LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

QT-KT looks fine (though a bit too vibrant a shade of pink, as others have pointed out), but unlike R2-KT, she is not a must-have figure for me. Now that Minifigs from her set are starting to leak, I wonder when we will find out what it actually is! -

I see this as similar to shops keeping bags locked behind the counter, though. The ability to feel the contents of the old bags did not cause a substantial loss in sales, so I doubt that the ability to scan boxes will either.- 686 replies

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The BDP Series 5 sets will be announced in August (but produced much later), while the next Ideas review period begins in September (so we should get the current review period results around that time); if LEGO announces both a BDP Wolfpack set and an Ideas Wolfpack set, more people will pass on the BDP one, since they can wait about the same amount of time but get new prints and as many copies of the set as they want. -

I doubt that shops would complain, since scannable codes reduce the number of people who tear boxes to check the contents (thereby resulting in less lost/damaged merchandise).- 686 replies

Probably, since LEGO transitioned from no codes/unscannable codes in earlier boxed series to the scannable ones in later runs of Series 25 and all of Series 26.- 686 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just watched the trailer - It looks they are leaning into it being a spy thriller-type movie similar to CA:TWS, which is a good choice IMO! Sam appears to have two suits in the trailer: the main ‘stealth suit’ one with more dark blue, and one with more white (though not the same as the FatWS suit, as it lacks the cowl). Do we know if these will be part of the Marvel and Star Wars lines respectively, or the Art line? We already know the names of the six January Star Wars sets, and we are getting Art sets in January as well, so I am leaning towards the latter. Edit: -
If we get Space police, then we should also get Space crooks for them to capture; Space fire/EMS would round out the main City ‘factions’ (construction/mining has been covered by the 2024 sets), and maybe we could even get an exploration subtheme in space - Space arctic exploration, perhaps? Wait a second. . . 🤔

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I feel like there is somewhat of an exception to the “No in-house IP” rule for classic themes (especially since LEGO themselves added Black Falcons to the blacksmith, and Captain Redbeard and a shipwrecked BSB to PoBB!), since anyone who makes a Castle or Pirates entry is likely to include classic factions and characters. Also, the BDP Castle sets have all explicitly featured classic factions! I actually think there is a good chance of the Wolfpack Castle making it into production, since while LEGO does have a castle on shelves, it is the massive LKC; the Wolfpack Castle would be a good medium-sized one. LEGO also just reintroduced the Wolfpack in the MTS, so giving them a hideout and an updated (printed!) shield is a logical next step (either that or a GWP). I think it is more likely that the BDP Wolfpack sets will not be produced (having been submitted after the Wolfpack Castle went into review), since the Ideas Wolfpack Castle is already in consideration, and because LEGO knows that we would prefer an Ideas set with a standard release and printed shields over a limited-release BDP set with stickers! -

I was just showing that LEGO decides what colour to use for characters based on what colour in the palette best matches their on-screen skin tone, rather than by arbitrary racial definitions - Specifically in reference to their using medium tan for Cho and Sabine (who were too dark and too light respectively in LEGO form, until the introduction of medium tan). -

Not that specific torso, but I suspect that we will get a new Quicksilver in the next couple of years, as a Battle of Sokovia set is a pretty obvious follow-up the AoU opening battle set(s)! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Classic_Spaceman replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If we get another Halloween series at some point, a plague doctor would fit in nicely there; presenting it as a spooky/creepy costume would adequately detach it from any real-world connotations. One thing that I would like to see in an upcoming CMF is a Lion Knight variant - We got one for the Black Falcons that is more lightly armoured, so a heavily-armoured Lion Knight would be a nice addition. I am thinking something like: -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
There is a Wolfpack hideout Ideas project in review (Wolfpack Castle by BrickHammer), so we may get that in 2HY ‘25 (or by early 2026). If it makes the cut, I would like to see them add a remade Sea Serpent with a couple of Black Knights! A hypothetical joust set would probably not release until mid-2026 at the earliest, since we seem to be getting a large ($200+) Castle set every two years (LKC in 2022, MTS in 2024). The Medieval Blacksmith is an outlier here (releasing in 2021), but that was an Ideas set; as such, I can see the Wolfpack Castle coming in 2HY ‘25 and the hypothetical joust set releasing in 2HY ‘26. -

A “water truck” with exploding function, and bits of debris with clear sticks for posing? IMO, that would be a good set, but as a less expensive add-on, not a $100 main display piece. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I was going off of more recent sets, since the revival of Castle as essentially an 18+ line - I would love to see it return to a full line of playsets at various sizes (Fantasy Era/Kingdoms/Castle 2013), but I also realise that is probably unlikely. The LKC is a good comparison as well - $400 for 22 Minifigs and five animals (two horses, a cow, a lamb, and a bird), with only 10 Minifigs being unique and five of those being reuses! The MTS is $230 for five small animals (goat, kitten, two birds, and a squirrel) and eight Minifigs (two of which are reuses). An ideal joust/tournament set would have at least two large animals (horses) and around 10 Minifigs at minimum, so that would put it squarely between the MTS and LKC in terms of Minifig and animal content - Hence the speculative price of ~$300. My personal hope is that whatever the next Castle set is (a joust feels likely to me, but that is just a guess) will be for the Black Falcons, with any Lions just as guests. I like the Lion Knights, but the Black Falcons are in need of a large official set of their own! Also, I want to see a new Falcon noble design (similar to the Lions’ queen), since neither Falcon torso quite captures the finery of a medieval lord/lady. Something else to note about the number of new elements needed for a joust set is that LEGO has been reintroducing classic factions in a staggered fashion (Black Falcons -> Lion Knights and Forestmen with Black Falcons -> Wolfpack and Lion Knights), so we would be up for a new faction by the time a set like this drops (probably 2026). That new faction (likely/hopefully Black Knights!) will need at the very least new torso, leg, shield, and barding designs! -

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
LEGO is not putting 8-10 Minifigs and two horses with barding into a $200 set, as we have seen with the MTS (eight Minifigs and five small animals (not counting obligatory frog) for $230)! Additionally, LEGO has been leaning towards large premium collectors’ pieces for Castle, so what would essentially be a direct remake of Knights Challenge is never going to be on the table. 🫤 -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Falcon is basically confirmed, since he is an easy reuse from the Tower, and if they give us both Ant-Man and Giant-Man, then I would expect them to be split across two sets. Also, only one CA:CW set is confirmed, but I suspect that if we get any additional ones, they will include reuses from the airport battle in addition to new 'figs, in order to offset the cost of the new prints. -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

TIL this existed! It makes sense that LEGO would have some kind of internal documentation regarding Minifig design (to prevent late-90's/early-00's abominations!), but I was not aware that this was publicly known. Do we have any scans of the style guide, or pics of some of the pages? I am very curious to see what LEGO's specific standards are! -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Classic_Spaceman replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Based on the price of the MTS, I would say around $300 for a joust - The set would need at least two horses with barding, two knights, two squires, a king/queen, a prince/princess, a stable hand, a tavern keeper, and a few spectators (8-10 Minifigs at minimum). I can see a couple of guards, a few food vendors, one or two additional nobles, a musician, and a blacksmith (to repair weapons and armour) appearing as well. Additionally, given that the overwhelming response to the MTS has been that we would have paid more for it to include more animals and Minifigs, as well as to have prints instead of stickers, I suspect that the next Castle set will be more expensive but also have more of the things that we want in it. Maybe, but the pirate ship does not have a retirement date yet, and the castle retires at the end of this year (the Viking ship was the shortest-lived, lasting only a year), so I can see the lack of new sets simply being because LEGO wants to avoid having multiple similar products on shelves at the same time.
