them!!!! OMGoodness indeed. I feel like a little schoolgirl... My very next favorite as a child (late 80s/early90s) was Thundercats. I've seen some renditions in lego simulator, but none really as actual figures. And since there is a resurgence in Thundercats with the newer version cartoon, that'd be neat to see. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see more!
  2. Those look great so far! I can't wait to see more. I am especially a fan of the nazgul.
  3. Not in the Lego world. There are more than enough police to handle all of the violence
  4. I don't care about Superman, but at this price point with those two figures, I will definitely be getting this set. The mech does look pretty cool (but I've never dealt with a mech before, so I don't have any previous qualms). Bring on the Super Heroes!
  5. Or is it because you are in the middle of the midwest that everything is still available?? I live in Nebraska, and there is not much around here, so not too many people buying up all the legos. I am quite pleased. I haven't been to TRU in a few months, but I think we are going tonight to look over the stock for me and Duplo for the little one.
  6. 5) Cat Burglar (Build by Darkblane) 1 point 16) Access to Batcave via Batpoles (Build by GV357) 1 point 20) Joker's Funhouse (Build by Oky) 1 point
  7. 15) Battle Atop Gotham Central (Build by battle_gorilla) 1 point 13) Arkham City (Build by sok117) 1 point 11) The Dark knight! (Build by Skrytsson) 1 point
  8. Interesting build. Nicely done. My most favorite part is the marshmallow scene. I'd almost put a dark brown 1x1 round plate instead of the white (to make it look like it is getting nicely burnt). Although that might look like something else altogether in lego form. Haha. Keep up the good work. Good luck in the contest.
  9. I love the design of the building. I love the carriage (a lot). I really love the interior furniture and decor. I did just watch A Christmas Carol last night, so I am probably still digging on the time period from that. This feels realistic from what I know. Keep up the good work.
  10. I really like the detailing of this building. It isn't too over the top, but it isn't plain/basic either. The color scheme works well too. I also have many, many white bricks that are discolored. I have yet to try to clean them, but I plan to in the future. I have not tried toothpaste. I do agree they add some character, but it depends on the look you are going for. Too much "character" from the discoloration will look like the building itself is in need of some TLC (and I don't mean the lego company)...well, actually it could work with that meaning too. Keep up the good work.
  11. Whether or not the roof is over the top, I still like it. It adds a lot of great detail to the building. And I'm sure in some historic downtowns, some buildings will stand out a bit more than others. I know ours does here. But I really enjoy what you did with the build. The yellow looks good with the gray and it fits nicely with the other buildings. Keep up the good work.
  12. Interesting stables to begin with. Then a HUGE transformation at the end. Definitely is grander in scale and decoration. I'm not too familiar with stables, but it seems like a rather large building for just a few horses. But I like the rest of the building's uses. Keep up the good work.
  13. It is definitely more than just a watchtower. With that said, my favorite part IS the tower. The roof and shape especially. But I do like the entire build with the "stone" work and detailing.
  14. I originally wanted multiples of the minotaur (and I still do to some degree), but my overall favorite is the butcher oddly enough. I don't know why. The sideburns, the knife, the piece of steak, the printed apron..so many great features on that guy. I'm a castle army builder, so it's funny that I would like a town inspired figure so much. Oh well. Great series overall! I will definitely buy many of these.
  15. That may be true for the familiarity of the movie characters, but there would also be plenty of people not buying the PotC sets due to slightly higher costs because they simply want pirates sets. And then of course, there is another group that would buy both to add on some more play value. Sure "fleshies" and standard yellow wouldn't co-exist as easily, but I've seen people make it work. I do agree that too much competition within the same group may cause sales to drop a bit, but just having too many sets available at any given time may cause sales to drop due to variety. The shelves at Wal-Mart here are bare here, which may lead some people do buy other stuff they normally wouldn't since it is what is available. I can see both sides of the "argument," so that is probably why I am not doing their marketing. As far as LOTR goes, I wouldn't expect castle and LOTR running concurrently anyway, even if you forget the above notes about sales dropping.
  16. The Burrow is what re-ignited my love for Lego. I was in a dark age for about 16 years until I saw the new line of HP legos and The Burrow was the first to get before it sold out everywhere here last Christmas.
  17. Very interesting MOC. Great scale. Great builds. It reminds me what it would really look like.
  18. Clever idea. I don't have this set, but it seems like a plausible solution. Since I don't have the set, I don't know how it looks all put together, but wouldn't there be room for an elevator towards the bottom of the picture? Is that where the stairs are located? Who needs fire safety in Legoworld.
  19. I loved Ice Planet, but Blacktron II was my favorite. I should dig all those sets back up and rebuild them, just for old time's sake.
  20. They aren't going to last if you keep buying them! I don't have the funds, but I definitely want to get one soon!!
  21. def Great artwork, great comics. Moral of the story: Don't help strangers. You will just get stuck babysitting their kids. I also really like the culture shock comic.
  22. Those renditions are awesome. I am also a child of the 80s and love(d) Transformers, TMNT, GI Joe, and of course legos. The GI Joe figures look especially awesome. And that Shredder Welcome aboard. This is a great site for all things lego. Keep up the good work.
  23. Glad to see you are starting to post. This site definitely is a great source for all things lego. The MOCs and building techniques plus release dates and upcoming releases are all a must see.
  24. I originally wanted multiples of the minotaur, but now I'm not so sure. I still want one for sure, but that highlander detailing is definitely better than expected. Hmm, who to army build of, that is the question. This series looks like the best so far (in my opinion).
  25. I just saw these cases for the first time yesterday afternoon on this forum and then last night I saw the cases for sale at Wal-Mart (never having seen them before either). Very peculiar indeed. Although I do think I want to pick some up now the more I think about it. And not just for the CMFs. Maybe I'll display all of my favorite figures all around the house. Who needs to paint the walls when you can add color with minifigures!
